![]() A few weeks prior to December 26th, an invitation went out to all whom already reside in Cerealia. In delicate, curling script, it read: You are cordially invited by Natalia L.K. Lanvaldear to a Winter Ball to be held on the Eve of December 26th in the Gardens. Dress in your best attire and enjoy a magical evening of dance and fine cuisine. What do you mean we should fuss about worlds being destroyed? Get into the holiday spirit, you scrooge! And in regards to the new-comers: whether you have been wandering Cerealia over the course of the past few days and managed to receive one of the later waves of invitations or have simply suddenly appeared in the gardens with nothing but the (hopefully…. appropriate….) clothes on your back, welcome. The gardens have been transformed through the work of

Welcome to CEREALIA's latest intro post overflow! It's a bit early but just to make sure the transition for everyone over here was captcha-free. This one is player-run and all the basics have been laid out for you here. Absolutely feel free to come up with your own prompts and post new intros! For your convenience, I whole-heartedly welcome questions and inquiries being directed to my attention here and I'll answer them to the best of my ability! |

[ What a welcome, to say the least. The tone shift from 'btw everything is on fire and everyone is dying' to 'don't you love powerpoints' to 'and now a ball' is pretty jarring.
If anything though, Yuusei excels at pushing forward. There's nothing else to do in this situation, right? His falter is (hopefully) not too noticeable, but he makes the fatal mistake of giving his name to the door-guy. His mild wince is half-embarrassment half-did-you-have-to-shout as "Fudou Yuusei, the Smoldering Hotpants" even though he'd only given his name.
A quick survey of the area tells him enough though, and Yuusei abruptly turns back the way he came from. ]

[ Though, perhaps he gets waylaid in his escape. . .
He isn't trying to give the food a suspicious look. It's just -- well, there's so much of it and it's so friggin' fancy. Yuusei's pretty sure most of this would cost him everything he owns and that's counting things from back home, not just what he arrived with. (Back home. . . that certainly is more distressing than it should be to think about.)
Though, try as he might to ignore it, he does circle back to take a double-look at the adorable woodland creature desserts. Who knew they could make cakes that look like hedgehogs? ]

Yuusei. And you?
no subject
Must be a special occasion.
no subject
And you're all from the same place?
[ That gave him hope. He had only just arrived, so there were many people he hadn't met and endless possibilities. . . right? ]
no subject
[So who knows Yuusei, maybe someone you know--
lol no]no subject
[ He might be assuming a little there, but whatever. Anyone can be a friend if they try hard enough right. ]
no subject
[CONGRATULATIONS YUUSEI you guessed correct.]
no subject
Yes.
[ He just agrees, thoughts drifting again and slowly formulating a plan. He needs to see if anyone from home made it here too -- but even as he thinks that, he knows he has to believe that they did. ]

That though immediately turns Yuusei's thoughts from 'costume party'. It's a lot easier to recognize a duel disk in action, though he definitely doesn't recognize Hippo Carnival. The way the man reacts does make a small smile flicker across Yuusei's face though, before he casually steps up to further obscure Yuuya from view.
Guess it means that he'll have to go further in to the party now, but that doesn't bother him nearly as much now. ]

Yuya, meanwhile, gives Yusei a thumbs-up. Mission accomplished!]
Hehe, thanks. If my friend found out I was here like this, she would kill me. [She'll...just find out later after he gives his performance.]
no subject
Not a problem.
[ Wait ] . . . like this?
no subject
[The appeal of a stage to a Sakaki is hard to ignore.] If she sees me in this instead of something formal, she'll have my head.....SO, I'll just change after I perform~
[It's a good plan, although Yuya's pretty much oblivious to the giant hole in it since he's so excited. Obviously Yuzu will see him when he does get on stage.]
no subject
I thought it might be a costume party.
[ He'll ask about Yuzu later. ]

The only problem is the arrangement of the plates on the table that keeps that one particular piece he wants out of his reach -- he'll have to either climb on it to get it or ask somebody a little taller for help.]
Hey, sorry, can you get me that one's head?
no subject
Here. [ If only it had been that easy to grab one for himself. ]
no subject
Chewing thoughtfully, he sizes the other up for a moment before he swallows.]
Aren't you going to get something for you too?
no subject
[ And he has been. For a while. It seems silly to admit that he thinks there's a catch, especially to a kid so Yuusei just gives a half-shrug. There's no reason to dampen someone else's enjoyment either. ]

--Oh, I'm sorry! Were you interested in this? I've had plenty already, so you may take it if you wish.
no subject
No -- it's fine.
no subject
Oh, I insist. Please, take it if you'd like it!
no subject
Ah -- thanks.

Sorry...! Smoldering- [ She can't help but snicker at the title again, sorry. ] I'm sorry!
no subject
And really, if he's scowling at all it's because of Smoldering Hotpants. . . ]
It's fine.
no subject
[ really, if anybody got called smoldering hotpants, they would be annoyed, too. athena tries to cover up the awkwardness by waving a hand dismissively as she laughs, covering her mouth with her other hand. ]
I don't think I've seen you or heard of you before. Are you new?
[ she mostly infers that he's new because most newbies post on the network after arriving. she hasn't seen him introduce himself yet. ]
no subject
It's been a busy night.
[ That's really an understatement. He still feels more than a little displaced and everything just seems so unreal. ]
