Who: those two failures at emotion aka Sousei
deontology & Milla
souperb
When: OOC: 4/17 | IC: 12/22
Where: Milla's place
What: Cooking lessons that are inevitably going to get out of hand, and pink frilly aprons.
Rating/Warning: Here there be tsun.
[When he gets the invitation, he's admittedly a little surprised, even though Sousei should really know better--Milla needs a distraction from Elle leaving, and she knows that he can't cook for anything.
He's...admittedly not sure if this will help on either count, but knowing that, it's not like he can not try, right? Besides, Milla is an excellent cook; maybe she can legitimately help him be less terrible at it. They have someone who can help them cook now, and Souza is wonderful, but without him, he and Tenka would've just been a disaster all over again.
Besides, with Soramaru gone as well, the idea of a distraction is appealing, and so it is that motivation that ultimately leads him to knock on her door, arms crossing afterwards. He has little idea of the den of awful ideas he's walking into, really...]

so.
the door opens for sousei shortly after his knocking, and milla's of course there to greet him, hair pinned up, trying to let the surprise stay out of her expression.
it shows, instead, with the slight blink she offers him when the door first opens--the second of hesitation before she says: ]
... You actually came.
[ and then. ]
Don't burn down my kitchen.
[ as she finally moves aside to let him in, because being entirely normal with her hello is apparently outside of her abilities. which is obvious, at this point.
may a miracle be with them. ]

I am not that bad.
[he just can't make anything edible................
But it strikes him, now that he's there, that he's never seen Milla's apartment; he crosses his arms thoughtfully, even as he glances around curiously.
Can't blame a guy for being curious, right... especially when it comes to someone as strange as Milla (and it's already a little strange to see her with her hair pinned up, but not necessarily a bad strange).]

... she can think of some other minor things, of course, but there was that.
regardless, all of that is never said, because sousei's curiosity is a bit embarrassing. she'd never put much thought into decorating and she knows--a kind of habit that she kept from her time at nia khera, where things were kept pretty simple due to custom and... other reasons. she didn't have much use for knick-knacks, anyway.
so, it's pretty plain, even with the hologm. the necessities are there--table, chairs, sofa, not much else. the only sense of personality is the rather full bookshelf, and the flowers that adorn the table in front of the kitchen. it's a plainness she's aware of, which explains the heat that rises up to her cheeks. ]
You don't need to look around so obviously. There's nothing special. [ blech. why is she even so self-conscious about this? at least she can ignore that by moving to the kitchen. ] Here, this way.

As it is...
Well, her reaction is more interesting anyway. She's blushing....... despite himself, he arches an eyebrow slightly, though he does manage to suppress the majority of a smile.]
I see. It was simply curiosity and nothing more. [He's never been here, after all..... and it doesn't strike him as weird to be here now or anything, either. He was invited, after all. And Milla is his friend, right, so...
He has no sense of shoujo manga.Either way, he simply follows her into the kitchen, and despite her obvious huffiness about it before, he's still glancing around thoughtfully. Maybe just...a little more subtly.]

learn to read the mood goddamnshe's just going to pretend not to notice his glancing around more, mostly because the kitchen is actually a place she's put a fair bit of care into. it's practical, after all--in a sense, anyway, so it shows much more... substance, perhaps, than the rest of the apartment. on the counter, there's the ingredients for a tomato omelette. sousei's favorite dish was, to her knowledge, absolutely obscure, plus making anything too complicated given sousei's track record... that was basically a check list for disaster.
so, instead, she'll put her own favorite dish on the chopping block. but first!
she moves to the corner, where two aprons hang... promptly passing one of the two pink ones to sousei. was she planning this? no, actually, those were the first she saw and the first she stocked on--but perhaps this works out for the best. ]
Focus your curiosity on this instead.

However, he's so busy looking around and analyzing Milla's kitchen that he doesn't even process what he's taking until he's grasped the apron.
A pause.
He blinks down at it. Pink................ Slowly, he arches an eyebrow at it, considering, and then he shrugs inwardly and puts it on without a word of complaint. There. He even ties it neatly, and then adjusts his ponytail.
There.]
I don't believe that required that much thought.
[now you have sousei in a pink apron in your kitchen, Milla, congrats.]

sigh.
she's tying her own apron, lips pressed together before she speaks: ]
You're immune to pink aprons too. What a surprise.
[ hah. sousei's reactions were amusing... sometimes, if not a little annoying, since flustering him at some points was... pretty hard. (and on the other hand, flustering her is depressingly simple).
she tries. but, hey, she does have him in a pink apron. there's... that much.
sigh. ]

He's not amused by her struggles.
Don't be ridiculous.]
Were you trying to fluster me with it?
[He pulls at the bottom of the apron a little to get a better look at it. Hm.]
There is nothing wrong with this color.
[he might just be trolling her now.]

... yet she wouldn't and cannot compose that kind of help message, so she is instead left to give him a bit of an indignant look, a slight furrow of the brow as he completely sees through her. and of course she won't at all admit to a failure, so her eyes close and she turns away, directing herself to the counter and away from whatever expressions of amusement she catches small glimpses of.
stop trolling her. ]
Well... good. Because I wouldn't do something as silly as that. [ of course not. ] I don't need to explain it to you, but that was just the first one I saw. Nothing else.
[ "i don't need to explain it to you", she says, as she explains. ]

He just follows right along as she wanders towards the counter. Fun times. And he definitely picks up on "I don't need to explain to you but here I am explaining to you". Milla's surprisingly straightforward sometimes.
It's...honestly endearing.]
I just said there was nothing wrong with it. [there, there, tsunmilla] Though pink is not the color I would first associate with you.
