![]() A few weeks prior to December 26th, an invitation went out to all whom already reside in Cerealia. In delicate, curling script, it read: You are cordially invited by Natalia L.K. Lanvaldear to a Winter Ball to be held on the Eve of December 26th in the Gardens. Dress in your best attire and enjoy a magical evening of dance and fine cuisine. What do you mean we should fuss about worlds being destroyed? Get into the holiday spirit, you scrooge! And in regards to the new-comers: whether you have been wandering Cerealia over the course of the past few days and managed to receive one of the later waves of invitations or have simply suddenly appeared in the gardens with nothing but the (hopefully…. appropriate….) clothes on your back, welcome. The gardens have been transformed through the work of

[Schrödinger's grin became a bit more sinister as his ears leveled out a bit. Hmm, there certainly was something different about the woman and he'll just stare for a moment. Staring. . . and then simply shrug.]
But then it doesn't really matter what it is, Fräulein. Names in themselves are not all that impressive, rather their actions or inaction. If they are capable of standing up and seizing life by the throat, or if they simply wait to meet their end under the boot of another.

That's true... to a point. [ although she doesn't say it aloud, she believes his reasoning to be somewhat naive. the weak and the strong have their advantages but it's the third person who knows how to ensure a mutually assured destruction between the two that wins, in the end. ]
I don't believe this world can be divided so easily. There is always a a game in play. We are, at all times, knowing or unknowingly; pawns in a grand scheme. To be conceited enough to believe ourselves invulnerable to such a system is when our lives no longer hold any considerable value.
[ she takes a sip of her drink, though and continues. ] But no system is invulnerable either. To be "everywhere and nowhere", to utilize both blessing and flaw... that I believe makes for an entertaining individual, don't you agree?
[ tl;dr she's complimenting the contradictory nature of being the cat in the box. ]

His ears twitch a little as she continues going on though. It was true though, and sounded like something the major would have said. But then Schrodinger was a pawn, well he was far more useful than a simple pawn, but he was a piece to be moved and used as seen fit. If she were to blink or take her eyes off him for a second he would simply vanish only to reappear just behind her.]
It has certainly been entertaining going wherever it is that I want, though I've had some rather nasty missions that have gotten my head blown off.
Pawns, bishops, queen, king, we're all part of a game that is going to be played whether we want to play or not. Such is our dilemma, to play the game and experience the thrill or winning or simply refuse and not play at all.

[ and that's all she has left to say on the matter. the greatest villains don't announce that they want to rule over the world, they simply do it. henceforth, that will be how cinder intends to play the game no matter the setting.
but games are not intended to be played alone so while she does intended to impart the rather "innocuous" fact of her name, schrödinger keeps deterring her interests elsewhere. he did just casually say he once was decapitated, didn't he? ]
But lives are also meant to end. You sound almost impossible to kill, am I right in assuming that you can't be?
[ not in the usual sense, she means. ]

That's correct. Even if killed, I will not be dead so long as I choose not to be.
