Who: Pharos and you!
When: December 18th.
Where: Apartments; shopping district.
What: Pharos was offered three jobs. Why not try them all out in a single day?
Warnings: None.
[Hello citizens of Cerealia! It's a beautiful day for weird encounters, wouldn't you say? What kind of weird encounters you may wonder. Overly large and affectionate demons? A three-headed dog with loads of slobber? The zombie apocalypse? Skeleton Wars: The Phantom Menace?
Sadly, no.
What you may or may not stumble upon is a certain, pajama clad boy trying out each of the jobs he was offered upon his arrival. Wouldn't really want to commit to something without knowing what it entails.]
morning
[There is nothing quite like reading the newspaper in the morning, right? A cup of coffee or tea or whichever beverage you prefer with the news of the hour spread out in front of you, there really is nothing comparable. Or maybe you prefer to sleep in because your day ended at four in the morning and you're in dire need of sleep? Perhaps not a morning person?
Either way, Pharos has instructions to drop off the holo-newspaper without fail. No one would want a newspaper boy who doesn't know how to bring people their reading material in the mornings, right? So he'll do the polite thing and ring the doorbell at whichever o'clock in the morning to deliver it safe and sound.
Nevermind the fact that he's supposed to do this quietly.
If you happen to be up and about and open the door, you will find Pharos standing on your doormat. Smiling up at you. And greeting you with a 'Good morning', chipper as can be.
If you happen to still be asleep and don't hear or wake up and decide to ignore the ringing, there will be silence for a few seconds. Then you'll get a lapful of holo-newspaper courtesy to the young boy now standing in whichever room you're in.
Teleportation skills and no sense of personal space come in handy sometimes.]
lunch
[Tired from your morning filled with exploring/sparring/tricking people/being tricked by people/work?
Pharos will be standing outside of a coffee shop, holding a tray with a handful of small cups and a thermos bottle filled with what appears to be coffee. Hot coffee. Coffee which smells utterly delicious. The aroma calls to you, sings to you. The coffee really is that good. Maybe it is actually ambrosia. You won't know until you try it.
Dressed somewhat like the Cheshire cat, Pharos will taking his job as mascot very seriously and will be offering poor, weary wayward travelers some coffee as well as a cheerful looking balloon which may or may not pass as coffee bean if you squint hard enough.
And cock your head to the side.]
afternoon
[The lights have grown dimmer as the hours have ticked by, soft and orange and yellow. While some of the shops begin to close, one door-sign is finally flipped from Closed to Open. The sign in front of the door reads 'The Wheel of Fortune – Get your prediction while it's still accurate!' Should you decide to enter, you'll find a single table manned by Pharos, kicking his legs and his chin propped up on his hands.
Clearly, he's been waiting for someone to come in so he can read them their fortune.
Perhaps your character is just settling down, maybe they've already received their fortune and are bemused by it. What kind of prediction is 'Your shoes will make you happy today' anyway? Perhaps you've asked for something more elaborate than a short prediction and are now wondering why in the world the kid is pulling out tarot cards. Aren't those a little outdated?
Careful though, some predictions may hit very close to home...]
evening – bonus
[Maybe you've encountered Pharos during all three scenarios and are wondering whether or not the kid is stalking you. Or if he has two identical brothers and this is just a group of triplets.
Or create your own scenario.]
(note: For the fortune telling, your character will probably get fortune cookie predictions or, if they get a tarot reading, one I'll generate online. I'll be sure to pm you first to ask for permission if I end up using canon information though the wording of the canon prediction would be pretty vague.)

I'm sure it wouldn't hurt.
[ After all, she's already in here and she might as well see this out. ]
no subject
[Pharos points to the chair opposite of his, reaching below the table to pull out a deck of tarot cards. He places them on the center of the table, a questioning look in his eyes.]
Would you prefer a short prediction or a full reading?
no subject
[ She hurriedly takes her seat in front of Pharos, placing her hands in her lap. ]
A full reading, if you don't mind.
[ There was something about him that was rather... compelling. Familiar? Nah, he couldn't be. ]
no subject
[Pharos nudges the pile of cards towards Mitsuru, smiling at the familiar face of the white and blue mask and the jagged corners of the sun behind it. A gift from the shop owner when Pharos asked if he could use the deck design he had in mind.
He does wish he could place his finger on why Mitsuru seems so familiar.]
Please shuffle the cards with your left hand only while thinking about your future. Then reassemble them and I will be able to get started.
omg i am so sorry i lost the notif
Ah, she should be thinking about the future, shouldn't she?
She concentrates mostly on Minako, on SEES, on coming to Cerealia, on her new friends and rebuilding herself up in this new and foreign place. And then she gives a thought to her own world, about rebuilding it.
It's with that thought that she puts the deck back into one pile, smiles faintly at Pharos and speaks. ]
Pardon my forwardness, but have we met before?
asdfgh I feel you, dw ate mine. :/
Oh.
It's like a small piece of a puzzle sliding into place, like a door finally opening. He didn't recognize her at first because he was only barely aware during the day, recuperating and growing and letting his own pieces find his way back home.
His legs curl beneath his body almost lazily but the smile on Pharos' face is wide and his eyes are alight with the realization. He leans forward, one hand braced on the table as he points at Mitsuru's forehead, Fingers curled into the distinctive shape of a gun.]
Perhaps not directly.
no subject
Are you...
[ She doesn't want to venture too far down this route, but this boy has an aura about him which was eerily familiar. Mitsuru's not entirely sure where, but she has felt it before.
It clicks into place, just a tiny bit.
Mitsuru takes out her Evoker and places it on the table between them. ]
A part of Nyx?
no subject
She could have kept the Evoker where it had been before.
Quietly, Pharos sits back, contemplating his answer. He wonders how she knows but do the how and why really matter? His fingers drift over to the pile of tarot cards, plucking up the first one and placing it down on the table.
Death. Of course.]
What makes you wonder?
no subject
None of these thoughts get vocalised for the time being. ]
You have the same air as...
[ This is all just conjecture, but there was the same air as the plumes of dusk, the same air that engulfed them when they fought Nyx and just the little lingering traces of it when a boy around her age appeared with a bright yellow scarf. ]
Ryoji Mochizuki. He was Nyx's avatar. Surprisingly human for what he was.
[ Her eyes glance to the Evoker again. The move was a power play, to show that she could try and fight him, but whether she would be successful at it, nobody knows. Probably not. ]
no subject
Pharos looks down to the Evoker, eyebrows furrowed together. That role he's familiar with because it is his own. But the name... How is it connected to himself and Nyx?
Slowly, Pharos reaches out and plucks up another card from the pile.
The Fortune.
Curious and curiouser. Especially considering who mixed the cards in the first place.]
I'm not familiar with that name.
[He places the card sideways above the Death card before glancing up at Mitsuru, a small smile on his lips. His fingers brush over the Evoker briefly before they come to rest on the table.
Surprisingly human for what he was.]
I wonder...
no subject
Curious. ]
Are you familiar with the name "Minako Arisato" at all?
[ This is a strange scene, with the Evoker on her side and the tarot cards laid out on his. Mitsuru's no stranger to strange scenarios, but at the same time, he was from her world. Yet she couldn't place him. ]
no subject
[There is no hesitation in his voice and this time, Pharos doesn't pick up another card. He doesn't have to. He knows which card would be staring back at him. ...Or perhaps it would be something unexpected after all.]
...he's my friend. [There is still something akin to wonder in his voice. What has grown from the accident which happened all those years ago is difficult to put into words. Friendship seems too small.]
no subject
[ Mitsuru lets out a small intake of breath that she didn't know she was holding. So this boy, whoever he was, knew the male Minako. The rabbit hole deepens further.
She notes his hesitation in his turning of the card, as if he knew what it was. ]
The girl I know as Minako Arisato is the same person... but female. She had the ability to summon multiple Personas amongst other things.
[ Her head tilts towards the deck of cards, indicating that Pharos should draw again. ]
At your leisure, if you will.
no subject
[A female Minato. Minako. How curious though Pharos doesn't believe the difference would have mattered in the long run. He would have befriended her as well, wouldn't he? The essence, the soul is the same and it's so easy to form attachment to the wild card.
Pharos taps the next card against his chin before he places it on the table as well.
It is as he thought.
The Fool is staring up at them both and if this is a representation of their precious friend then surely...
What comes next is the Empress.
Pharos stares at the card for a few seconds, trying to gauge what will happen next. What they are doing now is playing a game. He doesn't intend to hurt Mitsuru. She is Minato's friend, is she not? But she is after something and everything, especially information, comes at a cost. He places it down next to the others slowly, tapping it with his finger.]
Are you scared of Nyx?
no subject
[ Her voice didn't waver as she said this, but she became quieter. Though she was in Cerealia and the world was in a way reset, she still bore the cross of her family's sins. ]
My family did things with Shadows and Death that should have never been attempted, and for that - there is regret. But Minako led me away from my fear and for that I am eternally grateful.
[ Did her grandfather feel this way when he discovered the plumes of dusk? Is this what her father felt when he saw Tartarus for the first time? ]
