Who: abe no "i'm so gloomy now" sousei & all of you people
When: IC: 1/21-23 || OOC: 6/17-20ish WHENEVER
Where: Various, catch him wherever suits!
What: What do you do when your partner's gone missing? Do dumb things and check on all of his adopted children, naturally.
Rating/Warning: None!
a. open - around the shopping district;
[At first, he didn't really think anything was wrong. Tenka going missing was naturally concerning, but he could've been at work, or the like. But as the day drags on and he doesn't show up, Sousei actually picks up his phone to call him.

That's...that's very bad. Don't mind Sousei just standing in the middle of the sidewalk staring down at the CereVice in his hand.
At least, until he snaps back into action, turns abruptly, and starts going in the other direction. Too bad he didn't look where he was going first, hopefully his abrupt stop and equally abrupt direction change didn't cause any traffic jams.
Otherwise he can be found poking his head into shops and through alleyways and possibly even opening up and peering into trash cans. What does he think he's going to find there? Who knows. He has to give it a try, though. Even if he does look ridiculous with a trash can lid held over his head.]
b. open - gym;
[And as it drifts into the next day with still no Tenka, Sousei has to admit what he very much doesn't want to--namely that Tenka's gone, and they have no idea if he'll come back or anything. The city has only just started to run properly again after that entire ghost scare; still, it's hard to really appreciate that when it's becoming starkly obvious that everything is not quite right now.
Which is why he can be found in the gym even before his shift begins, practicing. It's good to practice. It's a good way to stay fit, and sharp, which is necessary after that entire fiasco.
Of course, he may be taking this a little too far, as the time drags on into hours and his breathing comes in short, sharp pants. He should probably take a break, but it doesn't seem like it's all too likely right now.]
c. semi-open: to tenka's close cr/people he adopted/etc;
[If Tenka knew you or was trying to take care of you or wanted to help you in some way or was even just amused by you, chances are he told Sousei. And now, as it edges into the third and four and fifth day and still no sign of Tenka coming back, he has to admit that that's probably the case. It had taken Soramaru two weeks to come back, so it isn't as though there isn't hope--but even so, he can't leave this for two weeks.
So he goes to perform his Not Fun Dad duties (which, for the record, he never signed up for). So if Tenka knew your address, he'll be awkwardly knocking on your door, or if he otherwise sees you around the city, he'll be approaching.
Awkwardly.
Sorry if you've never met him before, but he has a Duty to perform, and that duty is looking out for Tenka's gigantic swarm of adoptees and making sure they're all okay after that entire ViViD and technological fiasco.]
Excuse me.
[Don't mind him. He's just a little more Awkward than Tenka--and he's a little tired, though it's hard to tell from his face.]

okay, not exactly. celty manages to swerve her motorcycle around him when he turns, just managing to miss crashing into him. there's a sharp whinny as the bike skids to a stop a few feet behind him, but otherwise, no harm done.
her helmet turns up to him afterwards and she takes out her device, turning on the text to voice function. ]
I'm sorry. Are you alright, Sousei?
no subject
Rather, he blinks, coming back to himself abruptly, stashing his CereVice away as if burned.]
... I'm sorry. That was my fault. [He can at least acknowledge that much. And, hastily--]
I'm fine. I was simply...distracted by something. I hope I did not cause you too much trouble.
no subject
[ distracted, though? ever since she met him, he seemed like a very focused person, always aware of his surroundings. there must be something really troubling him if he's this distracted. ]
If you'll pardon me for asking, has something been troubling you?
[ aside from being stuck here in general. ]
no subject
...Somewhat. It is nothing that can currently be changed, however.
Do not concern yourself with it. I apologize for stopping you on your way.
[He's dumb and the sort to try to pretend everything is fine anyway, what a loser.]
no subject
[ she won't push if he really doesn't want to talk about it. but, it doesn't mean she can't offer some help, if he wants to take it. ]
We haven't known each other for very long and it may not be in my place to offer, but if you feel the need to talk about it, I would be happy to lend an ear.
[ but can u really imagine sousei doing a feelings jam tho. ]
... Or alternatively, if you need something to take your mind off of it.
no subject
He's just not sure. Still, it's a generous offer that he really wasn't expecting. After all, they really aren't very close, and surely everyone here has more than enough problems of their own.]
...Thank you. That won't be necessary, but I appreciate the offer.
[He doesn't know how he'd take his mind off of this, but if it's that obvious on his face, maybe he'll have to consider that for later.
For now, he'll change the subject to something safer.]
I assume you made it out of the recent situation without too much difficulty?
no subject
but she takes his response with a nod, and that's the end of that. ]
Yes, I'm fine. It helped that I was expecting something, I think. Despite their assurances that we'd be safe and that they are handling the situation, the most recent broadcast made it difficult not to be suspicious. I'm sure you'd agree.
[ yes, great subject change. let's shittalk the newest CEO and her asshole of a secretary. ]
no subject
Yes, of course. [He shakes his head, crossing his arms slowly.]
It is clear they intend to make some form of profit off of us. The fact that they did not even feel the need to try to hide it is...
[...Galling? Impressive? He doesn't know.]
no subject
[ they're no different than pets. ]
I'm still wondering what kind of profit they'll make. I suppose if the world restorations are successful, they'll be able to take the credit for that and have compensation. Other than that, I can't think of anything else they'll be able to make money from.
no subject
[He's been trying to wrap his head around this entire situation, but....it's difficult. He understands businesses in the basic sense, but intergalactic monster businesses stretch his understanding to the straining point.
What could possibly be worth so much here?]
If so, that could be more harmful to our worlds as well, if they expect us to offer it.
no subject
I'm not sure. I'd like to think that it won't be the case, but at this point, I wouldn't be very surprised. Given CERES' track record, anything can happen.
no subject
If nothing else, this is the way of thinking we should use as we try to figure out their motivation. That CEO, Recreare, was quite clear as to her intentions of making a profit off of this situation.
[So...they just have to figure out how.
Maybe by using their organs on the intergalactic black market, yeah.]
no subject
[ don't say it. she's going to freak out. ]
It's difficult, but for now it seems all we can do is bide our time and be vigilant. There are too many questions and not enough answers.
no subject
There are. [now he's going to consider being really, really reckless..... this is what happens when neither Tenka nor Kiiko is around to keep Sousei from being stupid.]
But we may not have to wait for answers. There must be places that we have not yet explored.
[consequences be damned....]
no subject
You mean the research district?
[ she's reminded of a conversation she had with yata a while back (i wanna break in the research tower but oz says robots will come after me) and while she wants to, breaking in without a plan is a recipe for disaster. ]
I'm not sure if you remember, but during the botched rescue mission a few months back, I had recorded our progress in the research tower. I still have the map of it.
[ they didn't get super far, but it's a start. ]
no subject
Though she's not wrong about that. Doing it without a plan is just asking for trouble.
Too bad he's basically at the point of being willing to ask for trouble.]
Is that so. A map would not be a bad idea. [She's not trying to stop him, so...he'll listen to her.]
Could I see it at some point?
