![]() It's been a whole month without any new arrivals. Who knows why? If you ask CERES, they won't bother with any in-depth explanations. They will simply claim that none of the code out there has been responding to their recovery methods, so they had to rework a lot of their technology. However, after several weeks of grueling work, they have finally experienced success! A fresh new batch of faces is coming in, and to celebrate their arrival and the real upcoming holidays, CEO Julius Vincere has arranged for a Christmas-themed carnival for all to enjoy. Those who arrive will wake up in Cerealia and be given a long, boring explanation and powerpoint as per usual before being ushered onto a bus (there is no escape. The robots will force you onto the bus one way or another). You will be unwillingly carted to the theme park where you will be immediately assaulted by a giant array of lights followed by several rides that you can enjoy. After you disembark from the bus, one of the snowman robots will be waiting to give you tickets to the rides and show you around as part of the Grand Opening. The amusement park will remain open for the rest of the month of December so anyone can visit as they please. The first couple tickets will also be on the house for new arrivals, but the rest will have to be bought with credits, so choose wisely! (Or try and sneak into the rides -- then face the wrath of the snowman robots and their snowman firearms :D)

Welcome to CEREALIA's latest intro post For your convenience, we have compiled a post detailing what's going on right here and feel free to consult the FAQ if needed. Please leave any lingering questions in the OOC post, and we'll answer them as soon as we can. If this post goes into overflow, we will make a new one to deal with the ever-hated captcha! Worry not! |
Tenka Kumou
Uh...the latter, I guess? It was back at the entrance to the park when I first got here. We didn't talk very long.
[Though what is with this guy? Why's he still sticking around instead of going to look for his friend? How carefree can you get?]
[Whatever, may as well use that to his advantage.]
I've already gotten a rundown from a...friend... [It sounds like he's not at all used to using that word. At least not in the sense of it being a thing that he has.] so the only question I have is this: have you seen a girl with silver hair done up in braids? and really fucking intense red eyes? She wears glasses and carries a sword bag with a dragon on it on her back
[See now this is how you do descriptions. Then again, Peko has a lot of unique attributes that really stand out...]
no subject
But oh, the description is.... really easy. (Though Tenka does also note the hesitance to use the word 'friend' but he also won't comment on it just yet.)]
Peko-chan! Yeah, I know her. I think I saw her running around here too.
[HIS LATEST ADOPTEE....]
You have an interesting way of describing her. [And then he tilts his head.] Are you the young master she told me about?
no subject
What's so interesting about it? They're all facts, aren't they? [Okay, what the actual fuck here, Peko, he is so confused about your logic train when it comes to telling people about him. Because you obviously didn't tell this guy what he looks like, but you told him about your relationship??? Which nobody else he's run into seems to know about.] And yeah, I'm Kuzuryuu Fuyuhiko.
[That far from the most direct way he could have answered that, but Tenka can probably guess why he didn't say something like "I am", given what Peko's told him about their relationship. He's assuming Peko AT LEAST told this guy his name if she went as far as to mention the young master thing.]
no subject
Still though, he just shrugs faintly at the question. Eh. Introductions are more important and.... Tenka will continue to be really, really familiar without reason. Normally he'd even address him by his first name but apparently this kid's Seen Some Shit so for now he plays it safe - or as safe as Tenka ever does.]
Kuzuryuu-kun then. [He nods in understanding. The young master of the Kuzuryuu family, the person that Peko wanted to be a tool for.] I'm Kumou Tenka - but call me Tenka. Ten-nii if you want, Hinata-kun calls me aniki.
[OVERLY FRIENDLY. Though he does seem to sober up a bit for what he wants to talk about next. He has no reason to believe that Kuzuryuu isn't a good guy - but Tenka's protective of everyone that he takes under his wing, Peko included even though she's only barely accepted it.]
Peko-chan's gonna be really happy to see you. Probably really confused and a little nervous too but definitely more happy than anything. [A pause before he meets Kuzuryuu's eyes seriously.] Please, don't let her doubt anymore that you care about her.
[this is definitely a conversation to have within ten minutes of meeting someone]
1/2 i'm so sorry
[Apparently, Kuzuryuu didn't exactly take very kindly to Tenka's well-meaning advice. Because, the second he got to that part is the exact second that he went from calm-and-mildly-unimpressed to near-hissing-rage. Excuse you, where do you get off telling him something like that? That is most definitely not the first thing you want to bring up with someone you've just met. Especially not when that someone is very easily offended and has an incredibly short fuse.]
[Yes, he fucked up with letting Peko know how he really feels. THANK YOU FOR REMINDING HIM OF THAT FACT. But he had his reasons. And it was never something done out of malicious intent. As little sense as it makes, he pushed her away because he cared about her. He knows now that that wasn't the right way to handle that at all, but it's not like he can go back and change things now.]
[He makes a strange, strangled sort of noise, clearly momentarily lost for words. Or maybe that was supposed to be a growl? Who really knows, this kid just makes weird noises sometimes. Get used to that.]
2/2
Fuck you, asshole! [Asshole...aniki...same thing, right? Totally.] You didn't even know who I was until a minute ago, and now you're gonna stand there and try and tell me what I need to do?! Like I'm some dumbass kid who doesn't know any better? I don't know what Peko's told you, but it's obvious you don't know shit if you think I needed to hear that from anybody, let alone some dumbass I just met! So why don't you just take your lecture and fucking shove. It?!
[And with that, he turns and storms away. Tenka is free to follow him, of course, but it should be fairly obvious that if Kuzuryuu DOES have anything else left to say to him, it's not going to be anything nice. And that unfortunately does not mean he's going to follow Thumper's advice and not say nothing at all.]
no i'm sorry
Tenka is still a hot-blooded idiot when crossed.]
Hey! Halfpint shithead!
[Haha whoa, where did that well-meaning grin and easy-going nature go? Congratulations Kuzuryuu, you managed to collide right into Tenka's backbone of steel when it comes to taking care of his kids. True, he doesn't know the full story of Peko and Kuzuryuu - rather, it's all based on what Peko told him. And yet he continues to be the type to barge ahead regardless.
So regardless if Kuzuryuu turns around or not at the insult, Tenka's marching right on ahead to catch up with him with a grin on his face that's leaps and bounds away from the warmth that he was exuding just a second ago. Nah, this is all steel and sharp edges. Though he is mindful to not yell quite as loudly as the other, he'd rather not.... cause more of a scene?]
Listen to me, you punk, I won't treat you like a kid until you damn well ask for it and gotta say, you're asking for it. [To be quite honest, Tenka would've already thrown a punch if he didn't know that Peko would probably get sad about it. Clearly a well-functioning adult here.] But I'm not about to try to put things delicately for you - all I know is that you're important to Peko and I care about her happiness.
And I figure that if you do too then change your fucking tune. Quit turning to anger as your default response before I slug you.
no subject
[There's no way Kuzuryuu wouldn't turn around when Tenka's throwing around a word like "halfpint" though. Because his height is kind of a sensitive topic, second only to his babyface. "Shithead", on the other hand, doesn't even faze him. Call him shithead all day, he doesn't care BUT WAS BRINGING HIS HEIGHT INTO THIS REALLY NECESSARY!?!]
[But it's what comes after that that makes him stay put. Because it wasn't until Tenka outright said it that the notion of "hey, this guy cares about Peko, just like me," really and truly clicked. Because that's, sadly, something he's just not used to. Until now, he's been the only one who really cared about her. But she's been here a month now without him and she's clearly made friends and...whatever Tenka is to her. Because something about him seems fundamentally different than Peko's acquaintances that he's run into up to this point. Things are different now, and that's something he's going to have to get used to. Which shouldn't be too hard, seeings how more people caring about Peko is a good thing. Lord knows she needs it, especially people who are actually decent at showing it. Because he'd be the first to admit that he was kind of absolute shit at that. Mostly because he perceived as actions in her best interest or for her happiness were...not always that. Because he's not Peko and he has a hard enough time understanding and fulfilling his own emotional needs, let alone somebody else's. He really and truly thought that pushing her away was the best way to handle their...everything.]
I... That's... [There's a few more of those weird half strangled noises. Is he trying to make words or is he choking, we just don't know. But the longer he goes without managing to string any words together, the more he seems to deflate. Because with everything he just said, Tenka may as well have punched him. And that's enough to knock Kuzuryuu's head back on straight and realize that he really kind of overreacted there. And that realization is enough to make him ashamed and mildly disgusted with himself. Because he's supposed to be a better person than that now and that was so fucking childish, Tenka is 100% right.]
Sorry. [It's a little gruff, but clearly not because he's being insincere or because he's just apologizing to get Tenka to stop yelling. Because he does clearly mean it, so the rough edge to his voice is probably more self-directed than anything. Because, again, damn you Fuyuhiko, you were supposed to have moved past this. Though to be honest, he still thinks Tenka's comment was a little out of line for a first conversation. But that doesn't make his reaction even remotely justified.] That's not the first thing I need to tell her but...I know. Trust me, I'm making a list...of all the things I need to tell her.
[Though it's not going to be until much later tonight that he actually manages but HEY. HE IS AT LEAST TRYING TO MAKE A LIST RIGHT NOW. Even if he's going to kind of flub it when he actually finds her.]
no subject
Though at least the apology manages to get his shoulders to level out, his posture reading less and less like he's gonna sock Kuzuryuu in the gut (and boy, was he about to). He's still not quite as relaxed or carefree as he was earlier, though. No, his eyes are still serious as he starts to treat the matter with the attention that it probably deserves if Kuzuryuu is taking it so seriously.]
... Apology accepted.
[But that part is easy. Tenka forgives everyone. He crosses his arms then, considering his words here-]
I don't know the entire situation between the two of you. [He'll admit that now.] But I know what Peko's trusted me with and all I'm saying is be aware of the space outside of yourself. I trust that you've got a good heart and you care about her - that's obvious even to an idiot - but showing it is another thing entirely.
Sometimes what you think you need to tell someone and what they need to hear are different things, Kuzuryuu-kun. [He pauses and adds:] Just do me a favor and remember that.
[It still sounds like a lecture to be honest and yeah, he's still intruding in a relationship that isn't his - but there is a distinct effort here not to talk to Kuzuryuu like a child. Like Tenka said, he'll only treat him like one if he acts like it and owning up to a mistake like that? Well, that's already better than Tenka had expected.]
no subject
[
Though so help him, Tenka, if you're taking advantage of her or something...]...right, yeah. I'll remember.
[Okay while it almost sounds like he's blowing him off there, he's really not. That pause is the sound of Kuzuryuu going back and reanalyzing his entire list of "Things I Need To Tell Peko" that he'd assembled up to this point. Because goddammit, you had to go and bring that point up and now he's not sure he's got it right. And their reunion has to go right, it just has to.]
[He's going to overthink everything, thanks Tenka.]
[After a minute though, he seems to come to a realization and gives Tenka a somewhat concerned look.]
...how much did she tell you, exactly?
[This is weird. Like...knowing his name is one thing. But he's not sure how he feels about a stranger knowing some of the less than admirable points of his back story without Kuzuryuu having been the one to share them.]
[Continued over here.]
