While CERES' programmers work on getting it back up and running, all new entrees this round will be going through a different level than usual. Only a single world is accessible at the moment, a simple one entitled 'CERESLearn.' "What the $%@& is this?" you must be thinking. Well, it's simple! It's a study program, of course! CERES' advanced AI technology is here to make sure you learn and that you learn sexily. Whether or not you pay attention to the actual content is up to you, the player. Please enjoy it while it lasts. They're here to teach you a variety of subjects and also to make you feel vaguely uncomfortable all over. New arrivals and those logging into ViViD will first find themselves in a classroom with a new operator greeting them rather than Vidia. "Greetings and welcome to Cerealia! It's nice of you to join us at last. As you can see, we're just about to get started! Here are the instructions: ♥ Choose your subject of choice. They include things like medicine, math, CERES economics, CERES history, fun facts about Julius, engineering, and science! ♥ Choose your tutor. You can hire Astor, Hilda, or UN-Zippy ♥ They'll teach you slowly, deliberately, sensually. Then after that, they'll drill you hard and without stopping. ♥ Just when you think you've had enough, they'll quiz you all over until you're sweating and panting. ♥ For those of you who pass, you'll be welcomed well into Cerealia and be given a free voucher for a McCERES Mildly Content meal. Please enjoy!"

//SCENARIOS.EXE PHASE I [ xxxx ] Once you choose your lesson and your tutor, you will be transported to a classroom where you and a few other players who decide to choose the same lesson will sit with your tutor after school, getting knowledge taught to you by someone who seems more intent on learning what's under your clothes than filling your head with knowledge. They will be awkwardly stretching, dropping pencils by 'accident' on the floor, and bending down slowly to pick them up. Certain things might be spilling out of their clothes. Awkward things. They will breathe down your neck and make sure you are well-versed in their anatomy by the end of the lesson. Fortunately, it won't last long as their bodies start to flicker erratically. PHASE II [ xxxx ] Just as things begin to escalate, the flickering will grow intense until your tutor will start to morph before your eyes. What takes their place is something that is anything but friendly. And yes, it will continue to breathe down your neck and speak in a sweet, soft, alluring voice while reaching out with its 'hands' to try and touch you. This will be your cue to run through the halls of the school while That Thing chases you in every single direction imaginable. There will be others joining you as everyone starts bolting out of their classrooms. PHASE III [ xxxx ] Feeling tired already? Well, don't stop and rest now! For those who successfully murder their own tutor, they will get their food voucher and a lovely welcome into CERES. You've officially passed! Everyone will be allowed to mingle around the game room in the CERES Research Tower before being directed into McCERES just across the street. For those who were already in the colony, you will also receive a voucher and directions to McCERES at the end of the game in case you want to go meet up with the newcomers there or just eat some artery-killing fast food. PHASE IV [ xxxx ] For those who get eaten by That Thing or don't pass their quizzes and upset their tutors, they will be forced to endure the Price of Failure. This means being sent to the gym with the other 'failures' to endure a painfully slow and erotic striptease by UN-Zippy. Once that is over, they will then be logged out and allowed to have their complimentary McCERES voucher. BONUS [ whyo'clock ] Congratulations on surviving CERESLearn! Here's your complimentary voucher for a free Mildly Content Meal at McCERES. This month's special is also the McKnight Burger. Characters are immediately invited to take a load off and enjoy some good ol' fashion fast food of questionable origin. Those who decide to order and eat here will also get a special toy included inside their Mildly Content Meals. [He tips his head slightly.] Can I?

[immobileyes]

[ She's unaccustomed to this firm confidence, when Seto had been sweetly awkward, the others confused, Momo frazzled. His interest in her can't be because of rumors, the monster who lived in an unforgiving forest-- she's confused, and it shows.

... But he's already tried to reassure her. She's sure he can't be bad, and everything she knows of lions, she thinks through. Mighty. Brave.

It should be all right. ]

... All right. [ it's a quiet murmur, still nervous. ]

[lionly]

[Elza seems pleased at that, the end of his tail flicking back and forth, giving this away.] Great. You can ask about me too, if you want. I don't mind.

But, hm-- [He considers. Something light, easy, to keep their conversation and the mood as such.]

What kind of things do you like?

[immobileyes]

Books. [ ... she sure said that immediately. ] When I was little, it was always fun to imagine myself in those worlds, and then I wouldn't be so lonely. And, um, I like flowers too!

[lionly]

[And I wouldn't be so lonely? Elza replays the words in his mind. But he's wise enough not to ask about that, at least not yet, just barely after meeting.]

Books and flowers. [He smiles.] I'm guessing you'd like books on flowers too.

[immobileyes]

[ Wise decision, that. ]

Mm! Like their meanings, and how to make flower crowns and--

[ She actually needs to stop herself from rambling, turning pink with the realization. ]

U-um, what about you... Elza? What do you like?

[lionly]

[Elza finds the excitement of hers absolutely endearing, what a nice young miss. He's still smiling when she cuts off, his chin on his palm.]

Me? Hmm--

I'll give you a typical knight answer, I think: I enjoy my duties. Swordplay, defending others, so on. [He touches the hilt of his sword with the tips of his fingers.] Duty keeps me rather busy, but I do like it, and I'm glad I serve under the captain I do.

[immobileyes]

You're a knight?? [ so many knights today, what a haul. ] L-like the ones who fight for honor and to protect the kingdom and the princess and--

[ ELZA YOU'RE SO COOL??? ]

[lionly]

[He blinks a couple of times. And then he starts to laugh. Ahh, so she reads about knights and such too, does she? Elza nods and winks, playful.]

That's right. Though, sadly, I haven't had any princesses to protect lately.

[immobileyes]

[ She takes this very seriously, you know. ]

Mm... then maybe there's one here?

[ Not that she wants anyone to stay here, but a temporary solution! ]

[lionly]

A princess to defend, you mean? Hmmm.

[Elza considers... and then he lifts up her captured hand, easygoing and playful.] What about you?

[immobileyes]

[ Mary's eyes instantly go wide, as she shakes her head. ]

N-no, I'm not a princess at all!

[ "Queen," she remembers, faintly, in dreams, a title she doesn't understand. ]

I don't have a castle and I'm not very graceful and I'm more like...

[ ... the monster. But she can't say that, can she? ]

[lionly]

[Elza laughs and his head shakes from side to side.]

All of that doesn't matter; there's more to being one than those, aren't there? I think that you'd make a great princess.

[Besides, Fiona's been called the "caged princess" and so on and so forth, so he thinks the term is quite flexible in the end.]

[immobileyes]

... Why? If I wasn't born one--

[ ELZA SHE DOESN'T GET IT. ]

[lionly]

Because you're kind, and... don't a lot of princesses have long hair like yours?

[Yeah no that kind of reason is totally legit. IT'S FINE.]

[immobileyes]

Is... is that really all the reason you need to defend me?

[lionly]

Certainly. As a knight, it's my duty to defend anyone in trouble, isn't it?

[While he grasps onto her hand with one of his, he brings the other one to his chest, ducking his head in a small bow.] Consider me your servant. I'll make certain that you'll be safe until we can find our way from here.

[immobileyes]

[ A pause, as she debates this, before she squeezes his hand. ]

... Can't you just be my friend?

[lionly]

Ah.

[Caught off guard by the question, the request, Elza actually blushes. How sweet. What a sweet girl. He smiles, nodding without hesitation.] Certainly. I'd be happy to be your friend.

[immobileyes]

[ ... Oh, she made him blush. She's not sure whether she's pleased by her sudden mastery of inducing blushes or just happy that she was brave enough to earn a friendship, but either way, she'll smile now. ]

[lionly]

[Elza shakes his head, giving her hand another squeeze before letting their hands drop between them. His tail is moving again, little twitches back and forth.]

I'm pretty sure that I should be the one thanking you. So thank you, Mary.

[immobileyes]

[ She nods, slightly-- and then blinks down at his tail. ]

... That ribbon...

[lionly]

Hm? [Elza glances down too and smiles, flicking up his tail lightly to show off the black ribbon tied into a bow.]

Isn't it cute?

It is! I didn't know leavies liked things on their tails.
