![]() ViViD's usual worlds are unfortunately down for maintenance. While CERES' programmers work on getting it back up and running, all new entrees this round will be going through a different level than usual. Only a single world is accessible at the moment, a simple one entitled 'CERESLearn.' "What the $%@& is this?" you must be thinking. Well, it's simple! It's a study program, of course! CERES' advanced AI technology is here to make sure you learn and that you learn sexily. Whether or not you pay attention to the actual content is up to you, the player. Please enjoy it while it lasts. They're here to teach you a variety of subjects and also to make you feel vaguely uncomfortable all over. New arrivals and those logging into ViViD will first find themselves in a classroom with a new operator greeting them rather than Vidia.

Welcome to CEREALIA's latest intro post. For your convenience, we have compiled a post detailing everyone's usual arrival experience (which is not entirely applicable this round for reasons stated above^) and a FAQ that should explain everything in more detail. Please read them thoroughly before playing. Thank you! |

There are a few dozen of us around now, I think.
[He stares at Oz, confused. How can you even have a vague idea of this kind of thing before you hear it? It's nothing like he's experienced before, so he doesn't see how Oz could have before coming here.]
But what were you expecting, then? I had none myself, considering I barely knew what I was getting into in the first place.
no subject
I'm not exactly sure what I was expecting, but something... shorter, maybe? I came from a place that wasn't my home either, but I was only there for a week. It sounds like I'll be here for a lot longer.
[He seems to be taking it in stride, though...]
no subject
[Cynbel should be less surprised, considering he makes a habit of slipping through reality back home like it's nothing, but the surprise is all over his face before he thinks better of it. Too late now.]
That's amazing! And you left within a week? It would be much better if we could do such a thing here, but I doubt we'll be so lucky.
no subject
[Or when they'd be going... there... so his interdimensional travels are actually just as much of a mess in jamjars as they are in his home world. WHAT FUN.]
But I guess a week would be too little a time frame if they're talking about our worlds being gone...
no subject
Ah, yes, there's always that.
[He hadn't forgotten, but he'd been trying not to think about it for a while. This is a harsh reminder.]
And we must consider that your time in the world you came from last may have been cut short due to all this destruction, as well.
no subject
But he's looking a little discomforted by that, because it means Alice would have been megamurdered in two worlds at the same time somehow?! It's a good thing he's got one foot firmly anchored in the sea of denial so he can continue refusing the idea that their worlds are really gone.]
That might have something to do with it, but the people who brought us there more or less said that they didn't need us anymore.
[For what reason, he's not sure. Presumably because they all turned out to be rebels who mowed the game fence down with a tank and then stopped their brainwashed comrade from going on a mass shooting spree...]
It's suspicious timing.
no subject
Are you suggesting the people who took you to that place are involved in this place, as well?
[Because that would be scary and shady, and Cynbel's only comfortable with one of those at a time.]
no subject
I never really met the people who were responsible for that, so I don't think I'd be able to answer well. [This said with a look that seems both concerned and marginally agitated...] But I'll be paying close attention just in case.
no subject
It's rather concerning, even just as a possibility... It would mean, at least, that the people in charge here are outright lying about the state of our worlds.
[And that will put them on Cynbel's blacklist, effective immediately.]
no subject
But he doesn't say one way or another whether he agrees with that, even though it's pretty obvious that he has his own suspicions. Instead, he just says:]
Will you let me know if you find out any information? I'll tell you, too.
no subject
You're asking to make a deal with me?
[People are way too relaxed with that here. Haven't they ever read a fairy tale? Still, Cynbel decides to go for it, before Oz has a chance to change his mind.]
Alright. We'll exchange information on anything we think may be related to this matter, then!
no subject
I guess you could consider it a favor, if you wanted. ["Deal" sounds so stiff and formal!! And potentially binding in ways that will end poorly...!]
But thank you! [And then he's smiling again, and the somberness seems to lift away.] It'll be faster that way, I think... I just hope that there's anything to find at all.
no subject
Basically, it's too late for Oz, and Cynbel will keep his end of the bargain as best he can. Good compromise!]
As you like, then; it's a "favor".
[He shakes his head.]
But if there's nothing to find, then we'll just have to look at something else, won't we? Don't give up too soon!
no subject
Right! Right, I'm not going to give up that easily. It's not like there would really be nothing at all to find. [Now he's cursed them both, probably...
But he'll sigh after that and set his hands against his hips, feeling a little more content now that he's set a foot down on the path that will hopefully lead him toward more answers.]
Anyway, I have to go look for some people now. [GRUMPY PEOPLE.] Thanks for showing me the way out of that thing.
no subject
[If they're anything like Oz, they're sure to get in trouble, and fast... How unlucky.]
Until I see you again, Sir Gardener.
[And he'll just give Oz a quick little wave, a smile, and move to walk away.]
