[Archer was fully cringing at the emblem Athena made and the fact that it was pasted on his apron. Well, inwardly at least. Athena got to have her way with the things went around here since she was the one who put in the money and most of the work. That meant her lame idea of what was great ended up plastering almost anything that had the surface for it.

But for a food stall, there was a serious lack of menu. Archer, though, intentionally wanted that. Restricting himself would only be admitting that he couldn't make things that people wanted outside of said menu. Obviously, there were some restrictions because supplies of some things were exceedingly rare or impossible to find. Which meant that rich people places had to be visited for that. But here were reasonable prices for fresh cooked food.]

Before you ask, there's no menu. So just tell me what you want.

[Customer service needed a little bit of work, however. And no, Saber, you weren't getting any free food.]

And there were some instances where I was walking around and they thought I was a kid. [ If anything riled Athena up, this was it. ] They kept telling me to go home, and wanted to drag me back to the apartment.

Hmph... I would do more than hit them, if they attempted to drag me anywhere. This isn't the clink, after all.

If they act up again, I'll take the matter to Sir Hellsing. Though whether she has any authority over them, or whether it resides with CERES, I couldn't say.

That's a good point. I don't think the CEO would let any of us be in charge of the robots.

Otherwise, they likely wouldn't malfunction.

And what a tragedy that would be, if he no longer had technological failure to blame for all that goes awry in this colony.

The others seem to be on the edge when it comes to the CEO because of all the glitches, but... there was this lady who said that the CEO was busy doing other things to keep us safe that one part of the code became neglected. What's more, he finally brought back some people from home, so I guess I'm not really mad at him for the strange happenings.

Hmph... [Blackquill has to concede he can't be too angry at him when he'd rescued Athena, either. Even so...]

If the robots are dangerous, they should be disabled and taken in for repairs, not left to run amok. That ought to be common sense.

Maybe they were.

[ She just sighs as she rests her cheek on her palm. ]

I hope we'll all get more information soon. [ It looked like she was going to rest and relax after letting out that sigh, but it sure doesn't seem that way anymore. ] I want to show those Flamines a thing or two!

....Athena. If we stood even the tiniest shred of a chance against the Flamines, do you think we'd be here right now?

If we all work together and get enough information, then I'm sure something can be done!

I'm not going to sit here and just let the Flamines eat more worlds just because it's a sport for them. It's disgusting!

And what was that you mentioned about the Flamines destroying worlds for sport? Is that their true motive?

I learned it from a lady who posted to the network a few weeks ago. The post disappeared after a couple of hours, but some of us managed to strike a conversation with her.

The post was filtered from the people working under CERES, so it was only the ones who were brought here who were able to see it.

Interesting... Which suggests CERES was either keeping that information from us, or they do not know that particular detail themselves.

What else were you able to glean from her?

She wanted to find people who were "worthy" of her proposal for progress. She didn't specify what it was yet, but our objective now is to "survive".

[ ... she won't tell Simon that Lilith found her worthy for now. ]

[Even if she doesn't say it, he's shrewd enough not to discount it as a possibility. Silence can speak just as loud as words.]

Not setting the bar very high, then, is she? Survival is all we can do in this wretched place.

Surviving could mean a lot of things.

Death doesn't seem to be permanent here, but it seems it can cause some damage to your code, the more times it happens. Not to mention, there have been people who were brought here, but are now considered missing.

[ Speaking of— ] Do you know Mr. Gavin?

The rockstar prosecutor? Yes, he was a colleague of mine, years ago... [Who hasn't heard of him, would be the better question.] Or do you refer to his brother, the convicted attorney?
