Yeah, sure.

[ this guy is even more distracting than possible incoming death, with the yelling and all. but he's more than used to hot-blooded idiots yelling their heads off all the time.

he's a little less used to feeling so useless, but seriously, how's he supposed to compete with dragon swarm?

he's not so distracted he misses his pursuer's ugly friend, but it's one of the ones with fewer legs and less immediately dangerous sharp appendages, so ducks under one attack and thrusts the polearm up through its chest.

which sadly doesn't seem to be enough to kill it immediately, but it does seem to be a deterrent, and it stumbles back. he'd follow it as it drags itself back into the trees, but that seems like a bad idea. ]

[it's not really anyone's fault here; stahn's not out to make anyone feel less useful. he's just so used to the pursuit of monsters and looking out for other people that he's just terrible at holding back.

he catches something about "yelling," but not all of what's being said. it's something that can probably be questioned later, if he remembers when all is said and done. his eyes manage to catch a second monster coming into the fray, but most of his focus stays on what's in front of him, shooting off a few more artes (loudly) before it finally collapses.

it wasn't nearly as difficult as it could have been; stahn figures the difficulty of the game is probably lower than usual because of the new arrival factor. once one beast has fallen, he'll turn to help out... only to see that it's already retreated.]

Are you okay? [stahn could probably go after it with little consequence, but he'd rather check on the other person still standing than go fight more.]

[pickoffs]

[ with a sigh, he leans his weight on the spear, and turns his head to grin. ]

Yeah, I'm fine!

[ and then he seems to remember his manners: he straightens up to bow his head a little. ] Thanks for the help.

Don't mention it... I don't mind at all.

[he'll get a pretty confident thumbs up from stahn now.] I'm just glad to see you're okay. Those guys were pretty tough!

[pickoffs]

[ the thumbs up gets a cheery sort of finger gun in reply. ]

I dunno, you didn't seem like you were having that tough a time... is that magic?

Yeah, I guess it's something like that!

[some of that could technically be considered magic, he thinks.] I've fought a lot of monsters, so I guess I just know what to do. But they were still pretty strong!
