[So this is what it is like to have a job? Well, it isn't so bad. William could have probably chosen a job that provided more opportunities for immediate social advancement, but this place has it's perks too. When you're forced to help others with their research, it sharpens your skills as well. Already he's learned all sorts of small, but useful tidbits, such as how taxes work here and what trashy novels the middle aged women of the populace love. Well okay, he didn't actually want to know about the latter, but at least he's getting a feel for this culture.
This particular afternoon William's hard at work, doing some much needed shelving he's behind on. The questions from patrons have been non-stop and while he appreciates that people find him dependable, William really needs to finish up. Which isn't going to happen because someone is approaching him right now. Oh bother.]
Shopping district, Various Cafes, 1/15-1/18
[One of the benefits of having your butler arrive with you is that you can always be assured that he will brew your coffee just the way you like it. And Kevin hasn't failed William in that regard. Still, Kevin has his own job to attend to, so he cannot be around to fulfill William's need for caffeine 24/7. No matter how much he would like to try.
So it was that William had spent the last few days going to different coffee shops to try what they had, so that he could find the brew best suited to his needs. Granted, that didn't mean it was easy to choose. Half the places he went either made it too weak, or it tasted burned. Or at best passable. Which was better than awful, but why bother?
But, in any case one might see a young man visiting the different cafes, taking himself way too seriously.]
[Wildcard, 1/15-1/18]
[He's still exploring the city at this point, trying to find out what's where, as well as observe the people of this place. If he's going to live here, it won't due to remain ignorant of his surroundings. He's in a perfect state to be harassed or even just befriended. Though with William's luck, it will be the former.]
[OOC Note: I am perfectly fine with prose if that is what you prefer!]

[Terrifyingly so. To the point where they would settle for boys in dresses. Not that Sitri didn't look good in one, but his classmates took it too far.]
So are you ready to check out then?
no subject
[He steps away from the display and into the aisle, waiting for William to lead him to the desk. He's just assuming William will check him out, here; he could easily just go and find whoever's working it himself, but whatever, he's got an employee of his very own right here! Besides, he's still curious:]
So d'you go to an all-guys' school or what? Maaaan, that sucks! I'd sneak in "vulgar stuff" too! Why would you ever take that away from a dude in need?
no subject
Yes, it is an all boy's school. The whole notion of Co-ed is something that doesn't exist in my time. At least not as you know it.
And as for taking it away, it's because it's my job. And I enjoy it. Though I will look the other way if it is something not terribly depraved and it's not being flashed under my nose.
[He liked being able exercise whatever meager power he had been given as Prefect. Though William also generally ignored anyone who wasn't making too much trouble.]

[He says that very lightly. It's not a real accusation, although Leon does have to wonder about a guy who'd take pleasure in depriving his fellow man of porn. Where's the bro code back in 18-whatever?
He's half saying it just for the reaction, though.]
Least you don't take everything. That'd be too cold!
no subject
[The was Kevin's department. William merely liked control over most things in life. And it totally wasn't a fetish.]
...well, sometimes one does have to be generous. Otherwise they become desperate and start looking to on another for comfort.
[And that is all he is going to say on that.]
no subject
[Hoo boy. Leon has a moment--you know, Hope's Peak was, uh, well, let's not think about that, please, but at least it had girls in it.
There are two kinds of cruel and unusual punishment in the world.
He plunks the CDs on the counter with a grimace.]
Damn. What's even the point if people just, uh, get desperate?
no subject
I sometimes wonder that myself. But girls are supposed to remain chaste so that they can marry, so it would create all sorts of problems. And it would provide a distraction.
[The rules probably should have been more lax on certain things in regard to relations between the sexes. But that was an ethical question to ponder for another time.]
no subject
Come on, who'd marry a girl they hadn't been with yet? Guess it's a good thing I ain't from your time, 'cuz I've definitely ruined a few girls for marriage, if you know what I mean. Ha ha!
[He's like eighty percent sure William will know what he means. The guy doesn't seem naive or anything, but . . . ]
no subject
[Or so he assumes as he keeps scanning the albums.]
...you are very lucky. Unless you were some lower class man, you would be in a lot of trouble.
no subject
[That's a lie. He'll definitely say more about it. But geez, all the same when the lights are off! That's a depressing-ass society this guy comes from. How did people even survive the past?
On the other hand, Leon watches him scan the CDs, and it's sort of entertaining exactly how much modern technology is in this guy's hands right now. He seems to know what he's doing . . . some people are just quick to pick things up.]
no subject
[He's pretty dispassionate about it, because well, love among nobility in the Victorian Era and all.
He finishes with the last of them and hands the stack back.]
They shall be due back in about two weeks, Mr. Kuwata.
no subject
I guess that's kinda hard to argue with, but Prime Minister? Talk about pressure! You're settin' yourself up for a life without any fun in it, man . . . but I guess if that's what you're into. Politics, libraries, and disappointed girls? Anyway, yeah, I got it. I'll be back in two weeks or whatever!
no subject
[Really all the shopping, all the snacking and no worrying about debt collectors. That is a blast.]
If they are late, there will be a fine. More so if they are damaged in anyway.
no subject
[If he doesn't forget, which, y'know, 50/50 chance. He steps back from the counter with a wave.]
See ya then~. Unless you like, win the lottery before that. Ha ha!
