![]() It's been a whole month without any new arrivals. Who knows why? If you ask CERES, they won't bother with any in-depth explanations. They will simply claim that none of the code out there has been responding to their recovery methods, so they had to rework a lot of their technology. However, after several weeks of grueling work, they have finally experienced success! A fresh new batch of faces is coming in, and to celebrate their arrival and the real upcoming holidays, CEO Julius Vincere has arranged for a Christmas-themed carnival for all to enjoy. Those who arrive will wake up in Cerealia and be given a long, boring explanation and powerpoint as per usual before being ushered onto a bus (there is no escape. The robots will force you onto the bus one way or another). You will be unwillingly carted to the theme park where you will be immediately assaulted by a giant array of lights followed by several rides that you can enjoy. After you disembark from the bus, one of the snowman robots will be waiting to give you tickets to the rides and show you around as part of the Grand Opening. The amusement park will remain open for the rest of the month of December so anyone can visit as they please. The first couple tickets will also be on the house for new arrivals, but the rest will have to be bought with credits, so choose wisely! (Or try and sneak into the rides -- then face the wrath of the snowman robots and their snowman firearms :D)

Welcome to CEREALIA's latest intro post For your convenience, we have compiled a post detailing what's going on right here and feel free to consult the FAQ if needed. Please leave any lingering questions in the OOC post, and we'll answer them as soon as we can. If this post goes into overflow, we will make a new one to deal with the ever-hated captcha! Worry not! |

[ Look.. it's just hard to cover the range with anything other than "weird shit". How else do you go from stripping teachers changing into huge insect monsters to killer clowns? How... ]
CERES usually apologizes for it and tries to blame something else for it, but it starts to look shady as hell when it keeps happening like this.

BOY IS HE GLAD HE DOESN'T KNOW ABOUT THAT ONE
But info's good and he's willing to take it from any source, so the man in front of him has his full attention.]
How long has this been recurring, and can you state some examples of strange occurrences?
no subject
It'd be hard to give examples that summarize it all though, just so you know that. It's all so weird.. [ Sighs!! Life is so hard here in Cerealia, and that's even nothing compared to Zelien where he was before.. ] One time we were told that whoever murdered the most people here would get to go home, and there were these weird people all over the place killing others. [ Noooot lingering on that one for too long though, since it actually claimed the life of one of his closest friends. ]
Another time some people here had dreams of other people's memories. I guess it's mostly the severity of the consequences that varies.
no subject
[Which he is considering... He did it back home too, it's totally not a diary.]
What? The colony that claims it retrieves individuals to unite and fight an inter-worldly menace together would pit these lives against each other?! What manner of demented madmen would condone murderers?
[That totally overrode the sharing memories part, oops... Granted with Spirias and Somatics, going "into" other people's "hearts" and getting the truth of their feelings is kinda similar, so...]
no subject
There's no real proof they did it. [ He has to be fair and at least say that though.. ] But it's also a fact that they did pretty damn little to stop it once it was going on. Not to mention that they didn't prevent it from happening to begin with.
[ Despite them being able to apparently construct.. people from.. data.. whatever that is. Don't ask Shinpachi about modern technology, man, he's a samurai. ]
Just that seems shady enough to me. Honestly, it's good to at least be wary of 'em, if not more.
no subject
But yes, MORE IMPORTANTLY, general state of lawfulness]
I see. No, your point is entirely fair; a governing body's inability to ensure the safety of its people is unfit to lead. How is the military here, or some other form of disciplined force that should be preserving the order and wellness of the colony?
no subject
[ He's about to start an explanation on it, because even with as stupid as Shinpachi might seem at times, he actually does pay attention where it counts-- aka to stuff like this, for example.
But then he realises something, judging by the other's looks.. it's not like he would have known if it wasn't for Zelien, so he scratches his head and tries again. ]
.. you know what those are? [ Since otherwise his explanation here is sort of wasted. ]
no subject
He follows Shinpachi's line of sight. ...Ah, those.]
These mechanoid-like entities?
no subject
Yeah, those things. They're supposed to guard stuff around here rather than actual humans. [ Something that already just doesn't feel right to him in and of itself, although there's a little more he's thinking about here, judging by the frown on his face that lingers even as he looks back to the other. ]
They've malfunctioned before already though. Thinking a new batch of people brought into this place were criminals and all.. [ Does he have to fill in the blanks on that "and all" as to what said robots would try to do to perceived criminals. ] I don't think we can trust them at all.
