I'm Ruby! [She's cheerful enough at least; a lot of her awkwardness about meeting new people is lurking just beneath the surface being overridden by her desire to be helpful, at least.] Rei is...definitely not the name I would've guess for you something like...Aqua...? but it's still a good name, and it's nice to meet you!

Don't worry, the shops aren't too far away, so you won't have to drip everywhere for long.

[He waves the platitude about his name off:] It's not that beautiful, but I hope I put it to good use! [Rei, please.]

[He laughs awkwardly; friendships are not something he eases into with grace; they're either relationships of convenience, or in the case of his swim team, something that takes a considerable amount of cajoling.]

T-Thank you! Though I feel yours is far more fitting. [It evokes a feeling, beyond that he'd be out of sorts to explain it. Literary theory may explain metaphor, but he's terrible at using it.

Then, another laugh, softer this time and less forced.] But yes, that would be nice. By all means, please lead the way.

[She can't help but admire his enthusiasm about putting his name to good use, at least!!! Very impressive!!

She does laugh when he says her name suits her, nodding--] Thanks! I think so too.

Regardless, right now is for leading the way to the shopping district, which Ruby takes to with some ease; she's been here for a reasonable period of time, and she knows her way around by now. Which is why he gets the Ruby Rose version of the tour.]

Oh, over there is the best place to buy strawberry cake! ...And that's where I work over there! [Yes, the mechanic shop] And you can get really need robot parts from that store over there!

[Robot parts. Of course. OF COURSE he's thrown into a place where that's casually mentioned, normal, as if the concept of owning anything that needed them wasn't years of research away, or so expensive you'd need a research grant.

And of course he's enraptured with all of it. The first step to figuring anything out is careful observation. (Well, technically the second, but the question of what Cerealia is, and all the whys and hows that come with it is obvious enough that it hardly needs to be uttered. Effective first step, at least.)

The mention of strawberry cake elicits a frown he's quick to shake off. Don't dwell on it, Ryugazaki, there's no need to embarrass yourself more than you already have today.]
