Why is it--why's it not working?
[There's an edge to his voice, because even if he doesn't believe in magic the possibility that it might work (and therefore might be able to fend off the ghosts) is still one that a part of him will entertain.]

Something about being in ViViD is messing with it, but Draco doesn't know that. If he appears unconcerned, it's just because he's trying really hard not to think about the fact that maybe he just can't use magic in this place. THE HORROR.]
I couldn't say, it's never done this before. Might be a good chance to learn wandless magic, though, eh?
[He's joking, but even as he says it...he wonders. He's heard of some people being able to do bits of wandless magic here and there, but it's rare. That's the whole point of having a wand.
Granted, if kids can have unexpected bursts of magic without something to channel and control it, then why can't adults?]

[Apparently this robot also deals in sarcasm--he accompanies it with a roll of his optic. The sentiment, however, is short lived, as a light at the end of the corridor signals the approach of...something. Probably a ghost. Just their luck.]
I mean, if there's something you can do, now would be--would be a good time to do it. I'm not exactly magic.
[He's a robot. He's made of science.]
1/2
Honestly, he's not sure if he should be worried about it or not. Generally, ghosts where he's from can't really harm the living. And even if his wand was working, what could he do? Blow it away?
But this thing is quite a bit creepier looking than what he's used to, and he doesn't exactly trust anything in this world.]
I don't know that I can do much more than you, mate. Distract it, perhaps?
[He can probably manage that much. In fact...
Draco waits until the ghosts flies closer and then when it's almost upon them—
He vanishes.]
2/2
If all goes according to plan, maybe the ghost will do an about-face and follow him.]
Re: 2/2
[For once in his young robot life, Wheatley seems to be entirely at a loss for words. This defies absolutely everything he knows about the universe. People don't just turn into small animals. What kind of crazy nonsense is this!?]
What!?
[Ultimately, however he has no choice but to follow along, as everyone zips past him (ghost included--he supposes there is something to be said for being a fast-moving, distracting little thing). It's an effort to keep up, so he settles for calling down the long hallways.]
Wait, wait wait--how did you--how did you do that!?
1/2
It takes the ghost a second to figure it out and instead of immediately chasing after him again, it seems to get confused at there suddenly being a wall in front of it. Draco takes advantage of its hesitation and dashes back toward Wheatley.]
2/2
Magic! [Though he doesn't slow down, just keeps running.] Come on!
[Draco keeps moving until there's another side-path they can duck into. Hopefully by the time the ghost catches up, it'll just keep going down the straight corridor and not realize Draco and Wheatley took a detour.]
Re: 2/2
[Still, it's not like he has much choice in the matter, and he takes off after Draco, tossing a glance over his "shoulder" (for all intents and purposes), to make sure the ghost isn't in pursuit. So far so good.]
Next thing you're going to tell me is that wizards are real, or something.
no subject
Of course wizards are real. What do you think I am?
[Chances a look back out into the longer hallway.]
I think we've lost him. Or her. The ghost thing.
no subject
[He's seen those. They're not pretty, and it's the only way he can make sense of this. Sorry, Draco.]
Do you see a way out, then?
no subject
Magic is real. As are wizards. Do I need to show you again? [Harrumphs.] You don't see me doubting you and we don't have robots where I'm from.
no subject
[Wheatley's not sure he wants to see something like that again. It's a little too much for his delicate robot sensibilities.
Thankfully, he sees a potential end to this nightmare.]
There, that way! I think.
no subject
If you insist. I would hate to unsettle you further.
[He glances the way indicated, then nods.]
Alright. Since you think, you lead.
