![]() A few weeks prior to December 26th, an invitation went out to all whom already reside in Cerealia. In delicate, curling script, it read: You are cordially invited by Natalia L.K. Lanvaldear to a Winter Ball to be held on the Eve of December 26th in the Gardens. Dress in your best attire and enjoy a magical evening of dance and fine cuisine. What do you mean we should fuss about worlds being destroyed? Get into the holiday spirit, you scrooge! And in regards to the new-comers: whether you have been wandering Cerealia over the course of the past few days and managed to receive one of the later waves of invitations or have simply suddenly appeared in the gardens with nothing but the (hopefully…. appropriate….) clothes on your back, welcome. The gardens have been transformed through the work of

Welcome to CEREALIA's latest intro post! This one is player-run and all the basics have been laid out for you here. Absolutely feel free to come up with your own prompts, I just attempted to set the scenery! For your convenience, I whole-heartedly welcome questions and inquiries being directed to my attention here and I'll answer them to the best of my ability! |

[Supporting him is easy, since even a normal Senshi is stronger than a human, and moving him further away from the plants towards an innocuous looking bench is her aim. No vines or trees nearby, so it should be safe enough.]
You're ill. [Obviously.] Have you seen a doctor yet?
no subject
[Since, you know, he's a character out of history most definitely dying in tuberculosis, even if he's doing his best to try to die in battle before that happens.
He sinks down onto the bench with a sigh, tilting his head back to watch the sky. He's still not used to seeing two moons in the sky, and the sight serves as distraction for a second or two, before he replies.]
They took me to a hospital when I first arrived here, gave me a lot of medicines to make sure I won't die or pass it on. [A disjointed shrug, and he smiles at her.] As far as I can tell, they're really working. I do feel a lot better. But they can't cure me.
no subject
[Truth be told, that's not a comforting thought, but she genuinely feels bad for the man. A...friend, she'd say. Sitting down beside him, her eyes focus on the man beside her, concern furrowing her brow.]
It's tuberculosis, as I understood it, but is it really that far along that they can't take care of it? Medicine here seems so advanced. [She bites back another statement about how it's treatable in her own time. It doesn't seem right or fair.]
no subject
[It's not nearly as hard to admit to it here, mostly because there is now chance of Hijikata, Kondou or Tetsu hearing it. And maybe a bit because here, at least, the process has been arrested.]
Honestly, it seems pretty miraculous that they can keep it from getting worse here. [He hums softly, fiddling with one of the embroideries on his kimono.] And I think maybe... even if they could take it away completely, perhaps they wouldn't. We're supposed to be as much as the people we were back home, isn't that what they tell us?
no subject
It's...possible that might be why they haven't. But the important thing, I suppose, is that it isn't getting worse. Tuberculosis is a terrible disease, but for the moment at least you're stable. If some of my friends were here, they'd...know how to treat it further, but...I am no doctor.
Have you had these fits often?
no subject
I've been having coughing fits since before Ikedaya - that was more than two years ago. But it's been getting worse with time.
[That... would be because it's been progressing rapidly lately, and back home he won't see the end of the next year to come.]
But it really is better here. [A bright little smile, as he tries to sound more cheerful about the whole thing.] I don't have a fever as often anymore, and my appetite is better too. It's nice to be able to eat properly. [And probably needed, skinny and wasted thing that he is.]
no subject
[But that's beside the point. He is getting better. That's just the truth. And if she can find a way, she'll help treat that. Of course, that would require Ami. Or her mother, potentially...]
But that's good. [He definitely looks skinny...] Did you eat a lot tonight, then?
no subject
[A dismissive shrug, which doesn't really go that well along with more or less saying "sometimes the coughing fits almost make me pass out", but he does what he wants.
This time he actually lets out a feeble little laugh, giving Rei an amused sideways glance.]
You sound just like Yamazaki-san when you say that kind of thing. [And a bit like Hijikata too, but let's have 'Topics that Souji generally tries to avoid', Alex.] I did! A lot of it was sweets, but I had some proper food too, and it was really quite good. [As opposed to before coming here, when anything more substantial would make him feel sick.]
