Especially for me, coming from a world where these things don't exist.

Yeah. [This time, Korra tilts her head slightly as she looks at him.]

Does it bother you? Seeing all these new abilities?

[bropane]

Bother me? No, no, [ with a half-smile, he waves a hand to add to his negation. ]

It's just - well, not something I'd believe right away. But it just seems that anything's possible in this place. Even things that can't be explained through science.

[ a beat. ]

Right now, I believe it. Seeing is believing and all that. Don't be fooled, though. I'm still a very logical person.

[braavado]

[Her expression clears as he explains.]

I guess that's fair enough. I mean... I wouldn't have believed technology like [She waves a hand, unconsciously mimicking him.] all this existed until I saw it, too.

[bropane]

Hopefully, you won't have a difficult time trying to live here.

[ apart from the usual glitches and stuff, that is. ]

If you don't mind. [There's something lighter about her smile this time.]

Come to think of it, [ he strokes his chin. ] I have no idea how to log out of this game right now. Usually, you have to fight a boss, but this game is so different from the ones I usually play.

[braavado]

[She glances around the hospital room dubiously.]

Maybe there's something we have to fight around the hospital? It might be hiding somewhere.

[bropane]

... ugh, I don't even want to think about it.

I don't have my gear with me.

[ no, that's actually a godsend. nobody should see his nerdy gear. ]

[But what if Korra wants to see his nerdy gear. She's already perking up with curiosity as it is.]

What kind of gear do you have?

[bropane]

Gloves that shoot out electromagnetic waves, and rocket-powered boots.

[ he looks so proud just talking about it. what a nerd. ]

[braavado]

[There's a long pause before Korra smiles just a touch wryly.]

Those gloves must be useful. A friend of mine back home has something like that.

[bropane]

They are. I should be able to fend for myself if monsters attack the colony again, too.

[ you know, just in case. hopefully, it doesn't happen again! ]

[braavado]

[The word "again" sticks out like a sore thumb. From what she's hearing about this place, she wouldn't be too surprised if more monsters showed up again.]

I kind of want to see you use those things, but that almost feels like jinxing it.

[Another tentative smile.] At least living here won't be too bad, if the people here are as friendly as you are.

Everybody just wants to help each other out.

I've never met anybody who wants people here to get in trouble.
