![]() A few weeks prior to December 26th, an invitation went out to all whom already reside in Cerealia. In delicate, curling script, it read: You are cordially invited by Natalia L.K. Lanvaldear to a Winter Ball to be held on the Eve of December 26th in the Gardens. Dress in your best attire and enjoy a magical evening of dance and fine cuisine. What do you mean we should fuss about worlds being destroyed? Get into the holiday spirit, you scrooge! And in regards to the new-comers: whether you have been wandering Cerealia over the course of the past few days and managed to receive one of the later waves of invitations or have simply suddenly appeared in the gardens with nothing but the (hopefully…. appropriate….) clothes on your back, welcome. The gardens have been transformed through the work of

Welcome to CEREALIA's latest intro post overflow! It's a bit early but just to make sure the transition for everyone over here was captcha-free. This one is player-run and all the basics have been laid out for you here. Absolutely feel free to come up with your own prompts and post new intros! For your convenience, I whole-heartedly welcome questions and inquiries being directed to my attention here and I'll answer them to the best of my ability! |

I think a lot of people here aren't used to balls, either. They're easy to enjoy once you know what to expect, though!

[She's from the future alright, but she doesn't know about anyone being here from before 1996, and that was weird enough.]
I-I guess. It looks like a lot of fun though. [She watches the couples dancing out on the floor as she eats slowly. A sudden thought occurs to her and she turns to the man beside her.] Do you dance?

[He smiles a little at that, but he doesn't feel particularly wistful considering he's getting the same experience in Cerealia. A taste of the future! This must be what it's like to be an actual proper timetraveler instead of one that just accidentally steps into a time vortex.
At the question, he glances over toward the dance floor before nodding.]
I do! —Well, I know ballroom dances and waltzes and things like that. Do you?
no subject
[Which you'd think that all of her guy friends would be well acquainted with that by now. Maybe she needs to kick them more?]
Nope! I've never dance like that before. It's not very common back where I'm from. But it looks like fun.
no subject
But, on the subject of dances and dancing and stuffy ye olde balls:]
Would you like to try?
no subject
She looks at the plate of food in her hands and out at the people on the dance floor, quickly making up her mind.]
Alright, let's do this!
no subject
But when she glances to her plate, he gestures with one thumb over his shoulder.]
You can put that in the back area where the volunteers have been keeping our things, if you want! That way no one else will walk off with it.
[No starving bandits who are too lazy to make their own plates...]
no subject
I guess if anyone's really desperate enough to steal a plate of food when there's all this free stuff around, then they're welcome to it. More reason to try other things, right?
no subject
That's a good way of looking at it! [Hopefully no one is that desperate with such a bountiful spread but you never know... Either way, he'll hold his hand out toward her like a proper noble once she's set her plate down.]
Then - may I ask you for the next dance?
