![]() It's been a whole month without any new arrivals. Who knows why? If you ask CERES, they won't bother with any in-depth explanations. They will simply claim that none of the code out there has been responding to their recovery methods, so they had to rework a lot of their technology. However, after several weeks of grueling work, they have finally experienced success! A fresh new batch of faces is coming in, and to celebrate their arrival and the real upcoming holidays, CEO Julius Vincere has arranged for a Christmas-themed carnival for all to enjoy. Those who arrive will wake up in Cerealia and be given a long, boring explanation and powerpoint as per usual before being ushered onto a bus (there is no escape. The robots will force you onto the bus one way or another). You will be unwillingly carted to the theme park where you will be immediately assaulted by a giant array of lights followed by several rides that you can enjoy. After you disembark from the bus, one of the snowman robots will be waiting to give you tickets to the rides and show you around as part of the Grand Opening. The amusement park will remain open for the rest of the month of December so anyone can visit as they please. The first couple tickets will also be on the house for new arrivals, but the rest will have to be bought with credits, so choose wisely! (Or try and sneak into the rides -- then face the wrath of the snowman robots and their snowman firearms :D)

Welcome to CEREALIA's latest intro post For your convenience, we have compiled a post detailing what's going on right here and feel free to consult the FAQ if needed. Please leave any lingering questions in the OOC post, and we'll answer them as soon as we can. If this post goes into overflow, we will make a new one to deal with the ever-hated captcha! Worry not! |

But while she's over there considering her own bocchan-centric rescue mission, Kaoru's over here busy looking full of humility.]
I believe that a number of others had the same idea, if what I've seen so far is anything to go by. I'm very glad for it... Especially after that strange gap between this group and the last one, it would benefit everyone to be as guarded as possible. I hope that you haven't run into too much trouble beyond the rides so far, speaking of...?
[Peko must be KEPT SAFE. Protect the angry murderous swordswoman 2k15.]

[Literally everyone noticed that. At least she doesn't seem to be expecting an actual answer to that question, instead just using it as a kind of confirmation.]
There seem to be quite a few more people recovered this time, as well. I have to wonder if there has been a change to their technology to make something like that possible... and where its limits lie.
[But then she looks somewhat taken aback. Someone showing her concern? Why does that keep happening...]
I am-- fine. I do not recommend the Ferris wheel, as whatever was present within it cannot be killed with a blade. [She tried.] And the "Funhouse" only left me with some bruises.

But!! That's something to quietly seethe over later in private, where there's no risk of accidentally murdering someone in a fit of rage. Kaoru smiles, reassured.]
I'm glad to hear that. [Yes, it's concern! Genuine, grown from the dirt and watered by hand concern!! Freshly farmed, freshly grown, local Grade A "I am so glad you weren't brutally murdered by Santa".]
I'll keep my distance from the Ferris wheel, in that case. I won't be of much use to anyone if I'm injured. [DEATH BY FERRIS WHEEL doesn't sound very elegant, either.]
Ah - but I was wondering if I had just been imagining that. The number being larger than usual, that is...

[Kaoru looks like a dainty flower, so those rides are definitely out if you ask Peko. Too dangerous.
But she nods in response to the comment about the numbers, twining a bit of loose hair around her finger as she glances back out over the amusement park as a whole.]
I think so. It is difficult to say, as I do not know many people... but there seem to be many faces I do not recognize.

I don't have a good number for it, but it seems almost to have doubled, by my estimate. Just based on the number of people... It's a little strange to see, to be honest. I can still recall the first meeting, back when there were no more than thirty of us.
[The huge boom in number has Kaoru wondering if there's a backup plan for when they inevitably run out of room in the city limits to comfortably house people. On the other hand--]
Disappearances weren't so frequent back then, either.
no subject
[This is actually the first Peko's heard of this, her head snapping around sharply to meet Kaoru's eyes. Benefits of having very few people to care about...]
What do you mean by that?
no subject
Sometimes, people vanish from this place. It doesn't seem to have a pattern like the arrivals do, and I'm not certain that anyone knows where they go, either... Still, it wasn't an issue at all earlier. It seems like it's become more frequent in the same way that the number of new arrivals has become larger.

Could it be that they are unable to store as much data as they are importing?
[She doesn't know much about computers, but she understands the basic concept of a hard drive. And if there's not enough space, some things inevitably have to get deleted.
That's the worst case scenario.]
There must be some kind of pattern to it. I will need to monitor that situation more closely.

But Kaoru has a vague working knowledge of technology by now because it would be pretty stupid to get stuck in a very technologically-based society for months without reading up on these things. Still, that thought hadn't yet occurred, judging by the displeased expression that immediately presents itself. On the other hand...]
I'm not entirely certain. If that is the case, I believe the data is simply stored elsewhere for the time being. [Considering what Lilith had said about Chizuru earlier... Though she might be an exception, since her arrival also seemed like an exception.]
But I agree that a pattern should be looked for. I've been doing my best to keep track, though I haven't managed to find one yet.
