What: What do you do when your partner's gone missing? Do dumb things and check on all of his adopted children, naturally.

a. open - around the shopping district;

[At first, he didn't really think anything was wrong. Tenka going missing was naturally concerning, but he could've been at work, or the like. But as the day drags on and he doesn't show up, Sousei actually picks up his phone to call him.

That's...that's very bad. Don't mind Sousei just standing in the middle of the sidewalk staring down at the CereVice in his hand.

At least, until he snaps back into action, turns abruptly, and starts going in the other direction. Too bad he didn't look where he was going first, hopefully his abrupt stop and equally abrupt direction change didn't cause any traffic jams.

Otherwise he can be found poking his head into shops and through alleyways and possibly even opening up and peering into trash cans. What does he think he's going to find there? Who knows. He has to give it a try, though. Even if he does look ridiculous with a trash can lid held over his head.]

b. open - gym;

[And as it drifts into the next day with still no Tenka, Sousei has to admit what he very much doesn't want to--namely that Tenka's gone, and they have no idea if he'll come back or anything. The city has only just started to run properly again after that entire ghost scare; still, it's hard to really appreciate that when it's becoming starkly obvious that everything is not quite right now.

Which is why he can be found in the gym even before his shift begins, practicing. It's good to practice. It's a good way to stay fit, and sharp, which is necessary after that entire fiasco.

Of course, he may be taking this a little too far, as the time drags on into hours and his breathing comes in short, sharp pants. He should probably take a break, but it doesn't seem like it's all too likely right now.]

c. semi-open: to tenka's close cr/people he adopted/etc;

[If Tenka knew you or was trying to take care of you or wanted to help you in some way or was even just amused by you, chances are he told Sousei. And now, as it edges into the third and four and fifth day and still no sign of Tenka coming back, he has to admit that that's probably the case. It had taken Soramaru two weeks to come back, so it isn't as though there isn't hope--but even so, he can't leave this for two weeks.

So he goes to perform his Not Fun Dad duties (which, for the record, he never signed up for). So if Tenka knew your address, he'll be awkwardly knocking on your door, or if he otherwise sees you around the city, he'll be approaching.

Awkwardly.

Sorry if you've never met him before, but he has a Duty to perform, and that duty is looking out for Tenka's gigantic swarm of adoptees and making sure they're all okay after that entire ViViD and technological fiasco.]

Excuse me.

[Don't mind him. He's just a little more Awkward than Tenka--and he's a little tired, though it's hard to tell from his face.]

[LOOK HE'S ONTO YOU.......

... ... but well. That's... Sousei pauses, blinking in legitimate surprise at the question, and his answer is startlingly sincere as well.]

I suppose I am, yes.

[He never really had tons of friends before, okay...this is still a new experience for him. But he was hardly going to deny that.]

[That just earns Sousei a RUDE LAUGH because he's right, Kashuu is a chatty one-man rumour mill... But also because it's still kind of novel being referred to like that. As the sort of person who would do this or that...

But ugh, what a dang softie.]

Makes sense! [Because he can tell Sousei is a good person, and it's pretty natural for good people to attract more of the same, right? He turns on his heel and finishes his latest set with a smile.]

Good, good. That means you prooobably have a lot of people to watch out for, but you got a lot of people to watch out for you, too.

[Which in turn means that whatever has Sousei down now is something that he'll be able to handle, most likely, and not just by merit of his own solitary strength. Having a support network is important.]

[It's tricky, really. He does have a good support network, that's undeniably true. They would support him with everything they had--if he let them. But they are not the Yamainu, they are not Kiiko, they are not Tenka. He likes them, and thinks highly of them, and he knows they are good people.

But he is not looking to unload his burdens onto them.

It doesn't seem right.

And he doesn't really know how.]

I suppose so, yes. That appears to be the case. [There's a pause, and he shakes his head, standing now before his muscles stiffen too much.]

So you do not need to concern yourself with it, Kiyomitsu.

[There's something about the way he words that that catches Kashuu's attention, and with his set finished, he can focus more fully on him. ...But in the end, he decides to say nothing about it. That seems like one of those topics that requires a more delicate touch to handle, so he would have to think about it more before speaking and it looks like Sousei might be gearing up to leave.]

Fine, fine!

[He says in a way that definitely implies he's going to concern himself with it anyway... Likely to the surprise of no one. But as a last in, he adds:]

You can just call me Kashuu, y'know.

[Sousei pauses at that.

Tenka is literally the only person he calls by his first name, okay, he doesn't even call Kiiko by her first name, because he is a Lame Nerdlord.

But, even so...]

Is that what you would prefer?

[He supposes it's not a big deal, just....strange.]

Kinda! I don't mind too much, but Kiyomitsu was my smith's name. [So he considers it a last name of sorts, since he doesn't have a school name like the Awataguchis or a more proper "last" name like the Toushirous or Samonjis.]

But I guess it sounds prettier than Kashuu...

Then I will call you Kashuu.

[Wow that was a fast turnaround!! Is it because Kashuu was thinking about how pretty his last name is? Yes, yes it is.

This is Sousei's version of giving Kashuu shit, honestly.]

[WHAT A BUTTHEAD. He's glad to help Sousei out when he's feeling down but this isn't how he wants to do it.]

Hey... It sounds like an insult when you change your mind that fast.

[Kashuu makes it incredibly easy, okay...even Souseis can make jokes.

But in response to that, he just arches an eyebrow simply.]

It is your name, and it is what you requested to be called. There is nothing strange about listening to you.

[His poker face is perfection, at least.]

Ahhh, what an annoying guy.

[HE'S PRETTY, OKAY!! His pretty name suits him just fine, too! But he lives with trolls so he knows how this goes, even if he's still shocked that Sousei is capable of joking at all...

With a little flourish, he slides his blade back into its sheath and sets his hands against his hips.]

Anywaaay, that's all! Watching time's over, you can go now.

[And he's not even trying to get rid of Sousei because he's irritated, either! He just knows the poor guy has to go ice his arms...]

[Wow!!!! Wow maybe he doesn't want to go ice his arms......]

Are you dismissing me?

[Slowly he arches an eyebrow at that, and stretches as he stands. Look, he can't remember the last time he was dismissed instead of doing the dismissing, it's an odd feeling.]

[GO ICE THOSE ARMS, BEANPOLE.]

You're dismissed! [There, now it's extra official and everything... Too bad he promptly ruins that air of vague authority by waving his hands around in some sort of spastic shooing motion.] So go, go, go! Go make sure your arms don't fall off.

[.... .... .... ... It's a slow motion, and ultimately, what he says is--]

I'm leaving under my own authority, for the record.

[But okay, okay, he's listening.

Off he goes to make sure his arms don't fall off.

And while he doesn't say "thank you" again or anything like that, even as he exits the dojo, he's certainly grateful.]
