![]() ViViD's usual worlds are unfortunately down for maintenance. While CERES' programmers work on getting it back up and running, all new entrees this round will be going through a different level than usual. Only a single world is accessible at the moment, a simple one entitled 'CERESLearn.' "What the $%@& is this?" you must be thinking. Well, it's simple! It's a study program, of course! CERES' advanced AI technology is here to make sure you learn and that you learn sexily. Whether or not you pay attention to the actual content is up to you, the player. Please enjoy it while it lasts. They're here to teach you a variety of subjects and also to make you feel vaguely uncomfortable all over. New arrivals and those logging into ViViD will first find themselves in a classroom with a new operator greeting them rather than Vidia.

Welcome to CEREALIA's latest intro post. For your convenience, we have compiled a post detailing everyone's usual arrival experience (which is not entirely applicable this round for reasons stated above^) and a FAQ that should explain everything in more detail. Please read them thoroughly before playing. Thank you! |

However when she hears a voice she breaks her attention from the screen to look (well, "look" almost being figurative with her blindfold on) at the girl she believes is addressing her.]
Is that so?
[She says softly, curious about the girl's explanation. Her time period didn't have anything like cars and she can't quite properly absorb how to use one efficiently through a simulated game machine - not in the same way she could with the real thing.
So she turns her head back and does as the girl says. She tries to lean back further into the seat and softens her hold on the wheel, instead adjusting her foot on the pedal. It takes a few seconds but the game responds and the mph of the virtual car increases steadily. Rider turns her head back to the girl and smiles.]
It seems you were correct. Thank you. I've never ridden a car, so your advice was useful.

Such as why murdering a robotic tutor would get her a food coupon and not even an ounce of fulfillment. Perhaps she should look into one of those shooting games across the way...
Marcie shrugs and crosses her arms. The praise is nice, but her voice is still monotone like it's nothing new to her. Her attention is now on the neon colored game. ]
I don't know how to drive either. I just know how these things work from my dad's amusement park. What else is a seven-year-old girl supposed to do except pull these things apart to see how they work?

So you were raised around these machines and you became curious as to what they did. Are these machines only for entertainment or is there something else you were looking to discover?

[ That makes the corners of her lips turn upward a little. It starts to look like a smirk, but falls into a little smile instead. Marcie doesn't move from her spot and continues watching the game instead. It's not all that appealing to her, but it's the topic of conversation so it's what she'll keep her gaze on. ]
There's a spring right underneath the pedal. Really small and tightly wound. If you hit it just right, not even the computer will be able to catch up to you.

[She smirks at that comment and darts her head down to look down at the pedal. For a moment she lifts her foot and lets the pedal decompress, but then shifts her foot and presses down again to see if she can push down on the spring.
The virtual car goes speeds up again, going past the first place car that was giving her troubles. However it's only the last ditch attempt - the car crosses the finish line and the game ends with her as the winner.]
You understand these machines well. [She feels a small lift of pride. She slides back further and carefully steps out of the car seat. No longer sitting it's apparent she's taller than the average woman would be, her hair flowing down near her ankles.] Thank you for your assistance. Can I ask for your name?
no subject
My name...? [ She looks up at her a little surprised. It's been awhile since she's been asked that and it catches her off guard. Most people are just willing to call her that horrid nickname she can't escape. ] It's Marcie. Marcie Fleach.
no subject
Marcie. Pleased to meet you. You may call me Rider. Are you perhaps a resident of this city?
[It doesn't hurt to ask. She could use information from the natives.]
no subject
[ She looks over her shoulder, looking at everyone there and trying to figure out who's new and who isn't. There's no real indicator like vicious fangs or the typical grey alien one would see littered across magazine or in the Dinkley's museum. For the most part, nobody really stands out here... but then again, she reminds herself that her measurements are based on the residents of Crystal Cove. Wouldn't the most normal looking person be the one with the most information?
She turns to face her again. ]
But something tells me that we're not gonna learn much about this place unless we're watching someone drop a pencil and bending down to pick it up.
no subject
Unfortunately, even in that situation, we aren't going to learn much. [She hardly learned anything about this place from Hilda. Mainly because Hilda was far too busy trying to seduce her rather than actually teach her. She wasn't very good at it either.] It may just be they want us to learn on our own. If this place is real and that school wasn't, then exploration would be the best way to adjust.

[ There isn't much of a change of tone in her voice, but there's the most minute hint of excitement there. There are things she needs to know — about V, about that curse and if the world of hers really is destroyed because of it — and things her mind won't stop questioning about this place. She strikes up the opportunity to relive the experience of investigative thrill she once had with the gang. There's an itching of knowledge buzzing within her as the curiosity of CERES emanates in every vein of her somehow still in-tact body.
She won't choose wrong; there's no one to hold Velma's life or the reminder of her probation over her head. Even here she has a chance to change it all, to rearrange the world so that her only friend isn't in mortal danger. That's what excites her more than anything else. ]

[One of the things she did most in the Holy Grail War was silently stalk from the shadows, due to Shinji's cowardice. It was fun at times to simply observe from the shadows, a fly on the wall, watching as things developed. So many Servants were killed quickly all because they dashed into action too eagerly. Patience is often a virtue in many situations and this is no different.]
no subject
[ She reaches for her penlight, but doesn't turn it on. Marcie is ready for action. ]
Where do you think we should start?
no subject
[That seems to be the most reasonable thing to her.]
