"Oh, it's nice-hic to meet you hic-then, Willi-hic-am." He manages a polite little bow. I'm Chihi-hic-ro Fujisaki."

"Well, I've tried drink-hic-ing water and holding hic-my breath."

"Well then, Chihiro," he said, hoping he had pronounced her name right, "there's something I am going to try and I hope you will forgive me for it..."

They said that shock was a good way to get rid of hiccups and well, there was only one method of surprise he had at his disposal. Quietly chanting under his breath, William summoned up an icy gust of wind so that it would hit her full in the back. It was a strong as what one would feel on a blustery cold day, without being powerful enough to knock a person over.

It sounds just about right, but what he says next sounds rather foreboding!

"... what hic-are you- AHH!!" Chihiro stumbles forward, mostly from the shock of it. "W-what was that..??" He looks around him, trying to see where that gust came from. "Did you do- Eh?" He isn't hiccuping anymore? Did it really work? Chihiro falls silent to test it.

"I sincerely apologize and will make up any offense to you if possible," he grimaced and watched her carefully. So far so good...

"Do you feel better now?"

"I..." He waits a moment longer then adds hopefully with a bright smile. "I think that did it! Thank you so much, William!" Then he can't help asking out of curiosity. "How did you do that though...? Where did that wind come from?"

She's a pretty cute girl when she's not crying and hiccuping. He cannot help but be a little smug. "There is no need to thank me. And as for how," William said as he placed a hand on his hip, "it was magic! Just a simple spell!" Sure he isn't the best magician, but he feels like bragging now.

"But I wouldn't have been able to stop without your help!" Chihiro's eyes widen in surprise and amazement. "Magic? You are a wizard, William? What other spells can you do?"

Well he wouldn't fight her on the compliment. "Wizard? Huh, I suppose I am after a fashion. A beginner though." Just the tiniest bit of humility. "I can also create fire and make myself float. I am working on learning illusions and summoning as well." Though the latter had proven fruitless so far, due to the way to hell being closed.

"That's still amazing! You're just a beginner but can already do all that! Is it possible for me to learn how to use magic too?" He looks up at him very hopefully!!

[notsolomon]

"Hmm," he tapped his chin, "well you do need the aptitude for it, but it shouldn't be impossible. Isaac was able to learn and he is a poor student." Who is also better at magic than William, but details, details. "Would you like to learn?"
