![]() ViViD's usual worlds are unfortunately down for maintenance. While CERES' programmers work on getting it back up and running, all new entrees this round will be going through a different level than usual. Only a single world is accessible at the moment, a simple one entitled 'CERESLearn.' "What the $%@& is this?" you must be thinking. Well, it's simple! It's a study program, of course! CERES' advanced AI technology is here to make sure you learn and that you learn sexily. Whether or not you pay attention to the actual content is up to you, the player. Please enjoy it while it lasts. They're here to teach you a variety of subjects and also to make you feel vaguely uncomfortable all over. New arrivals and those logging into ViViD will first find themselves in a classroom with a new operator greeting them rather than Vidia.

Welcome to CEREALIA's latest intro post. For your convenience, we have compiled a post detailing everyone's usual arrival experience (which is not entirely applicable this round for reasons stated above^) and a FAQ that should explain everything in more detail. Please read them thoroughly before playing. Thank you! |

Reim takes in this jungle news with an only mildly weary expression, just mildly... He'll have to upgrade that later, when the sheer depth of that absurdity sinks in.]
Really... That's hard to believe, but after today— Well, you know.
[He thinks about it; there seem to be two obvious possibilities up front: CERES is not only suspicious but definitely up to some shady stuff, or there's a third group after the company and themselves, the people brought in. He's willing to consider that until someone tips their hand.]
A young woman at the festival brought up the idea of this place's original inhabitants having a grudge of sorts against that man, Julius. I don't know if she was merely speculating, of course, but... [A shrug, as he trails off. So. Has anyone mentioned that. Huh.]
no subject
That's possible. Those people who showed up and tried to get people to play along had to come from somewhere... [Maybe inside CERES, maybe a bunch of rude miscreants living in the gutters... It Is A Mystery.]
Guessing seems like it's the only thing that most people can manage. People seem really willing to talk about it and speculate, though! [Which, he imagines, is good for Reim and his undying thirst to write Everything down.]
no subject
I hope they're serious about it, then. [He has a higher standard than "this sucks" "yeah," so these unnamed people had better not disappoint him!!]
Well, we'll deal with that when more information is available. For instance, what exactly went wrong with this food.
no subject
But!! More importantly:]
Did you try some? People are really split with their opinion of it.
no subject
That said, the weird burger. He looks down at his free meal, which is untouched not in the literal way, because he did poke it around the plate, but untouched in the "I would rather starve" way.]
I'm not sure I trust it not to turn into something else.
no subject
Oz will look at his burger too, though! ...It actually looks a little more innocuous than he had expected, considering half the people he talked to warned him that he'd probably be sick if he ate one.]
It's probably better not to find out. There's a reason people are avoiding them! Someone said that the last burger they had made them hallucinate. [...] But then I met some people who said it was fine to eat, too.
no subject
Reim's face sort of flip-flops between disgusted and weary in the next moment. Is everything Oz tells him going to come with a but then...? Is this his fate?]
I will pass. Another restaurant must be close by. Even a market. [He will teach himself to cook passably well rather than eat this free psycho-burger.]
no subject
But yes, everything that Oz has to say does more or less come with a BUT THEN attached. This is what happens when no one seems to have one solid opinion.]
If you're looking for something like that, I can help! [At which point he'll reach into his pocket and withdraw... A LIST. A list of safe places to eat and stores run by friendly people and things like that!! Oz has been hitting up the right citizens, clearly.]
The person who gave this to me said that the food is safe in these places.
no subject
But A LIST that's very helpful. Can he have that, can he copy it down...]
You obtained this rather quickly... [he's impressed, this is quality heckling of the people] May I?
no subject
I was lucky enough to run into some really helpful people. [Unlike Ciel, who just got Captain Abe No "Everyone Is Trying To Murder Each Other" Sousei.] Actually, most of the people that I talked to had something to offer. Information or things to avoid or run-downs of things that have already happened... Oh! Like it seems that all new arrivals have to deal with something unpleasant.
no subject
What a terrible rite of passage. A few people I spoke with mentioned something similar, but I didn't realize the pattern had to do with people arriving... Monthly, is it?
[That's what the little elf boy or-whatever-he-is said.]
no subject
That's what I've heard. It sounds like things have gone wrong like clockwork every time they pull in new people... For being capable of the things they claim, that's not a reassuring system.
[Which he says lightly, but really guys...]
no subject
Their methods must not be as precise as they think. That's no excuse to keep trying, if it goes wrong every time— Not, I suppose, that what we think of it has any bearing on whether they'll keep doing it or not.
no subject
If they're trying to fill this place up, they won't listen at all. [Oz is honestly a little suspicious of just about everything in their flawed retrieval process anyway.] I guess we could try talking to that guy... He doesn't sound very receptive though, if he just gives out money and apologies for mistakes that almost kill people.
[There it is, the thing Oz is most buttblasted about currently.]
no subject
That's a good point though; how well would operation: complain to management actually work?]
Let's hope he has a few competent subordinates, in that case. Someone has to be paying attention, even if they haven't the authority to do anything about all this.
no subject
Then let's find out! [says Oz enthusiastically while SLAMMING HIS HANDS DOWN ON THE TABLE. Lightly... He doesn't want to send burgers flying everywhere. He will stand after that, though, clearly intent on doing this thing like right away?! He's feeling antsy...]
I'm going to talk to more people and gather information. [And look for Gilbert considering he's heard a description that fits him pretty well. "Tall, dark and afraid of women"...] We should regroup later, okay?
no subject
Reim startles slightly - how do you lightly slam a table, weirdo - but sure?? Okay?? Good luck Oz.]
Ah- yes. Yes, of course. Where should I meet you?
[Anywhere but here...]
no subject
How about the entrance to the housing district? I don't know how to give more specific directions, but that's easy to find.
[He doesn't know any street names... are there even street names?? It is a true mystery, what is going on.]
