Who: Hide (
scaryintuition) & Weiss (
multiglyphs)
When: IC: Sometime after 12/15
Where: Weiss' apartment
What: Weiss allows Hide to help her organize the Secret Santa.
Rating/Warning: None
[Ever since their conversation Hide has been eagerly awaiting the day of their meeting. It had been a whim on his part to offer his help with the Secret Santa; after all Weiss had seemed like she had everything under control. But Hide was used to making himself useful. He has helped organize club events and culture festivals, even events for clubs he wasn't a member of. He loved the collaboration that came with organizing big events. Of seeing how everyone's ideas merged together creatively to create a really good time.
The Secret Santa would be a little different. Not as big nor as flashy. It really came down to keeping a list of names and then sorting partners. But Hide didn't care. It was something to do with his time besides work. He hadn't realized how bored he had been getting until he offered Weiss his help.
Around the time Weiss had specified, Hide arrived at her door. He hadn't been sure if he should bring anything, but since Weiss had said she'd have a binder for him, he had opted to just bring a pen which rested safely in his pocket. He knocked.]

Hello, Hide. Thank you for coming.
[ she'll invite him in and lead him into the common area of the apartment, where he'll find the coffee table already filled with three thick binders, several pieces of paper, and an assortment of colored pens. ]
I hope you didn't have a hard time finding the apartment...?

Hi, Weiss-chan. Thanks for inviting me.
[Following her in, he takes quick glances around as he's lead into the common room. It's more out of a sense of curiosity than a want to snoop.
His attention quickly diverts to the coffee table and the assortment of things laying on top of it. Maybe there's a lot more involved with this Secret Santa thing than he had thought.]
No, not at all. Your directions were really good.

I'm glad. [ she waves a hand towards the table and the items scattered (neatly!) around it. ] Shall we? I've already divided the list of names into individual cards. I figure that may make it easier to assign partners.
[ she pauses suddenly, a finger coming up to tap her chin. ]
Unless you think it might be better if they were more randomized? It might not be too fun if the same people got each other.

Hide considers her question for a moment, trying to come up with a good way for randomizing the cards.]
Maybe we can shuffle the stack of cards randomly and then split it equally between us. Then we can both set down one card at a time. The card you set down can be the Secret Santa and the card I set down can be the person receiving the Secret Santa.
And once we've gone through our stacks we can combine them again, re-shuffle them, and do the same thing. Except I'll lay down the Secret Santas and you will lay down the recipients.
And if two people get each other we can just reshuffle the cards.

but a moment later, she is smiling, looking quite pleased. it's not every day that someone impresses her with an idea about organizing. ]
Sounds entirely doable.
[ she starts pointing towards the large stack of cards on the side. ] You can start dividing that in half, if you like. I can see about getting us some refreshments while we work.
[ not that she... knows what she's really doing here... she's never really had to play hostess to a guest in her own home before. at least not to the point where she'd have to prepare the food herself. ]
