![]() It's been a whole month without any new arrivals. Who knows why? If you ask CERES, they won't bother with any in-depth explanations. They will simply claim that none of the code out there has been responding to their recovery methods, so they had to rework a lot of their technology. However, after several weeks of grueling work, they have finally experienced success! A fresh new batch of faces is coming in, and to celebrate their arrival and the real upcoming holidays, CEO Julius Vincere has arranged for a Christmas-themed carnival for all to enjoy. Those who arrive will wake up in Cerealia and be given a long, boring explanation and powerpoint as per usual before being ushered onto a bus (there is no escape. The robots will force you onto the bus one way or another). You will be unwillingly carted to the theme park where you will be immediately assaulted by a giant array of lights followed by several rides that you can enjoy. After you disembark from the bus, one of the snowman robots will be waiting to give you tickets to the rides and show you around as part of the Grand Opening. The amusement park will remain open for the rest of the month of December so anyone can visit as they please. The first couple tickets will also be on the house for new arrivals, but the rest will have to be bought with credits, so choose wisely! (Or try and sneak into the rides -- then face the wrath of the snowman robots and their snowman firearms :D)

[They haven't attained peace yet, but...]
That is no reason to give up, however. Peace will be attained--in this world, and in our own. It is the natural order of things, for those who fight.
[to eventually see peace of some sort restored.]
no subject
Those who fight...cannot hope to find peace. If there was another way... [ He doesn't look dour but he sure sounds it. Fighting wasn't really at the top of his to do list so to speak. ] But it is not only my life which is burdened. I will try to help as I am able.
[ Whether that be by praying or fighting he doesn't quite know as of yet. ]
no subject
Those who fight do so to protect the peace and safety of others, so they may know peace. ...If they are fighting for the right reasons.
[But this delicate sword, huh....even so, swords that are beautiful and delicate can be deadly. Sousei has no reason to doubt.]
Your assistance will undoubtedly be appreciated. For now, however, you must focus on acclimating yourself to this place.
no subject
And yet he would fight to protect Souza, Sayo, his Sainwa and the other swords if he could. ]
...Yes. It is...quite a bit more complicated than I realized. [ He doesn't very well know how to acclimate, what without a master and now in a strange world. His own apparently destroyed but the truth behind such things unknown to him. He was still mentally trying to adjust to all this. It was...somewhat tiring. ] It is...strange being without a master here.
[ He's certain he and Souza are more than a little bit lost right now. But he intends to support his brother through whatever may happen. ]
no subject
They're also living, breathing people at this point.
So... he pauses.]
Is it truly that startling to be without for even this short time?
no subject
...it leaves us without purpose. [ Because what good were swords who had no master to command them or use them? Even if he hated fighting he would do so if his master commanded it of him. Along those lines the fact that their world might be gone made it all the worse. ]
We have only be around this way a short time. So living like this is...unfamiliar. Our Saniwa at least taught us many things while we were with them. [ But it's still unfamiliar to have a presence and a will of their own now. ]
no subject
Well, isn't it a little unfortunate?]
... I see. I was unaware that it was temporary.
[A pause. Even so......]
Nonetheless, your sentient nature is still real while you are in this form. For that reason, you should be treated properly as a person who is capable of making decisions.
no subject
...a person. [ It's strange to really think of himself like that. But it's true, they were technically people now. People who were perhaps slightly different than most. ] Thank you, Sousei-san, for thinking us as such. Not many would think...to call us people. As merely a weapon I am unfamiliar with how many things work.
[ But he'll try to get the basics down as soon as possible. ] But you and Tenka-san...are being generous enough to teach us. [ He'll bow his head, eyes closed, in a motion of gratitude. ]
...for that I am grateful.
no subject
No, anyone could be a person, so long as they possessed that sentience and capability to choose for themselves. So no matter what the swords say... he does believe they have that right.
He nods simply.]
There is no need for thanks. [Rather, he's not doing it for thanks or accolades, but because he truly believes it.] But we will teach you whatever you may need to learn.
[...a pause. And he continues, albeit a little more slowly--]
There is no need to refer to yourself as "merely" a weapon. You are a sword, of renowned history and beautiful craftsmanship, taken form. There is no "merely" about that.
[Really, he thinks it's kind of amazing; but then, he's always treasured his own sword.]
no subject
His eyes might tick towards Sousei's sword, a solemn look on his features. ] Not all of our master's thought like you Sousei-san. It is...refreshing to hear that some people cherish their swords in such a way.
[ Some were used for revenge and murder, while others were branded and scarred and many were broken and reforged as well. ]
no subject
Maybe they can all learn together.
As for the rest, well...]
...Someone who does not treasure his sword does not understand the purpose it serves. [as far as he's concerned, they don't deserve to be called masters. Sousei has a lot of bad blood between him and the rest of the Abe family without a doubt--but nonetheless, the Abe family sword is a sword that is the same as it was 600 years before, and nonetheless he treasures it as an important family heirloom...and as the sword that has saved his life multiple times, of course.]
Mine has saved my life and the lives of the people I have sworn to protect many times, and will do so again in the future.
[It's his sword that will cut down the Orochi--he knows that much as fact, even if he's not the one wielding it at the time.]
no subject
...I don't enjoy fighting. But if it is you, or Tenka-san, I would be willing to protect you. [ As a sword...and a friend he supposed. Strange to think that but they were becoming increasingly familiar in terms of helping him and Souza. It was only right to call them as such. ]
This I am certain of and can promise. [ He is willing protect by means of violence as a last resort. ]
no subject
[It isn't that he doesn't appreciate the offer, because he does; he knows that it's a very huge, important offer. He just doesn't want to make Kousetsu do it--especially after stating that he doesn't enjoy fighting.]
If you do not wish to fight, then you will not have to here, except in entirely unavoidable circumstances. [he can't promise it will never happen, but--]
Tenka and I will be able to handle the rest.
[they'll protect the swords--he sees no issue with that.]
no subject
He was made to fight because there was no other choice. But here...could he truly not need to do it? It was a strange concept to accept for him. Regardless of what was spoken, war was something that required all manners of help. His aversion to fighting was no excuse to stay off the front lines. So he accepted the fact that he had to do it even if he hated it. So he looks a bit...unsure on what to say. He does nod his head in thanks though. ]
...I do not know how to thank you. It's not very customary to hear such things. I have always been made to fight...regardless of my feelings on the matter. [ That's just the truth of it all, really. ]
no subject
He can't accept that.
His purpose, as a child of the Abe family, had been to be Orochi bait, and then die when his purpose was finished. He had had no other purpose. The thought of someone living by a single purpose that they believe was given to them honestly leaves a bitter taste in his mouth.
He doesn't care if they're swords given life. They're people nonetheless, clearly with preferences and beliefs. It's enough.]
Living by someone else's purpose is unnecessary. [It's said simply, and honestly, he knows it's not easy. He knows when you're given a purpose and you believe all your life that that is what it is, then you stick to it, because it's frightening when there's nothing else.
But he also knows that it's dangerous to cling to a purpose that does not allow you to live your life. So he's blunt, but....this is something that he has experienced for himself, and is something very important to him in the end.]
You do not have a master here. That means you may choose what you make of your life here. If you do not wish to fight--then do not fight.
[And...back home as well, he thinks, but that's probably enough bluntness for now, especially because he's aware he's basically lecturing a sword that is hundreds of years old, ah.
Well.
He doesn't take any of it back.]
no subject
[ Of course as an object and a tool they hardly had any say towards what they could and could not do. But Sousei brings up valid points and he nods in earnest understanding. ]
...yes you are right. [ He doesn't mind the lecture. Kousetsu is one of those swords that listens to everyone's thoughts and feelings and takes them as they are. Sousei is far more understanding than he would have thought, though. ]
It will be hard but that is...the purpose of acclimating. [ He will definitely do his best to, well, live his life how he wanted to. Strange as it may be to think. Without a master he feels listless and lost, but it's only the first day here. Perhaps things will change and perhaps he'll get used to being like this. ]
no subject
[He's satisfied with that, honestly; if Kousetsu is willing to make the effort, Sousei isn't going to harp on the topic. In fact, he shifts to continue to walk then, serious topic apparently now closed.
... Though after a momentary pause, he does add, if softly--]
Simply remember that you are more than the purpose you have been given.
[They are all so much more than what people think they are meant for.
...and with that, he shakes his head, properly changing the topic.]
Have you seen your brother already?
