Should Oldbag Acquaintence Be Forgot
Who: The Ace Attorney cast, any of their CR, and maybe gate-crashers?! Curious neighbors and other passersby won't be turned away.
When: January 1st
Where: The Wright apartment.
What: It's never too late for a new years party, except when it is.
Rating/Warning: Nothing out there just yet
[A new years party had been in the works for a while now. But the incidents with the Santa attacks plus time suddenly skipping ahead to January 1st had caught everyone off-guard. But Phoenix was convinced to go ahead with the party anyway. It's one way to help keep spirits high after what had happened the night before.
Invitations were dispersed amongst the group of people from their world (except for a certain elderly murderer, sorry Von Karma) and the friends they've made in Cerealia (and everyone is open to invite other people as well). Everything's happening at Phoenix and Trucy's apartment, which has some simple New Years banners set up alongside some surviving Christmas decorations. The Christmas tree is still up too, just in case... but all of the decorations and ornaments featuring Santa and his reindeer have already been destroyed.
Entertainment includes a karaoke machine which plays music normally when people aren't using it, and an assortment of food is set up, with people being free to have brought their own dishes and snacks. There is some alcohol there too, including the customary champagne, but likely the local adults will be trying to keep things down to small champagne samples; Phoenix prefers to respect his original world's drinking age, after all.
And, as they near midnight, the intention is to try to countdown to January 2nd as if it's the new year countdown!]

[here comes the box girl, and she's a very excited box girl today!]
[she's wearing her box, but... carrying another box (folded up)?]
I have something for you!

Myriam, what a pleasant surprise! [ Somehow, she feels that this conversation will end badly for her. ] What are you holding?
no subject
[and... unfolds the box: it's a cardboard box, like Myriam's, complete with armholes and slat for the eye, but the cardboard is white, and the 'front' is clearly painted in a way to match Athena's yellow jacket plus Widget]
Ta-da~

[ It's really difficult to hide her surprise and disapproval. Her face just says it all. ]
I'm so glad. . .

[oblivious: not aware of what is happening around oneself; Myriam Scuttlebutt]
Go ahead, put it on! See how it feels! Make sure the holes are in the right spots.
no subject
Fortunately, she actually has a good excuse to use on why she has to say no. ]
Actually, stretching my limbs a bit already hurts me, so I think wearing a box might not be a good idea... [ Totally putting her foot down!!!! But she doesn't want to hurt Myriam's feelings too much. ] right now.
I fell down in the snow yesterday.
[ Or was it a couple days back? Timey-wimey shenanigans sure make things difficult. ]

[she tried to sound normal, but internally she had a crestfallen look]
O-oh... I... see...
T-that's... fine...
Don't... y'know... push yourself...
no subject
....you can practically hear her disappointment. Athena, really...? On a holiday?
[Everyone should know he's just putting on a front. Especially Athena.]

I even have a huge bump on my head! If you want evidence, feel it for proof! I'll let you!

...
[3/3]
[she darted for the exit!!]

When I was your age, I learned to stop running from my problems. Deflection is a better route.
[Shaking his head either way.]
Just put it on.
no subject
She'll just be poking her earring, looking away from the conversation now. ]

[she struggled to push herself free]

...What.
no subject
[That shouldn't be out of her skillset. Hopefully. But he lets up.]
no subject
[--suddenly free, she wasted no time bolting for the door outside]
no subject
[that is, turning on him and quickly turning her disappointment to the opposite extreme of anger]
Who asked you?! I don't remember asking you to play diplomat, so butt out!
