![]() ViViD's usual worlds are unfortunately down for maintenance. While CERES' programmers work on getting it back up and running, all new entrees this round will be going through a different level than usual. Only a single world is accessible at the moment, a simple one entitled 'CERESLearn.' "What the $%@& is this?" you must be thinking. Well, it's simple! It's a study program, of course! CERES' advanced AI technology is here to make sure you learn and that you learn sexily. Whether or not you pay attention to the actual content is up to you, the player. Please enjoy it while it lasts. They're here to teach you a variety of subjects and also to make you feel vaguely uncomfortable all over. New arrivals and those logging into ViViD will first find themselves in a classroom with a new operator greeting them rather than Vidia.

Welcome to CEREALIA's latest intro post. For your convenience, we have compiled a post detailing everyone's usual arrival experience (which is not entirely applicable this round for reasons stated above^) and a FAQ that should explain everything in more detail. Please read them thoroughly before playing. Thank you! |

Steve? Is that you?
[ Her voice came out a little bit more strangled then usual because after he left the last time she... Well, she didn't know what to expect. She certainly hadn't considered the possibility that he'd return. At least she hadn't after a week had gone by and not a word. ]

For a moment, he just stares. This isn't the first time he found himself looking at the last person he ever expected to see again. But this situation was different. This wasn't someone he thought dead, or even something he could rationally understand by the logics of home. Here he was, stumbling about in some strange new place, coming face to face with...]
...Peggy? You're-- but... how?
[Not a lot was making sense before this, but now he's even more confused. Not that he isn't glad to see her, because he is! This is just a lot to take in.]

[ She flashed a distracted smile and then took a step forward only to feel something give against her feet. Stopping, she glanced down and then bent at the knee to scoop up her discard purse, fumbling at the handles in her haste. ]
Perhaps we should go somewhere a bit more quiet then this. The others there will have plenty to discuss on their own, I'm sure.
[ she gave him another glance, worrying at her lip a little because there was something a little bit off about this Steve, but... No, it was just like the other one, but if that was the case, why was he so surprised?
She gestured off to the side. ] There's a cafe nearby; would that suit?

However, he did just witness a "tutor" turn into a monster. He may be outside of the game now, but from what he understood of what he was told, this was all some digitally remade reality anyway. Who was to say a fake Peggy couldn't be possible?
But who was to say they couldn't have uploaded the real Peggy, pulled from a time before he was separated from her?]
Yeah, I-- that'd be great, actually. [Which reminds him! He digs in his pocket and pulls out the coupon he won in the game.] I have a coupon? Is that the same place?
[He doesn't know if this is some kind of a trick, or a dream, or just some weird hallucination, but it's Peggy. The way she's talking, acting, carrying herself...It all feels right. While he's not dropping his guard, not completely, he's taking a chance to at least hear what she has to say.]
no subject
Don't be silly. That place doesn't even serve real tea. I had a place a little further from here in mind, actually, so long as you don't mind the staff in costume. In fact, there might even be a little bit of singing and dancing involved, if we're lucky. It's not quite so dissimilar to your days as a dancing monkey.
[ a brief smile flashed across her face for a brief moment before she remembered she was supposed to be explaining to him all the trials and tribulations of this new life. Especially considering she had her suspicions that he didn't remember his previous visit to this colony, however brief it was. And yes Steve, she is planning to take you to the cosplay cafe. At least the service was decent. ]
no subject
If this was a trick, how would someone else know those exact words?]
As long as it's not me that has to, I'm in. [It only takes him a few paces to reach the door, opening it and gesturing out it.] After you?
[It's not like he really knows where he's going, anyway. But he's ready to get out of this building and have a look around too. He doesn't know the full extent of what he's facing and he's ready to fix that. And if it means time with Peggy... well, it could be worse.]

Unless you've decided to accept a job at the cafe, you should be quite safe. [ for now ]
[ Stepping out into the street, she breathed in, settling her nerves and reminding herself that, for the moment, this was business and nothing at all like a date. It was just coffee, after all. Nodding (mentally) to herself, she turned, waiting for Steve to follow her. ]
Have you been well? I would ask what the last thing you remember was, but I have a feeling it's not something I'd be entirely familiar with.
[ The clothing gives at least a little bit of that away and the rest is, quite simply, experience. She had been one of the first to arrive in this place not too long ago. ]
no subject
He followed, putting his hands in his pockets after he stepped through the door. He had been watching her carefully, and he can sense her nerves. That's not super surprising, they danced around each other for a while, but there's something she doesn't say that does lead to some confusion.]
You'd be right, but you...don't seem surprised? [He's getting that timelines aren't straight here, but shouldn't she be thinking he's dead? Or has that not happened for her yet? But even if it hadn't, he doesn't exactly look like someone that's walked out of the 1940s, either. So that begs the question: how long as she been here?]
[ooc: hey, i'm no better! i'll backtag forever <3]
no subject
[ and she's not actually exaggerating, but his question does give her some pause as she pursed her lips, walking steadily down the street as she considered how best to share the news. But, alas, there was no easy method to it. Speaking bluntly, she watched his profile on principle
and not because she was infatuated. Not at all.]And I'm not surprised. I've been here the odd week or two [ or more ] already.
[ she gave him a small smile. ]
And I'm afraid we weren't entirely on the best of terms when we parted ways last time. You still aren't in the habit of letting random women kiss you, are you?
[ She can say that with a smile now, but it still hurt just a little. She had thought him to be a better man than that and, perhaps, she had thought she was a better woman too. Neither one had exactly been at their best that day. ]
no subject
I noticed that much. [He had come to realize there were several people that had been there longer than others, and it wasn't hard to tell Peggy was among an earlier group. But it was nice to have that confirmed. Maybe she would know more than some of the others about this mess they were in.
Her comment, though-- he's torn. There's a light laugh as he rubs under his nose, but it fades quickly. And not just because, yes, that still happened. Of all the times, she came from then?]
So you don't.. [He clears his throat now, unsure of how to proceed.] That... it's been a while, since that. For me, I mean.
no subject
Yes, I had rather gathered that. I don't suppose you'd like to tell me just how much time has passed?
[ his clothing was a little telling after all, but she relented a little and simply answered his other question with a somewhat lopsided smile. ]
And while I confess it wasn't actually deadly, it did leave more than a few men and women laid up at the hospital. Supposedly the only cure was to be found in ViViD which is still a little strange to me. Did you happen to get the crash course, already?
