Who: Archer and Ryuko, Athena, Nonon, Shirou, Katsura | Archer and Lancer

Where: Athena's apartment | Research District
What: Archer occupying his time while Rin is out | Archer going on a rampage to save Rin from being tortured
Warning: Definitely violence and forced mood altering for the latter.

Athena's Apartment

[Later that afternoon, Archer simply showed up at Athena's place. After all, she had made a deal with Archer. While Rin was gone, she needed to keep him from doing anything stupid. Since all EMIYAs are inherently stupid, it was definitely a hefty goal. But one she had willingly took on anyway.

Still, Archer was merciless. With Rin gone, not only did he have hefty amounts of free time, he was also a lot harsher than usual. Which probably wouldn't sit well with the other people in this house. Yes, Archer didn't even knock. He simply spirited his way in, appearing in the middle of the living room, with no qualms about what was already happening there.]

...just let me get to the kitchen. You idiots are probably going to beg for food anyway.

[Wow, having Archer cook for you, what a privilege. Or a chore since they had to deal with his mouth. And his need to make sure they ate healthily with all food groups obtained in a meal.]

Any requests or am I going to have to wing it?

[Movie watchers in the room with popcorn? Yeah, Archer is plucking that away. That'll not only spoil an appetite but it was useless filler in a diet.]

Lancer | Research District

[This was where he felt Rin. Somewhere around here. If she was in trouble, why didn't she just use a command spell and summon him to her side? No, the answer to that was pretty obvious. She was being blocked, her actions previously being punished. That was what he could infer from her pain and the suffering he was experiencing through their link. No, not exactly pain. Extreme mental anguish.

It pushed him on, bursting straight to the district, only to run into someone in blue. It was a familiar sight but not one Archer really wanted to see at the moment. Didn't Rin make him promise to stop Archer from doing anything stupid. What a useless girl!]

...I don't know what you're doing here but get out of my way.

[Which was about as verbally close to angry as Archer has ever been. But right now, if Lancer was going to stop him, he was going all out. None of that senseless holding back to gain a slight advantage.]

[A second pair appears in his hands, just in time to guard. But, unlike previous fights, he hasn't dispelled the deflected blades. With their partner swords in Archer's hands again (albeit more copies), the other two blades arc outwards and slowly come back to Archer, soon to be a threat again.]

Steel is my body and fire is my blood.

[Lancer feels it. The blade coming towards him from behind. After that clash, he moves backward to dodge the incoming ranged attack and with that he ready up his Gae Bolg. But then, He can't really use his noble phantasm here. Throwing it will mean massive damages to the facilities around him and using it up close will mean taking away Archer's.

So just disarm him and make him fall on his knees. He moves forward to pierce those two swords away.]

[Those lashes from the lances are simple enough to disarm him. Temporarily. Archer wasn't one to go unarmed at all.

He swapped tactics, this time creating a longsword. Roland's weapon, to be specific. With this, he almost specifically imitated Saber's form of combat, massively hard blows powered by mana.]

I have created over a thousand blades.

[Parrying himself over that strong blows, Lancer backs down a bit.]

So now you're going to copy Saber's attack? It'll get you nowhere!

[Lancer changes his battle strategy. He now moves closer to Archer, and instead of using thrusts, he utilizes the deadliest strike: his spear's swings. With that, Archer could not dodge his attack by simply stepping back, due to the length of the spear, so he must fight it head on. Any simple mistake will simply lead to his own demise.

But he has one more thing on his mind: what is he muttering about all this time?]

[He just cracks a sardonic smile and stabs his sword into the ground.]

You don't think I'm just keeping you on your toes, Ireland's Hero?

[He used the sword as a footstep to leap over one of his swings, only to make a lance for himself in midair. In any situation, this tactic would be instant death against Lancer, since spears were his playground. But he frankly understood that Lancer wasn't trying to kill him.

It was good for one downward swing himself, though. He just had to keep the spearman thinking.]

Unknown to death, Nor known to life.

[A lance? Is he joking? Lancer swings two or three slashes and that's enough to push Archer back for quite a distance.]

Oi, I don't know what you're thinking but if you wish to mock me in spear duels I'll make sure you'll regret it.

[Lancer raises his fighting intensity. He jumps instantly behind Archer and kicks him away followed by a swing to sustain minor injury.

His chanting is half-done, but Lancer isn't aware of it.]

[The damage wasn't too much to put up with. Especially when he controlled his movements to take the hits rather than force himself against them.]

Have withstood pain to create many weapons.

[In mid-air, his bow appeared in his hand to fire off a dozen arrows quickly. Again, a delaying tactic to keep Lancer at bay. At this point, it was his best option.]

[Again. Projectiles attack. Lancer repels those arrows easily. What does Archer think? Putting up such useless attack to him. Lancer dashes forward, creating a havoc attack around Archer. It's just impossible to capture him without cornering him.

Maybe he should use his Gae Bolg and forces Archer to repel it with his Aias again? But the destruction will be too much.

It's okay. This is enough to keep Archer away from Rin. Hope she finishes whatever she does faster.]

[After that punishment, Archer keeps himself rooted to the spot he's left standing, weapons gone. He simply looks down, crosses an arm across his chest, and closes his eyes.]

Yet, those hands will never hold anything.

[After that clash Lancer also pushes himself back for a bit, enough distance to see what Archer is doing. Yet, he doesn't get it. But he can sense a great menacing aura around Archer and he makes a defensive approach this time rather than dashing forward.

Let's see what he's up to.]

...I'm sure you've always wanted to see my true Noble Phantasm.

[One final smirk.]

So as I pray, unlimited blade works.

[The entire area around him explodes in fire. Non-damaging, of course, but when the smoke clears, only the two of them are standing in his field of swords. Archer's world, where everything here acts on his whim.]

Now that you've seen this, I'll give you one last choice. Let me save Rin or get in my way.

[Lancer's taken by surprise a little when the world around him transforms into a desert of swords.]

A reality marble? What a surprise. So that's what you mean by you got more back then.

[Lancer enters his battle stance. Maybe he doesn't understand that Rin is in such danger.]

You're going all out, is that precious Master of yours in such a danger?

The fact that your first question isn't wondering why a swordsman who is supposed to use a bow has a Noble Phantasm more suited for a Caster surprises me a bit. Still, at least you want to listen. And yes, she's already beyond being in danger. As of now, she's being tortured. Somehow, some way. I can feel her pain.

[Lancer is taken aback hearing that. That sound, reasonable. He's about to strike again but decides to do the opposite.

Lowering his spear, he replies.]

If what you say is true, then I'll change my mind and assist you to rescue her.

But if I find out you have other intentions, I'll gladly strike you with my Noble Phantasm.

I'll take your word as a hero for that. No need for promises.

[Archer's no real idiot. If Lancer says he's going to do something, then he will. Instead, he just dispels the reality marble, leaving them back in the research district.]

But we also need to cause a little destruction. As far as I can tell, there's no simple way to where she is.
