![]() A few weeks prior to December 26th, an invitation went out to all whom already reside in Cerealia. In delicate, curling script, it read: You are cordially invited by Natalia L.K. Lanvaldear to a Winter Ball to be held on the Eve of December 26th in the Gardens. Dress in your best attire and enjoy a magical evening of dance and fine cuisine. What do you mean we should fuss about worlds being destroyed? Get into the holiday spirit, you scrooge! And in regards to the new-comers: whether you have been wandering Cerealia over the course of the past few days and managed to receive one of the later waves of invitations or have simply suddenly appeared in the gardens with nothing but the (hopefully…. appropriate….) clothes on your back, welcome. The gardens have been transformed through the work of

Welcome to CEREALIA's latest intro post! This one is player-run and all the basics have been laid out for you here. Absolutely feel free to come up with your own prompts, I just attempted to set the scenery! For your convenience, I whole-heartedly welcome questions and inquiries being directed to my attention here and I'll answer them to the best of my ability! |

But Kaoru's expression remains well-composed: a look of cowed discomfort, because delicate maidens can't take such berating!!]
I hope that you'll accept my apologies in that case, miss. I'm afraid that I don't recognize you... But it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, even if it's "again".
no subject
...yes, likewise. [ Yuyuko takes a step forward and lowers her voices a few notches ] Ara, ara, what's with the Yamato Nadeshiko act?
no subject
I don't understand what you mean...
[Okay but more importantly, how much does this person know about him if she knows his personality is an act. There have been a couple people who remember him, and a few who have been able to figure out his gender, but no one who's been able to pinpoint the heart of the falsities.]
no subject
[ Her thought process will eventually boil down to 'nah I won't blurt it out in public it's way funnier to just mock him in private tbh', save urself princess murdermachine.... ]
no subject
But tragically, this is the sort of situation that he can't just run away from! This person could know things!! Though she's at least being strangely mindful now... Strangely, because if she does know at least some of what he suspects, surely she wouldn't be on good terms with him. Unless she's just as much of a shithead?? That sure would be nice, he could use some bulk in the shithead rankings with Vincent gone.]
...I had been on my way to the gardens for some air, though I'm not adverse to company.
[Kaoru's expression remains relatively demure, but there's a sharpness in his stare now, cautious and calculating.]
no subject
Oh, then I'll join you. I need to think of a creative way to introduce myself again.

[With a gentle nod, Kaoru turns and starts heading in the direction of the doors leading outside. Despite being dolled up in a bigass dress and the faint, unmistakable click-clack of heels against the ballroom floor while walking, Kaoru is graceful, seemingly right at home in Western clothing.
All the way out to the garden this nerd goes, sweeping elegantly through the outer patio, the smaller fountains, and toward an area that's deserted. Once there, he turns, setting his skirts back down and fixing Yuyuko with a stare that's somewhat difficult to read.]
I believe this is a conversation that can't wait, so I hope that you might excuse me for taking up a portion of your ball time, miss...?
they're both wearing foofy ballgowns, bless. ballgown staredown.
[ Said way too casually for a title of those implications. Of course, her expression is as jovial as ever, even amused. ]
Oh no, I understand. But I'll have to ask you a question of my own, first.
the menacing corner of floofy ballgowns.....
A pleasure to make your acquaintance properly, though I do still apologize for the repetition. [His head cants to the side a little.] Please, do.

Yes, now, what is this place?

...It's the city of Cerealia, on the planet Tellus. You were brought here from "the code", which supposedly contains all information of everything to ever exist in any world. Though CERES will say that your home has been destroyed by the aggressive alien Flamines, there has yet to be any evidence pointing one way or another. —That's the company that pulled us out of the code... CERES, that is. The CEO is Julius Vincere, though it's unlikely that you'll ever see him in person. A man named Elias is the only other corporate official that we know of. Unfortunately, any other information is scarce.
[THAT SURE WAS SUCCINCT. Either way, even though Kaoru is speaking with his feminine voice right now, Yuyuko will probably recognize his tone. It's the same clipped one that he uses when doling out information regarding missions back on the base.]
no subject
thanks for putting it in terms a fellow Ye Olde can mostly understand tho, what a bro ]
"Destroyed"? Oh, how exciting. To think, I'll have to be pulling you out of a 21st century digital trash heap in a parallel universe. [ ....alright maybe not "mostly" ]
no subject
GIVING HER A LOOK.]
I'm afraid I don't understand, Saigyouji-san...?
no subject
No, see, you're jumping to the climax of the story without me! I can't dole out that sort of information without setting up exposition first, it will make absolutely no sense!
[ like everything else you say??? ]
no subject
Then... if you would please set up the exposition? I would very much like to understand what you're speaking of.
no subject
[ almost as quickly as she started joking and talking nonsensically, she stops ]
no subject
Mm... Are they people from your world? I don't believe a Stiles Stilinski is here, but a Gundam Tanaka arrived recently.
no subject
Mine, yours, everyone's. [ ... ] Tanaka-san, huh? I'll have to go seek him out later, then.
no subject
Kaoru's lips purse briefly at that, though; it's a very minute movement, but one of the first expressions of displeasure that he's worn openly.]
Yours- [He corrects, tone still polite] -and not mine, though I assume that there is a "me" present where you come from...? [At least Kaoru is somewhat used to this notion by now, having met a handful of others who remember him.] Just as the "me" who was present in Zelien is not myself, or anywhere else that such a person may have been.
no subject
[ a slight nod ]
A lack of memories don't make a person someone entirely different.
no subject
[And THERE IT IS, the shining perfect-polite demure little smile that fools like 99% of people upon first meeting him... Internally he may or may not be thinking of a CERTAIN SOMEONE who's a known amnesiac, who he may have some beef with...! Specifically regarding her memory loss...!! MAYBE.
Normally, it would be difficult to read any of that tense unhappiness in his well-practiced expression, but considering how much time Yuyuko's spent around him, she may recognize the edge in his smile, and the stiffness of his pleasantries. He moves on quickly, either way.]
Though I hope that you might be willing to tell me more of the world that you come from, regardless.
no subject
[ too bad she doesn't have one of her giant baggy sleeves to hide her mouth behind while making snide remarks, a true loss....
that said, she's extra careful to not fall down the same rabbit hole she did the first time they spoke. Being too chatty, giving him too much information about herself--no thanks, not again. ]
Ah? But I'd imagine Gensokyo's quite boring to you. Only one lone oni on the surface nowadays, anyway.
no subject
That's a bit of a rude thing to say, isn't it?
[Seems like she knows that he isn't human too, but he only smooths his hands down his skirts and dips his head forward a little, all polite curiosity.]
Ah... Oni and royalty of the netherworld, is it? Do you come from a place where humans are uncommon?
