And how Nanoha seemed to be able to create countless beams of pure pink destruction? He needs a destructostaff as well.

"Nice. Let's go claim our reward."

Too bad, Nanoha moved away from Earth, she doesn't need to study Japanese history any more. Instead, she gets to teach people how to blast people with her destructostaff.

She picks up the piece of paper and tosses a copy of the quest reward at Masamune.

"So, what does your scrap say? Mine is... definitely interesting. Says the old CEO's not dead."

"Huh!? Let me have a look!"

Masamune hands over his own scrap, after having a good look at his. The paper is torn, and maybe if he could match the tear marks...

Julius Vincere and Lucius Octavii are not dead. They were not murdered says her scrap of paper, a tear cutting it off mid-sentence. It's signed "Bellona Recreare" in the corner.

"I wonder what this means? Well, I know what it means but why is this here, and is it true?"

He did not know much of the man at the top, even when he witnessed his gruesome murder. Supposedly, it appeared like a hostile takeover, though this was more than fascinating.

"Oi...Do you know anything about this Vincere and Octavii? I think we might just found something that's supposed to be kept secret."

What went on amongst the higher-ups here, and why did ViViD hide a clue like this here?

"No, I don't. I'm fairly sure we arrived on Cerealia at about the same time, actually." So she wouldn't have had a chance to interact much with the old CEO. That's just how things were.

"We need the rest of this letter." Nanoha decides, flipping open the ViViD console and trying to figure out if they can take this quest again. The rewards seemed to be randomised, so...

"And we can't just redo this quest. We'll need to get everyone else who took the Truth quest together."

Masamune folds his arms in silent contemplation.

"We could try, but if we do that, you know we'll be prying deep into the inner secrets of this place. Are you really prepared to do so?"

How much would they gain, how much could they lose? Would they be marked and taken out by similar ways?

"I've wanted to do that for a very long time, Masamune-dono. Anything's better than sitting on my butt waiting for the world to be saved. I fully intend to contribute to that with my own two hands."

Nanoha's well aware of the risks. She's dealt with conspiracy before, and experienced plenty of pain and near death experiences. She's not nearly afraid enough of those to not move forward.

Masamune grins. He never could, nor enjoyed being a bystander to the world moving around him. Looks like it might be back into the fires of war.

"Once we make it back, I'm going to do a little personal investigating. I have three swords and a pair of guns to put to good use."

"It's not difficult to go back, Masamune-dono. We can just log out."

How does a man use three swords and two guns at the same time? That is a question for another time, as she's thrown up the menu and is about ready to leave.
