[ Rosinante stills immediately. If expressions were a window, it's about where the shutters would have been slammed down. He sure wasn't ready for that namedrop. Part of him wonders if he should have been, just in case. It's not like Doffy was going to fade into obscurity and twiddle his thumbs.

It's not like he doesn't bear a certain responsibility for his brother's future actions, a vice that wraps around his chest and tightens. ]

[Zoro can see the sudden tension. Fortunately, it's easy to assume this guy, like so many, has some kind of bad blood with Doflamingo.]

There's a long story behind it, but the short of it is, we were supposed to get him to step down from the shichibukai in exchange for one of his men. No go, so that's why we were fighting him instead. Before I came here, that is.

[ Important new knowledge: his brother became a shichibukai. Law and his allies are fighting him. Theoretically, he should have more than enough to put together a rough idea of what Law's behavior and strange decisions are about.

He'd like to think it isn't a deliberate turn in events. Hell, he'd like to have any real idea of what's going on. ]

Of all the questionable decisions he could possibly make-- [ What's so difficult to retain about "you shouldn't be around him"? What's not to understand? Chock it up to being more afraid of his brother than anything else, no matter how long he lives or what else he sees. ]

What the hell does he think he's doing?

[ KIDS. UGH. If he sees Law again, he's punching him. Thinking about punching him. Probably hugging him. Whatever. ]

Like I say, it's a long and convoluted story. At least it was probably nearing the end of a chapter when I got whisked here.

[ Some truths are better left unspoken unless absolutely, beyond a shadow of a doubt, necessary. And a connection with Doffy is one of those truths. ]

He has a way of creating a reputation; it's why I always told Law to avoid him. [ AS WELL AS THAT EVEN WORKED OUT. ] If you ever find out how that chapter ends, let me know.

A friend of an ally usually ends up friends of our crew in the end, so I may as well skip Luffy dragging you somewhere and say, you're welcome to stop by anytime. Cook keeps the good booze on hand, usually.
