[Keeping one's skills the best that they can possibly be means training whenever possible. Flynn hasn't had much time for it, but either ViViD or the dojo get visited every day. Today's choice is the dojo in order to beat up some dummies to sharpen a few skills. A couple artes have felt a little off form-wise so best to work all the kinks out before using them in a potential battle.

Before coming here, he'd returned home to put on all his armor and grabbed both sword and shield. Why train without the proper equipment? It's either all or nothing and Flynn isn't one to do things half-assed. His training methodology is the same. Each movement made has purpose and strategy to it. Practice it might be, but it gets taken as seriously as any battle. His attacks hit hard but lack their full strength. The purpose of this is refining artes, not beating a fake training tool senseless.

A slice downward here, an uppercut there and follow up with a Demon Fang. Flynn jumps up and backward, unleashing a Hell Pyre at it. A frown forms on his face as he lands. The damage is decent, as evidenced by the scorched dummy, but the timing is off by a small fraction. That won't do.]

<sub>[Taking his broadsword, Ruca decided to go train a little in the dojo today. No matter how much he'd rather spend all days studying or reading, training is still important. Who knows when they would have to fight and it would be best if he doesn't forget how to fight.

Though, in his case it would be hard to actually forget that.

While inside the dojo Ruca notices a knight. The boy stand somewhere close and watches the other train. A moment later his eyes widen in surprise when he sees a very familiar skill – the Demon Fang. This knight can use artes just like Ruca and that's quite a surprise!

So does that mean they're from the same world? The boy keeps observing in silence, but it probably won't be long before the other will notice him.]</sub>

[That assumption is right on the money. After scrutinizing his angle of attack a moment longer, Flynn feels as though someone's watching him. A quick glance around reveals a young boy staring in his direction. If that large sword is anything to go buy, he's likely planning on getting some training done, as well.

Oh! He isn't getting in the way of that, is he? No one else was here so Flynn'd made himself at home and taken up a good chunk of space. Whoops. He smiles gently.]

_{[When the knight speaks to him, Ruca blinks a few times, shakes his head and smiles awkwardly.]}

A, n-no... I-I mean...! _{[He's making the best first impression, doesn't he? Ruca scratches his cheek nervously as he averts his gaze from the other.]} I'm sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt... but I was a little surprised to see someone who also uses artes.

[Flynn meant to say something about the boy not interrupting anything, but the second part of that comment derails his train of thought instantly. Curiosity replaces that pleasant expression.]

You can use artes, too?

[Is this someone else from his world then? Huh, how unexpected.]

_{[He makes a thoughtful look. This is strange. Back home only Avatars can use artes, but... if this person was an Avatar wouldn't he already recognize Ruca as Asura?]}

[flynn both looks and sounds confused. naraka? that's not a familiar sounding place. is it a new city or a smaller town he'd maybe not heard of?]

No, I've never heard of a city by that name. Which continent is it on?

[ah, that would explain why he's never heard of it. good to know his geography skills aren't subpar, after all. despite it being a shame, flynn still smiles.]

So we're not from the same place. Mine's called Terca Lumireis.

But it's interesting that both our worlds have artes. Do you need a blastia to use them, as well?

They're what enable people to use artes. [sans estellise but she's special] Mine is this gem right here.

[he points to the center of the circle of gems on his chest. the center one does have an odder coloration than the rest.]

Can a lot of people use them or only a few?

I know it's a bit sudden, but would you mind showing me what you can do?

<sub>[Ruca somewhat hesitantly gets into the fighting stance himself. The big sword definitely looks like it should be too heavy to him, but he doesn't look like he has any trouble holding it.

There is a moment of silence, before he unleashes Demon Fang at the other.]</sub>

[flynn can't help but be impressed at the fact ruca can wield a sword like that without difficulty. proof to never judge a book by its cover.

the starting arte is all too familiar and easily side-stepped. despite all the armor, flynn's surprising agile and closes the distance between them in no time. once close enough, a sword rain comes ruca's way.]

He reacts quickly and tries to block the incoming attack. When he gets the chance this time he decides to use Crescent Strike.]</sub>

[not an arte flynn's familiar with, though it resembles one Judith uses, and it's one gets deflected via the use of his shield. the strength behind the attack isn't anything laughable, either. ruca's definitely a worthy opponent.

once having parried the blade off to the side with the shield, he follows it up with a dragon swarm (done properly, unlike the way SOME people do it).]
