![]() A few weeks prior to December 26th, an invitation went out to all whom already reside in Cerealia. In delicate, curling script, it read: You are cordially invited by Natalia L.K. Lanvaldear to a Winter Ball to be held on the Eve of December 26th in the Gardens. Dress in your best attire and enjoy a magical evening of dance and fine cuisine. What do you mean we should fuss about worlds being destroyed? Get into the holiday spirit, you scrooge! And in regards to the new-comers: whether you have been wandering Cerealia over the course of the past few days and managed to receive one of the later waves of invitations or have simply suddenly appeared in the gardens with nothing but the (hopefully…. appropriate….) clothes on your back, welcome. The gardens have been transformed through the work of

Welcome to CEREALIA's latest intro post! This one is player-run and all the basics have been laid out for you here. Absolutely feel free to come up with your own prompts, I just attempted to set the scenery! For your convenience, I whole-heartedly welcome questions and inquiries being directed to my attention here and I'll answer them to the best of my ability! |
kyouko kirigiri | ota
[ Luckily, Kyouko heard about the ball as she was out exploring the city earlier that day, so she had enough time to buy herself a simple black dress and a pair of heels so she doesn't stand out too much. Of course, she's still wearing her gloves, even if they don't exactly fit with her dress. She gives the announcer her name and simply states her title is detective when he asks, but when she enters the room she's announced as "Kyouko Kirigiri, the Duchess of Detecting".
Which... he's close enough, she supposes. But she does send a glare his way at the dumb title. Kyouko will be looking around the ball room for a while, surveying her surroundings. Feel free to ask what she's looking around for or laugh at her title. ]
phase ii;
[ Eventually Kyouko finds her way to the food, and she can be seen eyeing (but not picking up) all of the adorable desserts. It's amazing how extravagant they are, and as much as she wants to try one of them, she refrains from doing so. After all, who knows what's in it? She just got here, so there's no way to tell if it might be dangerous. Sure, she's being overly suspicious but she'd rather be on the safe side here. ]
phase iii;
[ For a majority of the time she's in the ball room, Kyouko will be off to the side with her arms crossed, people watching and trying to see if she recognizes any familiar faces.
Anyone is free to come ask her for a dance, of course. Whether or not she'll accept your invitation is a different story, however. ]
phase iv;
[ Eventually, Kyouko makes her way out to the garden. She spends a few minutes watching as an alien fish comes to the surface and takes a big mouthful of its surroundings before going back under the surface.
While she's distracted, the tree behind her decides to wrap around her ankle. ]
...What? [ She feels it almost instantly, and tries to yank her foot out of the tree's grasp, but she's too late. It's already got her. She uses her free leg to stomp on it, using her heel to add force, but it doesn't seem to be working. It's obvious she's struggling to get the tree to let go of her, but she's not going to ask anyone for help. Hopefully a kind passerby will see the trouble she's having and help her out. ]

He recognises that figure. Different clothes and all. Naegi and Kirigiri? But this time, he's prepared! He's not going to go and blurt out her name and confuse her first thing, he's going to approach this...
...better...
Hang on.
Do I want to do this at a party...?
Actually, give him a few minutes. He's engaged in heated mental debate. He's not standing far from Kirigiri, so she might notice that Hinata all dressed up (with a tie too!!) keeps glancing her way with a hilariously conflicted expression on his face.
(Gonna make the best first impression, right?? Haha...haa.)]
no subject
Finally, she can't stand it any longer. ]
...Yes?
no subject
[Well, what did he expect? Hinata fumbles for a moment before he exhales and approaches her, apologetically ducking his head.] Sorry, I was just...
[...] I'm Hinata Hajime. You're Kirigiri... right?
no subject
But she doesn't recall ever meeting him... Granted, there's still a pretty large gap in her memory. Maybe she met him back then? But he looked like he wasn't sure if he wanted to talk to her, so there must be more to it than just that. If he knew her from before, surely he wouldn't have hesitated to say something, especially in a place like this.
She might as well be direct. ]
Have we met?

I've been to a lot of these kind of things, but I've never seen so much food. It's like some kind of glutton's paradise. [ Her voice is a little... harpyish, but she sounds pleasant enough for the moment.
Picking up an adorable little fox cupcake, Nonon just smiles. Before turning her head to ask: ] What, aren't you eating anything?
no subject
I'm wondering how so many were made with such detail. [ Which is true. Surely the quality wouldn't be as good if they're made en masse. Not to mention, in a strange place like this, who knows what they're even made of. ]
no subject
[ Nonon is already unwrapping that cupcake and biting into it. She's no detective, or really anyone who's ever had to deal with the idea of poisoned food. She's just hungry, and has a giant sweet tooth that cannot be contained. She is polite enough to finish swallowing before speaking again though. ]
I definitely didn't expect to find a thing like this though, after ending up here suddenly. A party for some person I've never even seen before.
no subject
Yes, this is all strange isn't it? I've never been in a place like this before. [ All the robotic and high-tech stuff, coupled with the weird alien things... Yeah, it's pretty different. ]

It's a casual movement for him, really. A longsword simply appears in his hand and he swipes through the branches, probably a little too close, and makes the sword vanish. No real hesitation.]
That was an idiotic situation to be in.
no subject
Kyouko watches calmly as he slices the tree, freeing her. ] Next time I'll remember to make sure that the trees around me won't grab me.
no subject
[Taking a moment to shrug and shake his head. He's an expert at that action.]

What are these similar things? Does it go beyond plant life?

i!
Peko had definitely gotten there before Kirigiri, though, so when she hears someone announced as a detective and doesn't recognize the face, she ventures over. There's a moment of uncertainty because while Peko has been working on trying to be friendlier, she just doesn't have the expression for it still...]
Excuse me. Did I hear correctly you are a detective?
[No smalltalk, no introduction. Just straight to the point. Incredible, Peko. And while she is dressed appropriately, the bag on her back certainly looks like it holds a sword. And for someone who looks to be in their late teens, those certainly are an awful lot of fatal-looking, faded pale scars that seem to be from stab wounds crossing her chest, visible above the dress.]
no subject
No worries about being straight to the point, though, as Kyouko herself is guilty of that all time too. ]
Yes, I am.
no subject
[Peko nods, as if that's the right answer. She's been trying to do some investigating on her own, but she's certainly not a detective by any stretch of the imagination. Gathering together useful people, though, is definitely something she's interested in.]
My name is Pekoyama Peko, Super High School Level Swordswoman. Have you arrived recently?
no subject
[ Super High School Level, huh. ] Are you a student at Hope's Peak Academy?
iv.
He hears her words before he sees her, but it doesn't take him long to realize the problem when he does see her.
It also doesn't take him long to fix said problem, since having a very sharp sword helps immensely. He shears straight through the branches reaching for her ankle neatly, expression flat.]
...Take a few steps back.
no subject
...Thank you. It was much stronger than I expected.
no subject
[As far as he's concerned, dropping newcomers into this mess is a shitty thing to do, but alas.]
It appears as though the majority of dangers are on the outskirts of the ball, but there may be some still elsewhere. [he can't say for sure until he checks everything out for himself.]
no subject
I've noticed the creatures in the pond seem to be dangerous as well. Are there any creatures like that outside of the water?
(no subject)
i
Are you searching for someone, perhaps?
no subject
I am looking for others from my world, yes.
no subject
[Right, he should offer to help, or something.]
Is there anyone in particular you are looking for?
