![]() It's been a whole month without any new arrivals. Who knows why? If you ask CERES, they won't bother with any in-depth explanations. They will simply claim that none of the code out there has been responding to their recovery methods, so they had to rework a lot of their technology. However, after several weeks of grueling work, they have finally experienced success! A fresh new batch of faces is coming in, and to celebrate their arrival and the real upcoming holidays, CEO Julius Vincere has arranged for a Christmas-themed carnival for all to enjoy. Those who arrive will wake up in Cerealia and be given a long, boring explanation and powerpoint as per usual before being ushered onto a bus (there is no escape. The robots will force you onto the bus one way or another). You will be unwillingly carted to the theme park where you will be immediately assaulted by a giant array of lights followed by several rides that you can enjoy. After you disembark from the bus, one of the snowman robots will be waiting to give you tickets to the rides and show you around as part of the Grand Opening. The amusement park will remain open for the rest of the month of December so anyone can visit as they please. The first couple tickets will also be on the house for new arrivals, but the rest will have to be bought with credits, so choose wisely! (Or try and sneak into the rides -- then face the wrath of the snowman robots and their snowman firearms :D)

Welcome to CEREALIA's latest intro post For your convenience, we have compiled a post detailing what's going on right here and feel free to consult the FAQ if needed. Please leave any lingering questions in the OOC post, and we'll answer them as soon as we can. If this post goes into overflow, we will make a new one to deal with the ever-hated captcha! Worry not! |

And gulps. Now, he's not sure if he's in the TV world or not...]
Those things look like they're straight out of some horror flick. [And suddenly, again, the lights die and mirrors shatter all around them. Bloodcurdling howls ring out, and he hears something charging.]
no subject
Dammit-- I hate these bastards!
no subject
Woah! [He's about to complain when he looks behind him, and sees what Cliff is running from, barely being able to make it out in the darkness as his eyes adjust.]
Keep running! Susano-o! [He cries out, and thankfully the persona is on it, casting a smaller wind spell at the monster that manages to slow it down considerably and do some damage.]
no subject
He heard motion in front of them, a scampering of feet. Cliff stopped as suddenly as he started, heavy boots digging into the earth, right in time for another bloody howl.]
Oh, hell! [he swore, firming up his grip on the kid and steeling himself for the worst.] I really hate fighting in the dark.
no subject
We are so screwed-! [But, his mind is in full combat mode now, and Susano-o is at least reflecting that by trying to take care of the one that was chasing them.] There's gotta be a way outta this!
no subject
[His words were a tad sharp-- but, given the circumstances, it wasn't uncalled for. Cliff was on combat-mode himself.]
--Just wish there was some goddamn light in here!
no subject
[He squirms, and even now his persona is moving towards them quickly.]
no subject
Alright, kid. Show us what you've got.
no subject
[He steels himself for this, because it's going to take a toll on him and he knows it. With a grunt, his hand goes out to mirror that of his persona, and three very large green tornado-like vortexes appear around them in a very large triangular shape. But what he's counting on is two things- barriers that the spectres have to maneuver around now, and the light being produced from the magic itself. It brightens the area, allowing them both to see.]
Hurry...up-! I don't know how long I can hold this-!
no subject
Cliff grinned like a predatory animal ready to strike and shot a glance back at Yosuke.]
Thanks, kid!
[And, with that, he charged headlong into the fray, fists blazing as he lashed out at the spectral creatures that were attempting to wreck their day.]
no subject
Unfortunately, he's trying to concentrate on keeping the magic going, so he stands defenseless unless Cliff protects him or a vortex catches a spectre. After several minutes of this kind of work, the vortexes start to decline and become thinner and thinner. Along with the light fading with it.]
no subject
He smashed another snarling beast aside and spared a glance back at Yosuke when he noted the light fading.]
How're you holdin' up?
[Please don't pass out on him-- he wasn't carrying any items that would be helpful in that regard when he was pulled in.]
no subject
[The vortex dwindles down even more, and they threaten to dissipate completely.]
no subject
There's a ton of 'em!
[And, the last time, they were gone before the two had a chance to process. What was going to happen this time?]
no subject
They're going to die, and he couldn't believe this was how he was going to go out.
And then the lights snap back on.]
What...? [And then just stays on the ground wishing he could just go home. Please.]
no subject
The line of thought careened to a halt when the lights came back on and the world looked like nothing strange had happened. It was unnerving, and it was starting to piss Cliff off.]
...Too freaky, [he managed finally, with a disgruntled snort, before rushing over to Yosuke. He didn't know what sort of power the strange being relied upon, but he's seen (and felt) the effects of what happens when Symbologists over-exert themselves. If this technique was anything similar, then Yosuke was going to be in pretty poor shape.]
--Hey, Yosuke. [Cliff's tone was calm but concerned when he knelt by Yosuke's side.] You okay? Can you stand?
no subject
[He whines from lying on the floor, face down. He's tired, that was almost too much. It hurt to do that, and he'd never had to do that before. Taking hits was bad enough when just physically fighting with his persona, but this was a new different level of exertion that he didn't know existed.]
Tell me that was just a dream, dude...
no subject
[Cliff shook his head-- there was no such luck as all that being a dream if more than one person remembered it. He wouldn't care about the monsters so much if there were at least a sign of the fight...but, the fact that everything resets after each encounter was starting to stick in his craw.]
Let's get outta here, kid. I'll carry ya too, if you want.
no subject
Where's the exit, I don't wanna stay in here any longer than we have to. I don't think I could take another freaky surprise like that.
no subject
You and me both. [He stretched out his arms and shoulders with an audible crack. The last few days, this one included, had been wicked tense on him.] If we retrace our steps, we should get out with no problem. But, I'm kinda hoping to find a back door before we hit that point.
no subject
Let's keep going before I collapse. I'm totally going to need a nice long, hot shower after this...
no subject
[Cliff didn't want to imagine the possibility that they were stuck in this stupid exhibit. They'd find a way out, one way or the other.]
Fortunately, we're in a world where those exist, [he said, starting off in the direction they had come from.] There's lots of worlds that don't have that convenience-- and, lemme tell you, they're as much the opposite of 'convenient' that you can imagine.
no subject
It would totally suck not to have electricity or something.
no subject
[He kept a watchful eye on Yosuke as they moved, but covered his concern with a brief smile.]
That said, I prefer being a world with electricity. It's so much nicer.
no subject
[As evidenced by the headphones around his neck.]
I'd be such a drag. I'd get bored out of my skull.
