He grabs an umbrella from the umbrella stand in the hallway just in case - not the best weapon, but it's not like they have anything else better readily available. What is he supposed to do, go at it with a monster with a kitchen knife?
Practically holding his breath, he opens the door...
.. and there's nothing there.
Even peeking his head out onto the hallway of the apartment complex, there's nothing there at all. Not even anything out of the ordinary - just a quiet hallway.
So he closes the door again, putting away the umbrella and sighing as he drags his feet back to the bedroom, climbing back into the bed next to the other. ]
Nothing.
[ You know, in case it wasn't obvious from the fact he's still very much here and alive... ]

it's okay.
it has to be okay, because just as the sound of the shuffling footsteps had grown more muffled the further heung soo was from the bed, it was now being reversed without issue. the sound grows closer, and by the time heung soo makes his way back into the room, nam soon will have already flopped back to lay down, hands behind his head and eye closed as he breathes in the relief. he relaxes a bit more when he feels heung soo's weight on the bed.]
Should've just stayed here. [good job getting up, you bastard. even if it likely would have nagged at them both for the rest of the night if nobody checked.]

Why do you have to be this way, you bastard.. ]
Next time you can go, you bastard.
[ Not that he really means that, because there's no way he's going to let Nam Soon throw himself headfirst into danger before himself. Never that, if he can help it. ]
no subject
oops.]
You can go next time too, since you're so determined to. [leave it to nam soon to be an obstinate bastard about this. like hell he's getting up to check anything out. how about they just chalk it up to a weird dream and spare themselves the paranoia. for now, at least.]
no subject
Heung Soo, however, just casts a glance at Nam Soon's back and lets out an audible sigh. ]
Why are you being this way? [ Not that he doesn't know. It's just what they do, it's the usual bastards routine.. doesn't mean he can't complain about it all the same now he knows it's safe (for now, anyway). It's a good distraction from the dream. ]

[except for the part where it really doesn't do that in any way. it's probably quite the opposite—a completely predictable response that means nothing. he's not really trying to keep heung soo on his toes, after all. how could he, when this is the sort of way he'd react time and time again to these circumstances?
but the sigh and the slight ire he gets out of heung soo gives him enough of a rise to keep that sort of ruse going every time. now certainly isn't the exception. isn't this what they need right now? something normal.
geez, this bastard's always so noisy about things, even when he likes it. it's probably a good thing nam soon's turned away, because he's got a satisfied smirk on his face that would surely exacerbate the reaction.]
no subject
Who needs some monster when you're right here.
[ Worse than any monster, right.
Except that implication is totally ridiculous since Heung Soo cares for the other to death, but.. sshh... ]
no subject
[rude as hell, heung soo. though he probably wouldn't react that way if not for his head hitting the bed abruptly; it's probably good it's a bed and not the floor like it would've been back in seoul.]
Petty bastard... [he doesn't bother fighting to get the pillow back, though. he nudges heung soo a bit with his elbow again, mostly to reiterate how petty and childish that reaction was (as if he wouldn't do the same, right?).] Go back to sleep already.
no subject
But on the other hand.. there's no monster or whatever lurking around, waiting to attack them. And the nightmare feels a little further away now he's been out of the bed for a bit and now he's back in the bed, there's this bastard right here.
And for all the bickering they do? It's still more comforting than anything else could be. Enough to give him a feeling that he might just be able to sleep again.
So he turns a little (shifting closer to Nam Soon again, obviously a total coincidence) and closes his eyes. ]
Don't lie awake worrying by yourself though, you bastard.
no subject
[obviously, he's not. but he says those words with a mumble, taking a bit of solace in the way heung soo shifts and makes things a little more comfortable again. to say he'll really be able to fall asleep quickly would probably be a lie, but this is still nam soon. for him, the best way to cope has always been to just shut everything off and sleep through it.
so he'll let that perception be the case now; he'll fall back asleep eventually, but he's content to regain his calm slowly this way. besides, it's better if that bastard wasn't awake fretting about these sorts of things anyway, right?]
