Maybe that's all it's trying to do? [he says, even though his tone is doubtful.

Naoki's too used to most things that aren't human trying to kill him or otherwise to buy into his own words. Still, there's no denying that absolutely nothing's happening besides these little creepy spooks.]

[rebelia]

[And nothing continues to happen as they make haste, covering the rest of the short distance in no time. The suspense of anticipating their next appearance has IV on edge, and he's visibly annoyed. The irritation is also there in his tone.]

Are they still around?

[masakados]

Yep. I don't think they're going away.

...But I think they're further back, so maybe they've found someone else they're going to bother a while. [Naoki frowns and looks back over his shoulder as though seeking out the sense with his eyes.]

[rebelia]

[IV snorts. He trusts Naoki's senses enough to take his word for it. The news strikes him as good, if still irritating for how uneventful and pointless the whole thing was.]

Fickle, aren't they. Well, we're just about here, anyway.

[He gestures to the particular apartment building in front of them as they draw closer.]

This is my building. Is yours elsewhere?

[masakados]

[Spirits tend to be--

Naoki glances up at the apartment building, jabbing with his thumb to indicate he's a little further down the street.]

Down thataway. You probably don't need me to walk you to your door, right? [With humour.]

[rebelia]

[Oh, are they being funny now? IV allows himself an amused smirk.]

I can walk myself, unless you're saying there are spirits who'll knock me off my feet. Even if there are, I can handle them.

[He begins to head for the apartment building entrance, waving as he turns away. Although it'd be appropriate to insert some kind of friendly warning about the short distance to the next apartment building, IV doesn't doubt Naoki's ability to walk himself, either.]

I'm going.

[masakados]

[They can call themselves the next amazing new comedy duo-- nah, perhaps not. Naoki watches him go for a moment, humming and waving one of his hands lightly in farewell.]
