[open] who run the world
Who: ALL THE SINGLE LADIES + any crashers! Anyone is welcome if they hear the noise or just want to join in! (Feel free to assume that someone invited them!)
When: 12/12 ICly.
Where: Athena and Ryuko's apartment.
What: Ryuko wanted to do more girly things, so Athena decides to invite every girl she knows to their place for sleepover.
Rating/Warning: Will update if needed.
[ SLEEPOVER!!!!!!!!!
Athena has been excited for this for a few days now, and has been trying to get Ryuko to be as psyched as she is, but that sure didn't work.
Either way, a sleepover is happening at their place! There's five mattresses laid out on the living room floor (She's not sure how many are coming but she borrowed five from the gym, anyway), already set up with their own sheets. The pillows are stacked by the wall—there's really a lot of them—and some blankets by a small coffee table. The mattresses are pretty big that it could fit 3-4 people to sleep on them.
There's a projector sitting on the living room too, just in case people brought movies with them, conveniently facing the wall. (Probably just link the CereVice to it and it'll show whatever's playing on the CereVice, too.) OR IF YOU HAVE A KARAOKE APP...
Athena brought in some desserts from the cosplay cafe, so there's a lot of pastries. From three different kinds of cake (chocolate, strawberries and creme, and blueberry cheesecake); to red velvet cupcakes; to a buttload of macarons of all sorts of flavours; there really are a lot of sweets. if you arrive early, you might realise that it's just sweets, a bunch of chips, and soda bottles set on the table.
Where's the real food? Archer said he'll have Saber bring it with her, so that's a thing! And Athena thought they could order some delivery, too. Just so everyone gets to eat something they want. Oddly enough, there's also a plate of salt and lime on the table. Hmm, what for?
Well, no one has to look that hard enough for the reason. There's a couple of bottles of tequila and some shot glasses badly hidden in one of the cupboards, so pretty much everybody can see those. If anyone wants to startbody shots drinking with people, then Athena won't stop them. It's a party! And law school gets just as crazy sometimes. Lord knows how much Athena wanted to try and socialise with her fellow budding lawyers, but was just awkward to do so. Thankfully, she's much better at breaking out of her shell now, otherwise, this party wouldn't even be happening. If there's anyone who tries drinking and they look like they shouldn't be (LOOKING AT YOU, MABEL), then Athena will come over and scold them like a mom.
So what else are you waiting for? Come in and take off your shoes, and make yourself comfortable! The bathroom is just down the hall, if you want to change into your jammies.
Let's get this thing started! ]
[ ooc: feel free to make top-levels for certain activities. just mark them with what the activity is in the subject! of course, feel free to set up different prompts for your character, too. post as many activities as you want. the more the merrier!
here is a sample if you ever need to see what I mean!SOMEONE START A SPIN THE BOTTLE/I'VE NEVER GAME.
to anyone not invited but want to tag in: seriously, go ahead! feel free to have your character complain about the noise or check in on the girlsif your name is phoenix wright or simon blackquill. there are some girls who athena didn't invite because she doesn't know them, but if they know anyone in the party then they might have been invited by that friend! IF THERE'S A WILL THERE'S A WAY!!! All the ladies and Zura get in! ]

[She nods several times in response, understanding in response. She knew that people were from different worlds, different times. Which was why she found stories like this rather interesting.]
So I'm assuming that your friend was innocent?
no subject
no subject
...That's stupid. If you're innocent, the evidence should show that to begin with. Falsifying evidence won't solve anything. Nor will it lead to the truth behind the case.
no subject
[ A beat. ] A mock trial was supposed to happen that day, and only Junie - my friend - and the victim knew about the trials' details. The victim died the same way the trial victim died, so there were no other suspects.
You know, I've never really participated in case where we had multiple suspects... but I guess that means the police are doing their job effectively.
no subject
[She didn't expect things to be all that easy, in retrospect. It's a murder case, after all. . .] So basically you're saying that since the death was supposedly done in a way that matched the trial's details, it would only be fair to place suspicion on her? That's stupid. People should always suspect that the murder was done like that in order to raise the suspicion on that person - in this case, your friend - so that they could get off scot free.
And just because a murder looks like the actual case doesn't necessarily mean that's how they actually died. Basically, the correlation itself could be a red herring.
Well, if there isn't a case where there's multiple subjects, it either means that they found enough evidence to indict someone specifically. But having multiple suspects isn't a bad thing. It means that you're doubting a person. Only when you doubt someone can you... find out the truth to trust them again.
no subject
There's a lot more details that I could talk about regarding that case, but we basically revealed four more suspects. The trial lasted for three days and got our not guilty verdict.
My boss taught me to trust my clients, no matter what. We can't doubt them... not even for a second.
no subject
[She's slightly silent at the whole trust issue, at first, however. But soon enough, she speaks again, in somewhat of a droned, voice.] That ideal is naive. While I'm not saying that trusting people is inherently bad. . . and it's not, but trusting people blindly is no good. How can you fully trust someone if you haven't doubted them? That's not trust at all.
It's more akin to false belief, I think. [Inaba smiles a little, though there's clear melancholy written in that smile.] Though I might be wrong... ah, but that's a heavy subject, and I don't really want to talk about it at a sleepover when we're supposed to be having fun.
[It would be better not to dredge up any more of her past pain. Swinging her arms over her head playfully, tossing a cheeky grin in an attempt to hide her emotions.]
Maybe I should tell you a story in return. It's not all that interesting, but it should be a good way to pass the time. Is that okay with you?
no subject
But she's right. A sleepover is no place to dwell on it further, so she just jots that down in her mental notebook under her Inaba files. If she can help this girl in the future and alleviate her pains, then Athena would be really happy. Not for herself, but for Inaba. ]
You don't have to ask. [ She smiles at Inaba and shifts in her seat in preparation for a story. ] You can tell me anything. Sorry if my story was probably boring.
Law's not for everyone.

Alright, I got one. This happened during the summer of my first year in high school. Though admittedly, that just a few months ago for me, seeing as I just ended my first year. Our club, the Student Cultural Society - StuCS for short - was making preparations for our new issue of the StuCS Gazette that we had to print every month. However, since the cultural festival was approaching, we had to make a special edition.
Since I'm the vice president, I was mostly in charge of approving and disapproving articles. And since this was a special edition, the front page article had to be something exciting that would turn everything on its head. The others had given rather stupid ideas for their articles, from pro-wrestling to writing an article about my personal life-- something that I didn't really want. Then it came: my chance to show them what I had.
So I basically showed the other club members a scoop. It was a photo of two of the teachers holding hand as if they were on a date~ Huhu, do you want to see it? I should still have a copy of the photo on my laptop.
[The fact that Inaba is snickering is probably not a good sign. She truly looked like a villain now...]
no subject
She blinks at the story, not exactly sure what to think of it. ]
I don't get it. What's the punchline?
[ Because it sure doesn't seem like there's anything wrong with it. For her, anyway. ]
no subject
Everyone was really surprised when I showed them the picture to the point where they wondered how I would get such an amazing photo. Well, they basically found out that they shouldn't underestimate my investigative skills. But in any case, we all knew it was going to be difficult to publish an article like that... it wouldn't be hard to get our teacher's permission, honestly, since he's a rather laid back kind of guy, but we could have gotten into trouble by the other teachers. Not to mention the fact that we didn't get permission from the subjects of said photo before we printed it.
But we did manage to go off with a bang by releasing the paper during the Beauty Pageant! Ahh, we almost got into trouble, but I managed to smooth things over.
They managed to actually get together in the end and the newspaper actually did well that day, but I haven't written anything as good since then. [Mostly because of the trouble they ran into afterwards. . .] Ahaha, sorry, that really must have been a boring life story. It was just the most recent achievement I could think of.
no subject
WHICH IS NOT BAD AT ALL. ]
So? How did you get the picture, anyway?
[ You can see the spark of curiosity in her eyes. ]
no subject
[She grins wide, looking rather triumphant. Inaba never told anybody when she took the picture, so she's definitely not going to tell anybody now.]
It was a really good picture, though. Almost like one you'd see in those famous magazines.
no subject
Okay, okay. Do you have a copy of that article. Let's see it!
no subject
[She takes out her bag, laptop and all, and opens it -- going through her folders and finding it. At least Inaba is organized enough to have all the StuCS Gazette files in an organized folder by date.]
Ah, here it is. Look.
[It's titled as the "StuCS Gazette: Special Cultural Festival Edition!" and the picture has a middle aged man holding hands with a young in her twenties woman. The angle of the photo is perfect, and it's obvious that the photo was taken in secret since they're not looking directly at the camera.
But they seem to be happy, at least...]
no subject
[ She leans in closer to the screen to get a better look at it. ]
It really does look scandalous, doesn't it?!
no subject
That article really surprised everyone. the social studies teacher Tanaka and the Japanese history teacher Hinata, having their hands clasped together at a cafe...
