[ALLOW HIM TO EXPLAIN--] That's my... Aura. It's like a manifestation of my soul? [If he sounds a little bemused about his own ability he'll explain further.]

My friend told me about it, and then she 'unlocked' it for me. I've been training ever since then so I can use it to defend myself.

[unwaverings]

[ Oh, what, that's really cool! At least, Sorey really thinks so. ]

Whoa, that's amazing! Your friend can do something like that?! [ Aaah, he sounds really excited about this (because he is)!! ] Well, it looks like your training paid off! You saved both of us with that!

[ If he hadn't defended himself, they would've both been screwed in the end, of course. ]

[And slapped onto a table and they'd now be sporting three elbows--]

I never had any powers or anything before and I didn't even know about auras... [Hinata ends up smiling at his excitement because dang it excitement's kinda contagious.] But I am really grateful to have it, at times like these.

[ Don't even think about the three elbows they're safe now —

I didn't know about them, either ... Your friend must be really amazing. [ To not only know about that stuff but unlock it — she's probably powerful, too. ]

It's a good thing you have it, in a place like this. This isn't a good place to be without something to defend yourself ...

[ At least that's how it seems to him so far. He really could use his sword ... ]

I do have some weapons, at least, but.

[Hinata pauses a moment and rubs his palm against one of his arms.]

Against supernatural powers, there's only so much those can do, you know?

[But that being said.] Do you have anything you can use to defend yourself on you?

[ Ah, that's right, he did have a gun. But yeah — Sorey knows all about things only being effective against enemies under certain circumstances. Normal humans can't fight the Hellion in his world, after all. ]

Yeah, I can understand that. It's good to have other means of defending yourself.

[ But he looks a little embarrassed at that. ]

No, not on me. I usually have my sword with me, but it's not here for some reason ...

[ And neither are his Seraphim, so he can't fuse with them either. He's fairly defenseless right now ... ]

[Sword... If there was one belonging to someone just laying around, I definitely should've seen it by now.

He sighs and rubs his head, thinking CERES really means to kill the new arrivals this time. And then he crouches down, rummaging at his ankle.]

I know it's... not much compared to a sword, but take this. [He holds out a knife-- well, it's a shiv. He always keeps a few extra weapons on him, just in case.]

[ Oh — wow, that's nice of him, actually. It's not what he's used to, but he's got no problems with having it temporarily anyway. Except — ]

You're sure that's okay? You don't need it?

[ Juuust making sure. He might have that barrier and his gun, but guns only have so many bullets! He doesn't want to take something he needs from him. ]

[He has more anyway paranoid survival horror life.]

It's better for you to have it now anyway, at least until you get your sword back.

[ Then he'll accept the knife from him. ]

Then ... thanks. It'll be nice if I don't have to resort to using it, though. [ He laughs a little, turning it over carefully in his hands to look at it. He never likes to resort to hurting others, and he'd certainly prefer his stay here to be a little less dangerous ... ]

I wonder if there's anyone else like him around here ...

[ Anyone else like that doctor and it might be trouble. ]

There's alien creatures and nurses around with needles, though, so be careful? [THAT SAID he's just been consistently shoved toward aliens and told to take care of them before spooking the heck out of there.]

[ That gets a bit of a nervous laugh out of him. ]

Yeah, I've seen them. [ Those aliens have startled him a bit so far. ] I'll do my best to stay clear of them. None of them have tried to hurt me yet, but maybe I'm just getting lucky.

[THEY'RE PRETTY STARTLING even more when you're not expecting them...]

It could be. Or this place could really be a hospital for them and they're just expecting us to help them for some reason...

... I guess if that means they won't hurt us, it's fine, but ... it's still kinda weird.

[ He's never seen a place like this. ]
