![]() ViViD's usual worlds are unfortunately down for maintenance. While CERES' programmers work on getting it back up and running, all new entrees this round will be going through a different level than usual. Only a single world is accessible at the moment, a simple one entitled 'CERESLearn.' "What the $%@& is this?" you must be thinking. Well, it's simple! It's a study program, of course! CERES' advanced AI technology is here to make sure you learn and that you learn sexily. Whether or not you pay attention to the actual content is up to you, the player. Please enjoy it while it lasts. They're here to teach you a variety of subjects and also to make you feel vaguely uncomfortable all over. New arrivals and those logging into ViViD will first find themselves in a classroom with a new operator greeting them rather than Vidia.

Welcome to CEREALIA's latest intro post. For your convenience, we have compiled a post detailing everyone's usual arrival experience (which is not entirely applicable this round for reasons stated above^) and a FAQ that should explain everything in more detail. Please read them thoroughly before playing. Thank you! |
Re: II.
So he draws his sword, but he's a little bit distracted by the other man's sword for a moment before he turns his attention back to the monster to rush forward and stab it in between the eyes, making it collapse. It's not dead yet, but it's a little bit busy for a few seconds.
Backing off a few steps, he glances over at Sousei's sword. ]
Depends on how you look at it. Not from this thing.
no subject
(But this guy looks familiar too. That police officer Botan had brought along, right...? Sousei doesn't quite know if he ever caught his name, though, but why does he have his sword?)
Sousei backs off as well, circling the insect warily. The fact that it's not dead from a blow like that shows how dangerous it is.]
... Very well then. Let's finish this quickly, so we can deal with your injuries.
[Because you don't want to die on your first day, that'd be sad.]
no subject
[ Well, no. How is he supposed to look for his bride-to-be and a way to get her back if he's dead? He's pretty sure humans can't do that when they're dead.
Hirari goes around the monster from the other direction, keeping a close eye so it won't catch him off guard. He's also curious about this stranger, and wants to deal with the insect so he can ask some questions. That's a very specific sword design after all. ]
no subject
Well, here they are, and there really isn't time for hesitation.
He'll trust that this man who carries a similar (the same?) sword is capable of taking it from the other side, because for now, Sousei is going to lunge forward from where he is, aiming for the neck. Even something like this can't continue with a severed head, right?]
no subject
Without giving himself enough time to hesitate, he lunge forward in time with Sousei. That'll be a neck sliced into pieces. ]
no subject
None of it was real, even if it could murder them.
This place is weird. Slowly, Sousei sheathes his sword, approaching Hirari then, expression flat as ever (though he is a little concerned by that rather gruesome injury). And the way his eyes are drawn to that identical sword? Well, he can't help that either.]
Now we will find you proper medical attention.
no subject
What the-
[ Then he hears what the stranger is saying. ]
Right, yeah.
no subject
But as they walk, he supposes they should...talk?]
Presumably, the hospital here will be able to tend to you. There should not be any threats now that the previous has been taken care of, but...
[...it's impossible to tell here. He'll escort Hirari anyway.]
no subject
Why do you have a replica of my sword?
no subject
Sousei has a reasonably level head, at least. He narrows his eyes slightly at that, before shaking his head once.]
This is not a replica. It is the Abe family sword. My name is Abe no Sousei, and it has been passed down to me.
[So.... your turn, explain your weird sword!!!]
no subject
[ He's pretty sure that even with how many kids Abe take in, he ought to remember the faces of those who are still alive and grown up. So is he lying or has he married into the family? The sword being passed down has to be a lie though. ]
Abe no Hirari. And there's no way they've passed it on to you when I have it.
no subject
...Or not? It'd way too much of a coincidence that he has both the face and the name of that police officer, but he is certain the officer was not an Abe as well.
...Okay he has no idea what's going on here. But he holds up his sword for Hirari to see it, exasperated with the almost-accusations.]
As you can see, it is the proper Abe sword. [so there must be some explanation.]
no subject
That doesn't make any sense. I've got it right here.
no subject
[Sousei, on the other hand...well, he has no idea what to believe about this place. But...he did meet tenka's ancestor--
But wait, no, Hirari was a police officer? He'd think it's a case of the same name, but he also looks the same. What's going on here?]
I have no reason to lie to you. Many things make little sense here.
[Though you are probably one of the more nonsensical, Hirari....]
no subject
[ Hey, what're you trying to say there, Sousei? ]
no subject
Here.
Take it. Look at it.]
Make your own assessment.
no subject
How do you have it when I've got it right here?
no subject
...It may be a time discrepancy. That sword was passed down to me, as the inheritor of the Abe family name.
[A more thoughtful pause at that, considering the implications of this.]
However, it was possessed by others throughout time [...] and likely will be after my time as well.
[Though judging by your clothing, Hirari, he's assuming before his time.]
If that is the case, then they may be the same sword from different periods in time. [As weird as that is to think about, it's not even the weirdest thing he's seen here.]
no subject
[ He knows there's things that seem impossible to others, or just legends, like the Orochi, but this most certainly can't be true. ]
That's just... insane.
no subject
Believe what you want. However, meeting Kumou Kagemitsu has convinced me such a thing is possible. He lived over 600 years before my time.
no subject
You know Kagemitsu? We're talking about the same Kagemitsu? That bratty one with the tanuki?
no subject
...The first head of the Kumou family, yes.
no subject
And he believed you? Well you can't be mine, so who's your ancestor?
no subject
So instead, he keeps his tone and voice steady.]
I do not know. I was separated from the Abe family at a young age. [Like...before he could have ever learned any of that information.]
no subject
Can Botan even have kids? He's not sure. ]
Huh, so they're doing the opposite now?
