Who: Sousei and Tenka
When: 10/25 ; night
Where: theircurrently shared apartment
What: There's a lot of canon to catch up on. Alcohol definitely makes that muchworse better
Rating/Warning: drunk people, Manpain
[Living with Tenka is simultaneously really, really familiar and also a little irritatingly different. Cutting contact for years will do that, he supposes--but nonetheless, as easily as they fall back into the groove of being partners, there's still a lot under the surface that needs to be said.
Neither of them wants to say it, though.
Sousei still doesn't like this place, certainly, and has no intentions of playing along with them--but at the very least, acting as a kendo instructor is calming. It's familiar, and separate from all of this futuristic nonsense, and while he's doing his best to adapt, it isn't bad to have something very like home to ground him.
There's that, and there's Tenka.
So when he gets home from said work, he expects it to be another night of them trying and failing to return to the place they were before, when all they had had to do was be partners, and the understanding came right along with it.]

okay yeah no he's landing on the floor in a heap and honestly just. laughing now.
yeah he's a laughing drunk, who's surprised
still though he's snickering as he sits up and reaches to take another drink]
Workaholic.
no subject
[Slacker.
Sousei just picks up his own cup, because he's also too far gone to bother to regulate his alcohol intake GET THE BIRTHDAY BOY DRUNK: SUCCESS??]
What job did they even assign you? [He's still a little bitter about working for the city, which is why he decided against being a police officer, but. Tenka...]
no subject
Are you for real, homie.
He's just going to gesture to the bottle of sake that he managed to procure seemingly out of thin air-]
Bartender.
no subject
... ... ...anyway.]
... Of course. [Really, CERES? What a waste of talent.]
no subject
He's not entirely sure what soda is though so he didn't get any of that.]
Are you already judging my career? That's rude!
no subject
Well, I suppose it's harmless enough.
[A glance at the alcohol in his hands, and some fuzzy processing, and--]
... ... ... I take that back.
[NOT REALLY HARMLESS.]
no subject
[there's that obnoxious laugh
But no really, Tenka's just going to laugh a lot at that.]
Aw c'mon, we're just having some fun! No big deal!
no subject
It's Tenka + alcohol, what a potent combination.]
We still shouldn't be letting our guards down.
[too late]
no subject
[and that includes letting their guards down
besides-]
It'll be fine. Jeeze. What can they do against the both of us anyway?
no subject
..Also, we're back to this, aren't we.]
If it's my birthday, shouldn't it be that what I say goes? Stop reclaiming it for your own use.
no subject
[so he's just helping obviously]
no subject
[GOD.]
You're as bratty as ever.
no subject
[YEAH, HE SAID IT-]
I don't need to hear that from you though! Just when I try to do something nice for you....
no subject
This is nice for you. Some of us don't care much either way for sake.
[he's still a party pooper.]
no subject
[not that talks of tragedy forced his hand or anything]
no subject
I have no interest in alcohol.
[so there]
no subject
Birthday brat.
[there????]
no subject
This is the celebration, then.
[Hugging out their woes, drowning them in alcohol and dramatic chats.
...lacking, as far as birthday celebrations go. Or maybe it's too much.]
no subject
[MOST DIFFICULT BIRTHDAY BOY EVER-]
What do the Yamainu normally do for your birthday?
no subject
...Dinner. We usually get dinner.
[Mostly because if any of them try to cook like normal, it's a disaster. It's for all of their healths, really.]
That isn't really necessary here, though.
no subject
[Tenka doesn't even remember his own birthday, so it's kind of a pleasant surprise that he remembered Sousei's at all to be honest.
But now he's just humming thoughtfully before slumping on top of the table.]
We can get breakfast tomorrow?
no subject
I wouldn't be opposed.
[...]
We'll have to eat regardless, after all. [and it's not like they're hurting for money now THANKS CERES]
no subject
But now Tenka's yawning even as he grins with his face still against the tabletop.]
Then we can do that. My treat since it's your birthday.
[even though they're both not hurting for moeny but admittedly not hurting for money is a nice lifestyle change for Tenka]
no subject
[He'll accept that it's Tenka's treat, because a) birthday and b) Tenka has plenty of money.
And then he gives Tenka a flat look, even if he's feeling equally sleeping with the alcohol setting in.]
Do not fall asleep on the table.
no subject
Why not? It's our table.
[it's still a table, tenka]
