[considering nam soon himself is also somewhat content to wait things out, he's not exactly jumping up to help. so maybe they can call it even that way, since he's not going to take any personal offense to it. actually, he's just kind of closing his eyes for a bit.

but he hears sousei's vague hum, so he looks up.]

Find something? [nam soon asks idly, but he's clearly not very fussed about it. this is annoying, but he's also not really expecting that sousei is going to make much progress like that either. whoops.]

We are about halfway down from the floor above.

[Which means that they're not that far, and could presumably make it up there, but... getting the doors open will be tricky. And still, asking for assistance doesn't seem to cross his mind, and so instead, he heaves himself up completely so he's standing on top of the elevator, and makes his way to the closed doors.

On his tiptoes he can grab them, but getting leverage is tricky.

[he muses, head tilting as he watches on from where he is. it could definitely be worse, although it still kind of sounds like a death trap to him. if something goes wrong, they're going to be toast, that's for sure.

...still, he doesn't really want to be useless, either. sousei's already committed this far, so he figures he shouldn't just sit around and nap. even if that would be a hell of a lot less effort.]

Don't try to do it all yourself. [he's going to regret this, he knows it already.]

[Totally going to regret this. But for now Sousei pauses, before glancing back down at his death trap companion. Hmmm...]

Are you interested in helping?

[If so, Sousei thinks it'll be significantly easier together, but if not, he'll figure it out himself. Someone sure takes that Lone Wolf character archetype a little too seriously here.]

[hey, he can respect another person's pride enough to say "if you fuck this up, i'm on my own and that's more of a hassle," at least. it's not like he's actually interested when he'd have just waited for the power—like most people probably would.]

I don't want to be late for work. [he adds, like that's actually some kind of important and valid excuse. he does, at least, have a sense of responsibility. he'd rather not get fired, even if he hates his job, because it pays the bills better than even his part time job back in seoul. why risk it? if helping sousei puts an end to this quicker and gets them on their way, then it's fine. probably.]

[Fair enough. He certainly won't knock a good work ethic, even if he thinks it's wasted in this place. So Sousei nods, and reaches down to offer him a him a hand up.]

You'll have to join me on the top of the elevator. I'll boost you up so you can open the doors more easily.

[With two of them, it really shouldn't be hard, and then they can just get on the floor and pretend this never happened.

[so wouldn't it make more sense to use that to their advantage by him giving sousei the boost? he's not going to argue this too heavily as he makes the grab for sousei's hand to get up there.

he may look like a beanpole, but he's pretty strong, and he thinks it'll probably be faster.]
