White Devil Rising [Open]
Who: Nanoha
zenryokuzenkai & You!
When: 7th January / 20th May
Where: Ceres Game Center
What: Nanoha's blowing off some steam
Rating/Warning: Mild fantasy violence
Nanoha had two major hobbies that she indulged in when away from friends and family. The first was flying, inadvisable within city limits, (and there was no known way out of the city,) and really not the same without an open sky. The second was mock battles: most of the excitement of real battles without disturbing the peace! When she was a military instructor on Mid-childa, putting assorted rookies through the wringer was quite fortunately part of her job, but here it was just a game. Quite the game, but still just a game. A way to relieve stress, and there was no stress like having all your family and friends presumed dead, and being partly responsible for putting everything ever back together.
“Divine...” Raising Heart announced, a pink sphere of energy forming at the tip of the staff, pointed at the wave of creepy crawlies before it, the theme of this stage looking to be a bugpocalypse of some kind. Two cartridges were loaded into the device, shells falling a long way to the ground as the flying mage quickly charged her attack.
“BUSTER!” Nanoha and Raising Heart finished in unison, blasting a huge hole through enemy lines, a strong opener that would set the tone for the rest of the level. She was on something of a hot streak, winning several games in a row convincingly, as she dove into each match with near abandon, blasting her way through most enemies like a hot knife through butter.
The match eventually comes to a close, and the streak is defended as Nanoha shakes off the headgear, sweat falling freely from her brow. Could she have won with a little less excess? Probably, but winning was hardly the point. She was really here to cause damage in a safe environment, indulging in one of the few joys she had left.
“Hey, are you just here to watch, or will you be joining in the next match?”

"If you need to make things explode later, I can do that for you, but let's keep moving!"

"I think we can take it easy for now." He takes a quick look around, checking the corners for any enemies before he plops down on the ground. He's not really tired, but saving energy is never a bad thing.
"How far are we from the big alien? Can you see?"
no subject
"So? What do you want to do? Smoke them out? Rush in? Sneak through the saucer?"

But, video game. Truth be told he's not entirely certain how to attack a space ship, who does really, so he is out of his territory.
"I have no clue. I'm armed with a medieval weapon fighting against a digital alien race. And I'm a musician by profession, I'm a little over my pay grade."
He's also a vigilante magic knight when he needs to be.
"What say you lead the charge and I'll try to keep up."

"I'm going to open a path to the boss! That's going to attract the attention of all the enemies we sneaked past, so we'll have to move quickly! Hit them with your full power, at full throttle!" This was, to Nanoha, the best tactic. Anything else would open up the opportunity for their enemies to call reinforcements back before they could get close. This made sure the enemy knew where they were, and so a much stricter time limit, but at least they would start close!
"Start running now, I'll catch up! Blaster 1!" She announced, and anyone sensitive to such things would be able to feel the surge of magical energy that suddenly coursed through Nanoha. A three-stage module that let magi go over their usual limits temporarily in exchange for an increased strain on their bodies, that was the Blaster System. A limit break that was most fitting for a boss fight!
"Divine..." Nanoha dug her heels deep into the concrete, a magic circle forming around her feet as she charged up. The tip of Raising Heart was pointed straight at the alien spaceship, the infamous sphere of pink energy already growing as cartridges were fired off, each ka-thunk merely adding to its power.
"BUSTER!" She finished, letting rip the huge beam, which ripped through the cool, (albeit digital,) night air and crashed straight through the outer wall of the spacecraft. Not content to stop there, the beam travelled on, blasting through a series of shields and walls of various thickness until the core of the saucer was exposed to the outside world, revealing the boss upon his throne.
It was not a very impressive physical specimen, tall but far too thin, grey with a head slightly too large to be normal, dressed in a robe that hung loosely off it. If there was anything that made it dangerous, it would surely have to be some form of psychokinetic or telepathic power. That, and the half-dozen elite fighters surrounding it armed with scary looking plasma rifles.
I kind of wanted to shoot all the way through the spaceship, but looks like it was a bit too tough. Let's go! The mage sent telepathically to her ally as she kicked into the air. All their attention is on me now, so I doubt I'll be able to take the time to properly charge another big blast, so I'll support you!
And as if on cue, a series of much smaller magic bullets flew out from behind her, raining down upon the enemy as a form of suppressing fire.
