[OPTION A: CERES TECH & AUTO SHOP

Even a stick in the mud like Edgeworth has needs - and quite a few interests, and some things he missed from home. One of the worst features of this colony, as far as he is concerned, is the sore lack of animal companionship. Unless your pets tagged along with you when you were brought here, you either had to be content with a CYbuddy or nothing. While he missed his dog all the way back in his home world and the two dogs he and Genesis owned back in Death City, it was probably for the best that none of them would be brought here and experience the crazy life he has.

Since he much prefers an actual dog, he isn't going to get a CYbuddy. It just wasn't the same having a robot running at your heels and doing time as a search engine.

That won't stop Edgeworth from passing by to look at the CYbuddies available, though. They sure came in a variety of sizes and shapes - or rather, breeds, if one was so inclined to consider them "breeds" instead of "models" or whatever. Seeing a border collie CYbuddy is making him nostalgic...excuse him while he lingers a bit longer at the dogs...]

[OPTION B: ALSO AT CERES TECH & AUTO SHOP

He does have a much better reason to be at this shop than peering at CYbuddies and telling himself over and over that they won't be the same as real pets. Edgeworth needs a better way to get around the colony quickly, so he is looking at motorcycles. Yes, one of the things he learned from CRAUtown was how to drive a motorcycle because Death City was too cramped for cars.

Most likely he is looking at red models that are good for sidecars. Intently, one might add. This is serious business. Either he gets one now, or continues to save up enough credits for something bigger. Admittedly, he misses driving a real car. At least he had some of that when he was briefly returned home a.k.a. had a canon update.]

[OPTION C: CERES GYMNASIUM; morning

Edgeworth hangs out here every morning to train and spar with people. When he's here, he is NOT wearing his complete suit at all, but instead changes into a long-sleeved, collared white shirt - although the burgundy trousers are still there. He exercises and works on what he knows in the realm of martial arts - which is just enough to give him something to use when he's drawn into a fight, certainly not enough to win any awards - and can be seen using this gorgeous blade when it's time to work on his sword skills. They're not that impressive, really, but they're something, since they've kept him alive so many times.

Feel free to bug him; he doesn't mind gathering up more sparring partners and teachers. You may catch him in the middle of a session or just as he's wrapping up and getting ready to haul his butt to work.

BONUS: If you're here REALLY early, between 6 and 7 AM, you might catch him swimming laps in the pool. Dem abs. I'M SORRY MOVING ON - ]

[OPTION D: SHOPPING DISTRICT

One side effect to learning how to use a sword is the sword nerdery that comes with it. Occasionally, Edgeworth stops by weapon shops to look at the display of swords with a careful eye, his own sword carried in a scabbard strapped to his belt. While he likes his trusty saber enough, there may come a time when he'll consider picking up a spare blade.

IT HONESTLY SOMETIMES MAKES HIM FEEL LIKE THE STEEL SAMURAI.

[ Mitsuru wasn't here for anything serious, she just brought her bike in for a tune up and clean. So she'll be visiting the auto shop today as well. The helmeted and suited Mitsuru arrives at the Auto Shop in a flurry of noise, pulling into the garage area with a loud rumble of the engine.

And when I say loud, I mean real loud. ]

OMG that bike in her icon looks so snazzy

[The loud rumble is enough to startle Edgeworth from his reverie (reminiscing about his reliable motorcycle from not-so-long ago), and he whips around to look for the source of the sound. It's coming from the garage.

Judging from that sound, the bike might be in need of some maintenance work. He follows the noise toward the bike and its rider, peering into the garage area to see who it was. Sadly he can't tell who the rider is, with that helmet and suit on.]

[ Athena's warming up at the gym, doing some stretches and jogging around in the small dojo she's working in before starting the whole sparring session. After stretching, she sets up some mats on the floor since that's where they'll be practising. She'd normally ask the person with her to help out, or do it themselves, since the student has to learn too! But this is Edgeworth we're talking about. Athena finds the man too admirable to make him do something so mundane.

And when she's done... ]

Alright, Mr. Edgeworth. You ready? [ She says as she hits her open palm with her fist. The grin on her face totally spells out "psyched and ready to go". ]

[Honestly, Edgeworth would have volunteered to lay down the mats himself, but he was busy stretching as well and just as he was wrapping up, Athena had already set things up. She must be so psyched.

...and she sounds like it, too. He gives her a small but ready grin.]

[Blackquill has already become a regular at the gym in his short time here. The familiarity of routine has an odd comfort to it; back in prison, it constituted some of the precious few hours spent outside the confines of his cell, and honing his body meant his mind was kept sharp as a blade, too. Even here, he sees no reason to let his iron-shattering standards slip, and sticks to a strict routine of bench presses and pushups.

Once he's finished for the morning, he pauses by the training room, noticing Edgeworth practising inside with his sword. Curious, he enters, a towel around his neck and arms crossed.

Don't mind future-kouhai, he's content to watch a fellow swordsman at work without disrupting his flow.]

[Edgeworth seems to be caught up in his routine, performing the passes, stances, and strikes that make up the exercises drilled into him ever since he began seriously working on his fighting skills. After being chased around by security droids upon arrival here and fighting mysterious masked people, he certainly cannot afford to slack off.

As he turns, raising his sword in a defensive position, he notices Blackquill and catches his eye, but doesn't stop just yet. Instead, he continues going through the motions, fighting imaginary enemies, before winding down slowly to a stop and finally acknowledging the other lawyer's presence.]

Ah...Prosecutor Blackquill. [He lowers the sword.]

[That this has become a regular thing is hardly something that bothers Sousei; to the contrary, he much prefers having a sparring partner who, while not at his level, is 100% serious about it. Not even Tenka is 100% serious about his sword work, though they're often evenly matched.

So Edgeworth, in a way, is a breath of fresh air.

Sousei lowers his sword, nodding simply.]

That was acceptable. [this is about as close as he gets to praise until you really shock him, sorry, serious tea buddy friend.

He's curious about Edgeworth's legitimate sword, though. Maybe today he'll actually ask about it.]

[Edgeworth gives a little smile in return. He has to admit, all this work sparring with others of different skill levels is doing wonders to ensure that he doesn't get rusty.]

Thank you, Sousei. [Getting praise doesn't mean much to him anyway, so it doesn't bother him that Sousei is stingy with it. Edgeworth takes out a handkerchief and mops his forehead, thoroughly worked out but still riding the last wave of exhilaration sparring has begun to give him lately.]

[ Pearl is just wandering the shops, trying to get to know the city a bit better. She might already be a bit lost, but only a bit. She's saving her map for when she's really desperate, as she might as well explore while she's out and about. Though she's trying not to get caught into buying things... she has probably already spent too many of her credits on silly things for someone who's only been here just a few days.

Spotting Edgeworth, she'll hurry on over, looking to see what he's checking out. ]

Hi Mr Edgeworth! Are you going to buy one of those... dog pet things?

[ What the heck is a CYbuddy. Are they cute, because that's the important thing here. ]

I always thought you seemed like a dog person. [ Because you're so friendly and lovable, Edgeworth. ]

[At the sound of footsteps, Edgeworth turns - ah, Pearl. She would be right, though. He rather likes dogs.]

Er...no. It's not the same as having a real dog.

[ Unlike him, Tieria is looking for a motorbike because it's more convenient to travel with one than car. But because he can't afford one yet, he's just there to browse and get an estimate of how much credits he needs to save up for. One of the sales assistant is recommending him several models before trying to show him some cars to. Since he isn't buying now and has explicitly told the sales assistant, he's just going to keep his option open and let him recommends whatever he wants. ]

This one sir, would suit your eyes perfectly. [ The sales assistant, Terry, it says on his nametag, smiles as he points to the same red car Edgeworth is currently viewing. Tieria gives Edgeworth a nod, hoping that they're not interrupting him. ]

What's the specification?

[Edgeworth nods back, stepping away to allow Tieria and the sales assistant to check out the car. But he does take out his organizer and pen to note this car model down for future reference, should he finally earn enough for a car.]

[Tadashi's only been in Cerealia for a week now, which means he barely knows what he's doing, let alone knows all the details about this new job of his.

Still, it's not exactly a tough one. He works with CYbuddies, robotic pets, which he honestly thinks is pretty amazing. He has yet to bring one home, but he wants to after he saves up a bit. It's been weird not having Mochi around, after all.

The tech part is easy. It didn't take him long to get the hang of the robotics. It's different than what he's used to, sure, but he caught on pretty quick. The costumer service part isn't so bad, either. He had spent more days than he could count helping out in the Lucky Cat Cafe, so he knew he way around a costumer.

But that didn't change the fact that he was new, and it probably showed.

He's been in the back, working maintenance on a CYbuddy brought in for repairs, when he steps back out and notices someone taking a look at the new pets for sale.]

Can I help you, sir?

[Edgeworth turns and blinks.]

Ah...thank you, but I was just browsing. [He gestures to the new dog models.]

[Hinata's more of a work-out-in-the-afternoon kind of guy, but when one has a restless night and wakes up way too early... well, working off some steam first thing in the morning before he has to go to work isn't bad, either.

He's focused on the punching bag, going through some easy and familiar motions, counters, punches, gradually working into more complex maneuvers, before he actually glances around.]

Huh. [And spies Edgeworth doing some martial arts of his own... So he comes here in the mornings? After he waits for a moment that he won't throw him off:] Morning, Edgeworth.

[prosecutory]

[And Hinata's greeting is timed perfectly just as Edgeworth enters the cooldown stage of his exercises. He can still talk while stretching out his arms and legs.]

Ah...good morning, Hinata.

[ Okay, so at least Heung Soo has a pretty normal reason to be out here like this. Walking around the shopping district and picking up and delivering packages is literally his job, after all.

But as he's walking around.. well, something catches his eye. And that something is definitely Edgeworth standing there. Staring into the window of a weapon shop. With a sword.

... he thought you were okay, Edgeworth. Why are you doing this to him. Why are you a nerd. It's even worse since that's the shop Heung Soo has to deliver something and he can't just walk by without the other noticing?!

Well, being direct is his involuntary speciality. So he just waltzes right over, glancing at Edgeworth as he's holding onto the package. ]

Is it that interesting? [ A little flatly.....

He suddenly feels 100% less uncool after Nam Soon made fun of him the last time. ]

[prosecutory]

[At the sound of a familiar voice, Edgeworth turns and blinks. Ah, it's Heung Soo.]

Ah...I was just admiring the workmanship of this particular blade. [He gestures to the rapier he was examining.]

[Edgeworth probably doesn't notice Leia's yawn as she enters the pool area; and similarly, the sound of his strokes as he does his laps seem faded and far away. When she closes her eyes, it's hard to open them again, though the smell of chlorine does wake her up a bit.

Sleepily, to herself:]

Well, this'll be different than jogging. Athena won't blame me for changing things up a bit.

[Clad in her swimsuit, she lazily drops her towel onto one of the seats, and starts to put up her hair in its usual bun.

Then, she'll notice, eyes widening a bit.]

Oh. Someone's already here.

[After she's ready, she stretches and approaches the pool where Edgeworth is doing his laps--wondering if it's anyone she knows.]

[He doesn't notice her arrive, predictably, but at least he doesn't go so fast (speed isn't his strong point) that he'd be an unrecognizable blur. When he reaches the end, he stops, leaning against the side of the pool and slicking his wet hair back from his face. Squinting, he notices someone approaching him...a girl, in a swimsuit, her hair pulled back in a bun.]

...What is it? [Wait, this is pretty early. Normally there weren't a lot of people this girl's age around the pool at this time, and that was precisely why he was here. He wasn't expecting to strike up a conversation with a young lady while he's wearing nothing but a pair of red swim trunks.]

[Rei was not a swordsman, but she was curious about them, and after having talked a bit to Sousei about learning at least the basics so that she could have a weapon with her that wasn't one of the enormous longbows favored in Kyudo it's only natural that she'd end up in a sword shop. She needed at least a practice sword before going in to talk with him, after all.

She's just picked up a shinai and is giving it a tentative, unsteady, and frankly almost childish swing when Edgeworth walks in. Frowning she knows that's wrong, and something feels off. It's far, far too long for her and throwing off her balance, and it's obvious she doesn't realize it. She picks up another and tries again...but this one's even longer...

Please help this girl...she's clueless about melee weaponry...]

It's fine, NEVER TOO LATE

[Edgeworth notices Rei give the shinai a practice swing. It's a bit...tentative. Then she tries another. Both of the weapons she had selected were too long for her, making it clear that she might be new to this. Edgeworth knows how that feels, trying out unfamiliar weaponry.

He walks over to the display and selects a shorter shinai for her automatically. If she keeps this up, she might either hurt herself or hit something in the store accidentally, so he better do something.]

Here. This might be better for you. [Proffering Rei the practice weapon is a start. And hanging around Sousei has helped him out, too.]

D, I'm also late too

[Despite all the new gadgets this world had to offer, sometimes, Anna was feeling a little homesick. Sure, hot showers and instant hot food were amazing but it didn't stop her from wanting to be reminded a little of home.

As she went through the weapons stores, the princess had to eye a little at the swords nearby. Maybe it wasn't quite like the swords back home but, hey, it was something!]

What is late, but an illusion

[Edgeworth has learned not to judge the kinds of people who wielded weapons; children half his age have been able to beat him in a scrap, so he thinks nothing of Anna looking at the swords. Who knows, she might be a better fighter than he is.

So for now, he takes down a sheathed rapier from a nearby display to examine it further, gripping the hilt, drawing the blade halfway out to peer at his reflection in the steel.]

[ Not that Jaune would ever consider a new sword, given the heritage of his own Crocea Mors, but every now and then he likes to window shop... mostly out of boredom. All of his friends are either at school or at work for most of the day.

Edgeworth's saber is hard to miss, especially for a guy who's from a world where swords are almost a rare thing. Everyone in Remnant has ridiculous weapons, this is a fact. ]

Whoa, you fight with a sword, too?

[He blinks, looking at Jaune, and nods in response. Why does this guy seem so surprised?]

Er...yes, but many other people do.

[ Oh, he vaguely recognizes Edgeworth from his initial arrival with the robotic killer ninjas. They'd briefly had a conversation on laws of physics governing other worlds — or rather, the lack thereof. Nevertheless, he's staring fixedly at the swords, genuinely scrutinizing them, when he catches sight of him in his peripheral vision. ]

What type of sword do you typically prefer?

[ It's a nonchalant question for the most part, only idly directed at his companion, save for the fact that he sounds hella' PUMPED about it. Glancing up at the older man for the better portion of a second before running his hand down the hilt of a rapier. Maybe he should buy, like, three ... one for back-up, one for home storage, and one to illicitly keep in his workplace's storage closet ... ]

[Edgeworth also vaguely recognizes Elliot. They had quite the conversation that was steered into talking about the prosecutor's experiences in yet another world. But the name...he can't quite put his finger on it. Had they even introduced themselves?]

The sword I use constantly is a saber; I prefer thinner blades as opposed to broadswords, but I do have experience wielding a...more unique broadsword.

[More like...a man who could transform into a six-foot flaming broadsword.]

[Phoenix had stopped by the gym to run a little on the treadmill. He also wasn't wearing his usual suit, but his hobo getup. Just minus the beanie at the moment. But he gets lost in the gym and then he comes across Edgeworth during one of his fencing sessions. He watches on in surprise.

Now that's new.

He'll approach Edgeworth whenever he reaches some kind of lull or break in his fights.]

[Edgeworth pauses to reexamine and arrange his stance, and after doing so, he glances up - and notices a very familiar hobo. Except that this time, Phoenix had left his hobo days behind now. For good, Edgeworth hopes.

He grins a bit, lowering his sword.]
