it raises a lot of questions that he really just can't ask at all. and it's not like the one person he could ask is even around for the much. the struggle is real. but at least roxas knows how to put his personal feelings aside to get a task done. so after a moment, he steels himself. it's not like shinpachi could know what a delicate subject he breached with those words, after all.

most people don't know about nobodies, because they "don't exist," after all. once he's steeled, he looks around them.]

So.. how do we get out of here, exactly?

This is virtual reality. [ He doesn't know what that is - or rather, didn't before he got to this place - but some of the modern people seem surprisingly accustomed to it, so he figures it's the easiest way to start. It might make this kid go "oh" more easily than it would with Shinpachi himself, honestly. ]

Usually you just have to complete some task and then you're sent right out of it back to the normal world. [ "Normal".. relatively speaking.. ] Or it could be just as easy as finding the exit here.

[he remains somewhat blank—technology isn't really his forte, even if he does have some vague idea of things. "virtual reality" doesn't explain all that much to him, but he can kind of feel it out.]

So find an exit, or do a task. ...What kind of task would it be?

[ See, that's the difficult part about all of this. Usually he'd be able to point it out just fine, but this ViViD area isn't exactly like most others he's seen. ]

Usually it's about beating some boss monster, but.. [ He spreads his arms for a moment, like he's gesturing at the space around them in a "see?" kind of way. ] Not like there's anything around here like that, right?

[ And he's not going to just start skewering random people just to see if that's what they need to do or not, even if they're fake people. Shinpachi's just too fundamentally good for that. ]

[in all fairness, roxas isn't about to do that either... well, not anymore. he's calmed a bit since talking to shinpachi, and that understanding means he isn't going to bother with something like that.

still, it doesn't really solve what needs to be done to put an end to this situation. roxas folds his arms over his chest, tilting his head a bit to consider the possibilities.]

So if there's no monster... that means there has to be something else we have to find. Is that it?

Yeah. [ Probably, anyway, but what else do they have to go off for now? It's a vague as hell objective, but there's got to be something in this hospital that stands out.

.. or something like that. Shinpachi's not too used to modern hospitals, okay, he wouldn't know something that's supposed to stand out even if he'd see it.. ]

[that makes two of them, considering he barely even understands the purpose of a hospital. it's not like a nobody can just check into things like that, not when they don't really "exist" by some technical standard.
