![]() ViViD's usual worlds are unfortunately down for maintenance. While CERES' programmers work on getting it back up and running, all new entrees this round will be going through a different level than usual. Only a single world is accessible at the moment, a simple one entitled 'CERESLearn.' "What the $%@& is this?" you must be thinking. Well, it's simple! It's a study program, of course! CERES' advanced AI technology is here to make sure you learn and that you learn sexily. Whether or not you pay attention to the actual content is up to you, the player. Please enjoy it while it lasts. They're here to teach you a variety of subjects and also to make you feel vaguely uncomfortable all over. New arrivals and those logging into ViViD will first find themselves in a classroom with a new operator greeting them rather than Vidia.

Welcome to CEREALIA's latest intro post. For your convenience, we have compiled a post detailing everyone's usual arrival experience (which is not entirely applicable this round for reasons stated above^) and a FAQ that should explain everything in more detail. Please read them thoroughly before playing. Thank you! |
ii.
Bugs chasing little girls through hallways is not what he was expecting, but at least it doesn't take him any time at all to react.
He steps forward, drawing his sword, and sidesteps the bug in an easy movement. It's not hard--it's still intent on Sakura, and then quite neatly, his sword shears through the skin keeping its head attached to its body. He knows this is all virtual, but...well, he'll never quite understand how it can feel so real...
Regardless, he turns then, stepping away from the bug (it's still moving, which is disgusting, but not enough to be a threat).]
Are you unharmed?
no subject
Yes, I'm fine. Thank you for helping me, sir.
no subject
There's no need to thank me. It is not your fault that you've been put in this situation.
[He is glad that she's safe, though.]
It is probably not safe to remain in this place, though.
no subject
Do you know where the exit is? Although I'm... not entirely sure of how I got here in the first place.
no subject
There is a way out of this simulation, though I'm not certain yet what it is.
[...]
A way to return to our proper home hasn't been found yet.
no subject
Um, I'm sorry for this, but I'm not sure I understand. What do you mean by "simulation" and "proper home"?
no subject
Still, his pause is minimal, as he tries to figure out how to explain.]
This...is not real. It is a program that may be accessed by the people in this city. [whatever...that means. He's only fuzzily clear on the details.]
The city outside of this simulation is not your home.
no subject
no subject
Not.]
We've been brought here, or so we've been told. [...he's not bringing up the destroyed worlds thing, mostly because he doesn't believe it, and she seems anxious enough.] We are currently inside a program called ViViD.
...Calm down. There are ways to return to our proper place. It is simply a matter of finding them.
no subject
But she knows he's right and takes a deep breath as she tries to calm herself. So... she's not in Fuyuki City. She doesn't know how she ended up in a program, or whether that even means something like a virtual reality or something else, but one thing at a time, right? For now, getting out of here seemed like the best idea.]
Okay. Um, where do we go from here?
no subject
We are unable to... "log out" at the moment. [Computer terminology is so hard.] There must be a task that we still need to complete.
[Or fail.
Probably because the bug is still alive.]
no subject
Oh, that sure is the previously-dead bug moving behind him.]
Ah, behind you—!
no subject
Thankfully, Sousei was not particularly surprised by that. He's got plenty of combat experience in and out of this place, and he turns on his heel quickly, lifting his sword with a flick of his wrist to rid the bug of the claw that had been coming towards him.
Okay...time to test this.
It's only the work of a moment for Sousei to step forward, taking advantage of the bug's momentary flinch, and rid it of its head. Gross.]
no subject
Thank you, again. [Feelings of inadequacy aside though, decapitation definitely did the trick! The voucher suddenly appears, startling her. She doesn't really understand what this is for, or how it appeared, but...] Does this mean it's over?
no subject
But he glances around as they get that voucher and the virtual reality fades away to leave them in Cerealia proper. He stares at the voucher for a short moment, before folding it simply and tossing it into the first trash can in his sight.
Yeah right, like he's trusting that.]
Yes, you should be safe until the next incident. [Isn't that comforting...]
no subject
But wow where are they now??? She takes her own voucher, but she still looks around the area in confusion. This... certainly isn't the school anymore, and she's glad for that at least.]
The next incident... [Yeah, she's not sure what to think about that. More importantly though!] So this is the "real" world now, right?
no subject
...Yes. This is currently where we are living.
[Welcome to your new home, Sakura...]
It doesn't appear as if we can leave elsewhere.
no subject
But thank you so much for all of your help, sir. You saved me twice in there.
no subject
It was no trouble. To immediately place newcomers into danger is not only uncalled for, but also unfair.
[She might be competent any other time, who knows--it's hard to be competent when you're immediately tossed into that sort of situation without somewhat expecting it.]
I'm aware you must be confused, but I won't have any of the answers you're looking for. [Sadly... still, he'll at least lay it all out pretty bluntly.]
no subject
It's alright, I understand. I'll just try asking for answers elsewhere. [And probably not get a lot of answers oops... But now that she's out of danger, there's people she needs to look for.] If you'll excuse me then, and again, thank you!
no subject
So he nods in response, but tacks on--]
My name is Abe no Sousei. [just...don't mind the ridiculously outdated naming scheme.] If there are further problems, do not be afraid to contact me.
[Problems of the sort of...giant evil bugs. Sousei takes "putting a dent in CERES' day" very seriously.]
no subject
I'll be sure to keep that in mind. [Whether she actually takes him up on it or not is another question... It's better not to bother people!! Even for problems of the giant bug variety...... That aside though.] And my name is Sakura Matou. Until next time.
[And with another polite nod, she'll be off.]
