![]() It's been a whole month without any new arrivals. Who knows why? If you ask CERES, they won't bother with any in-depth explanations. They will simply claim that none of the code out there has been responding to their recovery methods, so they had to rework a lot of their technology. However, after several weeks of grueling work, they have finally experienced success! A fresh new batch of faces is coming in, and to celebrate their arrival and the real upcoming holidays, CEO Julius Vincere has arranged for a Christmas-themed carnival for all to enjoy. Those who arrive will wake up in Cerealia and be given a long, boring explanation and powerpoint as per usual before being ushered onto a bus (there is no escape. The robots will force you onto the bus one way or another). You will be unwillingly carted to the theme park where you will be immediately assaulted by a giant array of lights followed by several rides that you can enjoy. After you disembark from the bus, one of the snowman robots will be waiting to give you tickets to the rides and show you around as part of the Grand Opening. The amusement park will remain open for the rest of the month of December so anyone can visit as they please. The first couple tickets will also be on the house for new arrivals, but the rest will have to be bought with credits, so choose wisely! (Or try and sneak into the rides -- then face the wrath of the snowman robots and their snowman firearms :D)

Welcome to CEREALIA's latest intro post For your convenience, we have compiled a post detailing what's going on right here and feel free to consult the FAQ if needed. Please leave any lingering questions in the OOC post, and we'll answer them as soon as we can. If this post goes into overflow, we will make a new one to deal with the ever-hated captcha! ...you also have to realize that hamsters are typically nocturnal creatures, only remaining awake during the day when they are used to receiving food, treats or attention. While sleeping schedules can be adjusted, it is better to allow them to sleep when they feel is naturally comfortable to them.
[And a pause to offer the hamster in question a few affectionate rubs.]
Though he is certainly accustomed to far more sleep than strictly necessary sometimes.
no subject
Wait, really?
[KUZURYUU LEARNED SOMETHING NEW TODAY. Yeah pretend you're surprised he knows shit about hamsters, Gundam.]
no subject
Yes. [He's not surprised in the least.] While each hamster is different and can have varying sleep schedules all on their own, it is better to assume they will be night owls, and to be a night owl yourself if you hope to create a bond with these animals. Attempting to keep a nocturnal hamster awake during the day leads to cranky and antisocial behavior and often times biting when you attempt to interact with them.
However, this sort of reaction would not be uncommon for any nocturnal creature. This fact should be kept in mind when considering the type of animal that would be best suited to walk beside you. If you cannot adjust to your companion's needs, you should find a beast that is easier suited to your own.
[Gonna regard Kuzuryuu carefully throughout this entire spiel. Maybe trying to place what kind of person he is...would he have a dog? A cat? Maybe a rabbit?]
no subject
But you said you can adjust their sleep schedules, right? So...is that what you did with yours or were they just not nocturnal?
[You're confusing him a little here, Gundam. You said one thing now you're saying another thing and wow it's starting to sound like hamsters are more work than he thought.]
no subject
You can, it just isn't advised or always well received. As for my hamsters, the other three adjusted their schedule on their own as they learned my pattern of activity. Allowing them to slumber within my scarf, they slowly became more interested in my daily routine and would rouse every so often to observe what I was doing or where I was going. Eventually they would stay awake for hours at a time during the day, which lead to their current schedule now. They will nap at times of low activity, when there is nothing that interests them, but for the most part they choose to slumber at night.
[Look, you never know. You never know what kind of pet person a person is. You could assume one thing and then be totally surprised.]
Tell me, human. What clan have you tossed your allegiances to?
no subject
[You lost him, Gundam. You went from talking about hamsters to talking about clan allegiances, which has a completely different meaning to him than it does to you. Which...he's positive is not what Gundam means because it's not even a question that needs to be asked. Kuzuryuu family, best clan, tbh.]
no subject
[He's still, in a way, talking about hamsters. If you happen to align with hamsters.]
Is it that of the Cerberus? The Phoenix? The Sphinx? With which do you align yourself with?
[Do you have a pet??]
no subject
[But okay those are all animals, right? So obviously he didn't actually change the subject.]
I...had a dog when I was younger? Is what what you're asking?
[He's trying...]
no subject
But judging by the way he chuckles, seeming satisfied with that reply, you guessed right Kuzuryuu.]
How fitting that a beast should walk with a beast. What breed was this familiar of yours? For an accurate judge of strength, these basic questions must be answered.
[It is time for twenty questions: animal edition apparently.]
no subject
He was a Chin. [Possibly an unexpected answer? You'd think a yakuza heir might have something a little more intimidating than that.] But my family keeps Tosas and Akitas too.
[There we go, there's the bigger, more aggressive dogs you'd expect to see in conjunction with such a violent family. AND THEN THERE'S FUYUHIKO...WITH HIS FLUFFY LITTLE LAP DOG...]
no subject
A Chin? For someone like you to make a pact with a Chin...did you care for him yourself?
[Don't take this the wrong way. He's not judging you in any way right now.]
Were these Tosas and Akitas only the animals kept by your family, or did you form a bond with one of them as well?
no subject
[He means family in the sense of like...his blood family, not his syndicate family. Mom, dad, sister, y'know, that whole biz.]
no subject
He gives a hearty cackle, crossing his arms and sitting up a little straighter.]
It seems I have misjudged you, mortal! To have held a pact with a creature as noble and cute as the Chin, taking this responsibility on as your own, is an impressive feat...even without the power you took from Pandemonium itself, your essence level is clearly nothing to scoff at!
no subject
Uh...thanks?
[He...thinks?]
no subject
What sorts of techniques did you and your familiar practice? How many battles did the two of you face together? Were you ever able to claim the ultimate prize?
[Tell him about you and your pet. *^*]
no subject
no subject
There's a low rumble of a chuckle coming from him before he starts explaining.]
Every year, all across this planet, many brutal competitions are held in which masters and their familiars enter, seeking to obtain the ultimate prize. It is a brilliant badge of glory, bestowed upon only those who are able to overcome the trials of these competitions! Whose bond with their companions is strong and the skills they have learned together impressive!
Only those with the highest marks for a superior physique, beautiful coat, masterful skill and stunning talent will earn glory for their master, claiming the blue insignia of victory for their own!
no subject
[He likes to compete and all but...that type of dog competition is likely not the sort of dog competition that a yakuza typically engages in.]
I did teach him some tricks though. My old man helped me with the basics at first, since I was so young. You know, stuff like sit, stay, come...that sort of thing. But when I got a little older, I eventually taught him how to do a little spin thing.
no subject
Hmph. To be able to teach your familiar as advanced a technique as that...the two of you must have shared a very strong pact.
[Does he sound impressed?]
To think I would find someone else with such capabilities and skills in a place like this...how I overlooked someone like you on the island is beyond me. Worry not, however! For now you have caught my eye and I am not so foolish that I would ignore such a respectable man.
[Is that a good or a bad thing we just don't know. Also pretend you're surprised that he respects you because you taught your dog how to do a spin.]
no subject
Uh...thanks? [He... Is this is a good thing? He's going to go with this is a good thing. Yeah. Totally. Are either of their IDs going to ding with a hope shard get now?] I dunno about that though. I mean...pact isn't the word I would use but...sure. Helps that he was a smart dog too though.
1/2
Of course. Intelligence of the hell beast is always something to take into account, though with patience any creature can be taught even the most difficult of skills. Some simply require more time than others.
no subject
Have respect for how smart your Chin was, but don't sell yourself short as his master simply because of that fact.
no subject
[About...dog spins...but you know what. He'll take what he can get.]
Heh, well you would know best wouldn't you? Guess I'll just shut up and take the compliment then.
[What the hell is happening here. Who are these two, they are clearly not Gundam and Kuzuryuu.]
[Still petting whatever hamsters are vying for his attention, by the way. If any. What have the hams been doing this whole time anyway, aside from lazybones asleep in Gundam's hand over there?]
no subject
A wise decision. It is not often I find reason to compliment mortals, so to receive such veneration should be welcomed.
[As for the hams, it's really on San-D who is continuing to look for pets. The other two boys have been thoroughly exploring Kuzuryuu's lap and hands and maybe Maga-Z stuck his head into one of his sleeves at one point. Spending their time making themselves familiar with the important things. Places to sit and eat seeds or nap, places to hide if they need, the works.]
