Mystery Hunting in the Amusement Park

[Today is a busy day for the Pines twins. They've got a lot to do, and of course they don't mind some company while doing it!

To start off the day, bright and early the twins arrive to the carnival, backpacks on back and notepads in hand. Or well, just one hand. Dipper's, that is.]

Alright Mabel, today we're gonna search every single crack of this place, to find out anything we can about the people who brought us here. A carnival that appeared out of nowhere like this? That's definitely suspicious, especially since the rides are so deadly, for lack of a better word. I mean the people keeping us here are supposed to protect us, aren't they? [He sighs and shakes his head.]

Anyway, you look over on that side and I'll stick to this side. Make note of anything that's weird and try not to die on any of the rides. [And with that, the two twins split. So, if you come to the carnival this morning, you'll find them searching everything they can for clues or suspicious things, either alone or together on the rides, at the prizes, the foodstands... anywhere.]

Dipper as the Candy Clerk

[Later this afternoon, you can find Dipper working at a local candy shop, wearing the shop's uniform and a warm smile on his face. While you browse the store, he'll come up with a platter of a variety of organ shaped gummies, and shove it your way.]

Hi! Would you like to try a free sample? I know they look pretty gross but I can guarantee that they're really good! [He picks up one of the eerily realistic looking gummy hearts and eats it, giving a thumbs up.]

I mean the red liquid in the middle kind of makes it weird, but we've all wanted to try cannibalism at one point right? Right? [Dipper that's not how you sell your food..]

Mabel as the Grocery Store Attendant

[Or maybe today you are doing some grocery shopping! Maybe you're looking a little lost, or are trying to find something, or you're doing just fine and minding your own business. No matter what you're doing though, there's going to be this happy little girl in her white blouse, black slacks and little apron bouncing up to you with smile.]

Hello! How are you today? Are you finding everything okay?

[Don't discount her just because she's barely over 4' feet tall. She is Very Professional! Is there anything Mabel can help you with?]

[And of course, you can find either of them flitting around the city in general too! Maybe you'll run into them shopping or playing games either alone or together, or you'll come across them eating some greasy food option together while going over their notes and clues and evidence gathered from the theme park! You can catch them just about anywhere but the Pleasure District, so feel free to make up your own adventure.]

[You better believe the minute Kuzuryuu found out they have food stalls here, he knew where he'd be eating lunch for basically all of the forseeable future. He's walking through the park-like portion of the food stop, munching on takoyaki and trying to figure out where he wants to sit when he notices a familiar headbanded head a little ways away. A headbanded head sitting next to a hatted head that's not actually familiar but kind of is because twins.]

[Kuzuryuu comes to a stop on the other side of the twins' table, glancing down at those notes they're pouring over like the nerds they are. At least he speaks up fairly quickly and doesn't just stand there staring like a weirdo or anything.]

So...this must be Dipper then, huh?

[Guess who, Mabel.]

[Look these are important notes! Even if half of them are doodled on with very pink notes penned in in the margins! Though thank you for not just staring like some kind of weirdo, Kuzuryuu. Not that you are a weirdo, but it's good that you are further proving that point.

At the question though, the girl looks up instant from the notes and then just gives him a bright grin, standing up in her seat.]

Fuyuhiko!!

[And then she places a hand on Dipper's head, wiggling it a little.]

Dipper, Dipper this is the guy I was telling you about!

Huh? [Dipper hadn't noticed Kuzuryuu approach their table or even speak, being too immersed in his notes. But he did snap out of his little world when Mabel put her hand on his head, and he looks from his notes to give Kuzuryuu a bit of a confused stare.]

The.. guy? [He reaches up to take Mabel's hand off his head, now giving her the slightly confused stare.]

[Wow what a nerd.]

Kuzuryuu Fuyuhiko. I'm... one of Peko's classmates. [Because surely Dipper knows all about Mabel's "best friend" Peko Pekoyama.] Mabel mentioned she had a twin brother back when we first met. I wondered when I'd finally run into you.

Come on Dipper I told you about Fuyuhiko at least once now. Probably a few more times than that even! The suit guy Peko was looking for?

[Just going to gently punch her brother's arm before turning her attention back to The Guy.]

But yup, anyway, like you probably guessed this is my brother! He probably just forgot because he was busy with his "conspiracy theories" when I was talking. [At "conspiracy theories", Mabel lifts her hands and wiggles her fingers all spooky like.]

Oh! Right, the suit guy! [He rubs his arm where she punched it, looking a bit annoyed at her talking about his conspiracy theories teasingly. He nudges her, actually, at the finger wiggles and gives Kuzuryuu a smile.]

Right, yeah. I'm Dipper... it's uh, nice to meet you. [Offering... a handshake?]

[impheired]

...suit guy......

[Oh my god, Mabel what? SUIT GUY? It's not technically WRONG but...still. What the hell.]

Nice to meet you too. [Yeah, sure, he'll do the handshake thing.] Conspiracy theories, huh?

[He'll just go back to looking at Dipper's notebook, trying to read it despite the fact that it's upside down for him. And...possibly written in English so he can't even read it? Do you write in Tellus Common or English, Dipper? Because if it's the latter, he might actually just have to make do with looking at Mabel's margin doodles.]

[Mabel finally plops back down in her seat, absolutely beaming. Friends making friends with her brother, her favorite thing.]

Yeah! Because...originally Peko just told me to look for someone about your height, as old as her, wearing a suit. I didn't have your name so I wasn't sure what to call you and I never thought to ask...

[Which she'll be the first to admit was kind of dumb oops.]

Yeah! Conspiracy theories. Usually they're pretty wacky but he's actually got some really smart ones for what's going on. [But she's not going to be the one to share them apparently, looking expectantly at Dipper. That's his thing, and she doesn't want to steal his thunder.

And if he DOES write in English, that's okay, because Mabel's margin doodles are better anyway. Little doodles of tape measures labeled "time devices", talks about Blarblar or Blandon or Blendin. Angry looking chubby guy with a tiny lock of hair and an angry face pointing to the hair itself. There are also, on some of the loose sheets of paper laying about, doodles of those santa machines from the roller coaster ride, with little devil tails and horns added, and some talk about how it's rude to make santa so evil.

Mabel kind of glances back over at Kuzuryuu after a moment.]

You can sit down if you want! You don't have to keep standing there, you know. I promise it's my bite you have to worry about more than Dipper's!

[Said with a giggle and a tooth-y, braces-y grin.]
