▶ VIDEO.EXE | IC: 1/25
[ The broadcast comes bright and early for those paying attention to their CereVices; the man who appears on the screen is strikingly pale, white-haired and piercingly blue-eyed. He looks young, no more than nineteen or twenty and he's dressed in a crisp black and white suit. He stares into the screen for a long moment, long enough to be, frankly, just a bit uncomfortable.▶ ACTION.EXE | IC: 1/26
And then white eyelashes blink and an awkward, unsure smile spreads across his face. He lifts a hand to fix his tie and speaks. ]
This is Mosley.
[ The smile drops, leaving him with a blank expression once again. ]
CERES has decided in a show of good faith to open our doors to you. I have been given the task of, [ He lifts his hands to emphasize with air quotes. ] "being your tour guide." If that is what I must do, so be it. The lazy worm does not get the apple, after all.
[ He looks down at the tablet on his desk, giving it a few taps and suddenly an icon appears on the bottom right hand of the video. ]
That link will bring you to a listing to make an appointment. You will be given a time. Show up promptly or do not, it is no matter to me. The tour will leave ten minutes after your given time and that will be that. Tours will only last a few hours so you needn't worry about the rest of your day. You will certainly return home in time to catch the latest episode of [ Air quotes again. ] "Banana is the New Black." I hear there's going to be a cliffhanger!
[ A pause and he looks oddly thoughtful. ]
I suppose you could also steal it off the internet? [ Blank again. ] Which would be wrong. Our lawyers will contact you if you do that. Do not.
[ And then another of those awkward smiles before quickly turning into something a bit startled and he taps his tablet again, ending the video. Replies to this feed have been disabled, unfortunately. Seems like someone isn't feeling very chatty. It's a miracle. ]
[ The next day, that Monday, those who take Mosley up on his offer will find that him standing there right in front of the main CERES office building, waiting. It’s with that same disconcerting smile that he unlocks the door and ushers them in.
Welcome, all of you, to our lovely CERES!
The group will find themselves standing in a lobby. Clean white walls and floors, a bright blue rug leading towards the elevators on the far wall, and a white reception counter. At the counter are two CERES robots answering calls and directing any visitors (though the lobby seems quite empty today) and on the wall behind them is a hologram of the CERES logo for all to see. Mosley stands in the center of the carpet in his usual suit and claps his hands together, putting on a smile. ]
Welcome to CERES.
[ And then the smile drops. Voice flat, he continues. ]
There has been... talk over the past few months that we at CERES have not been working 24/7 to help you, our clientele, return to your homes safely and soundly. There has also been... talk that we do not do anything. That this entire company is a farce, which is honestly quite hurtful to both me and the other hardworking staff at this company. Mr. Vincere had his way of running this place but Ms. Recreare is fond of a more hands on approach. We want to share that approach with you.
[ He spreads his hands to indicate to the building around them. ]
CERES has many fingers in many jars and they've all been sealed tight for a while. We would like to open those jars. So once again, welcome to CERES and please follow me.
[ After that, Mosley turns and begins to lead the group off. ]

There is no tagging order, so feel free to tag in whatever way works best for you as a group.
The tours will technically last 3 hours icly, but that may change as ic events happen; oocly, the threads will last as long as necessary, though Mosley will come and collect your characters if they are moseying around too long! There will be mod involvement in each of the tours.
If there are any questions, feel free to ask them here. You are welcome to plot with your groupmates by using the ooc top level comments linked above. Thank you!

I can keep watch while Miss Aura checks the computers. If anyone comes by to ask, as long as they aren't machines...
[Ai lowers her voice to a whisper for Aura and Pearl's ears only.]
I can hypnotize to an extent. It's not that strong, but it'll buy us some time.
no subject
[ She hands the cat poster to Ai and Pearl as she opts to go near a computer terminal. ]
Pretend to look at the poster, obscure me with it.
[ And with that, she begins to try and gain access onto the terminal and try and dig up whatever she can. ]
no subject
Though she doesn't seem to have a lot of information to be accessed at the moment at her fingertips. There's a single document titled Code and You: A Beginner's Guide.
Seems this terminal was set up for visitors. How handy! ]
no subject
Anything yet, Miss Aura?
no subject
[ She cursed underneath her breath and sighed, but she stuck a flash drive in so that she could copy the file.
And try and breach in this computer and whatever network it was connected to as well. ]

[ There are no difficulties in putting in the flash drive or retrieving the file; it copies over easily enough. However, as soon as Aura attempts to access the network, the lights flicker out.
A few scant moments later, they flicker back on as if nothing had happened --
But it seems all of the technicians are now gone, leaving the ladies in an empty room, terminals still lit up from where they had been working. ]

W...what just happened? Where did everyone go? Miss Blackquill, did you press any weird buttons?
[ Did you delete everyone, Aura. ]

MOSLEY: lol
MOSLEY: Don't you know spending too much time at the computer will ruin your eyes, Ms Blackquill?
MOSLEY: Then you'll go blind and after that it's only a matter of time before you bump into things and miss a step and–
MOSLEY: BAM
MOSLEY: Right off a cliff.
MOSLEY: You might as well return to your tour, Ms Blackquill. Before you find yourself taking a nasty tumble.
MOSLEY: Why not check out those doors behind you?
[ And unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your perspective), Aura will be unable to reply. After a minute or so, the computer will shut off and they'll be left alone again. Perhaps it's time to take Mosley's suggestion. ]
no subject
So... Maybe they're also just data like...
[She turns around to look at the computer screen now that there's no need to be on the lookout for people who would interrupt their investigation of sorts. When the IM window pops up, her eyebrows furrow in mild frustration as she reads the vivid pink text.]
He's watching us? Why isn't he coming back to lead us around instead? In any case... There's not much else we can do here, is there?
no subject
[ Aura physically recoils when she sees that she's being talked to on the screen. She didn't want to see that. Was Mosley watching them? She looked over to her two companions and stuck a hand out for her poster. ]
22 next. World Technicians, if I remember right.
[ And she's just gonna grab her flash drive from the computer too. ]
no subject
[ Mosley, what is your deal.
Pearl nods. ] Let's hurry, this place is a lot creepier when no one's here and Mr Mosley is spying on us...
no subject
Floor 22 it is. If Mr. Mosley's watching us, we'll have to be careful with what we try to do next.
no subject
[ Because there's no way on earth that this whole scenario was rigged up in some way. She looks up, looking for any sign of cameras around. Now to wait for the elevator.
Hopefully it isn't playing Britney Spears anymore. ]
no subject
The only two buttons lit up are now floor 22 and floor 40, but otherwise the elevator seems the same as always.
and now? ]
no subject
It's probably safe to assume that the other tour groups are running into difficulties as well, right?
no subject
▶ CHECKPOINT TWO.SAV
. . . CONTINUING TOUR.EXE. . .
[ Onwards to floor 22! When they press the button, the elevator takes off quite smoothly, and it opens to floor 22 with a charming little ding!
Unfortunately, floor 22 is -- well.
It's a mess. The office looks as though some sort of monstrosity tore through it, and there are no people to be found, only smashed desks, computers and flickering lights.
Other than the crackle of abused technology, it's quiet -- and dark. ]
no subject
This place... it looks very poorly maintained! Don't they have anyone keeping this place tidy?!
[ Yes, that is the problem here. Poor janitorial service. ]
no subject
[The mess doesn't bode well to say the least.]
Well, if the damage shows us anything, we may run into trouble one way or another. Really unfriendly trouble...
[Ai takes a few steps forward, grimacing at the smashed desks.]
I suppose I could move most of this aside so we could rifle through it and see if there's anything useful?
no subject
[ That sounds like a plan. Aura gets on a knee and starts digging through some of the parts of nearest broken computer. This is where having her kit the way it is helps. She hopes there's going to be something useful in all this debris. ]
Move the heavier stuff, Ai. I'm sure there's something here. There has to be.
no subject
Alright. You two may want to step back.
[Her eyes begin to glow as she directs her gaze at two of the smashed tables. Said tables begin to move upwards into the air, where various bits and pages of paper fall out. Ai shakes the tables up and down to remove any leftover contents.]
no subject
Now what will they find rummaging through these? If there are any more weird cat posters here, she's taking that.]
no subject
They are the typical papers you would expect to find in an employee's desk; bits of check stubs, papers on expectations, the employee handbook nobody ever actually reads...the usual.
The computers as well are a veritable mess; it would be a challenge to find anything salvageable with how wrecked everything is.
Still, with the desks removed out of their way, they now have a clear path to a door that's still slightly ajar. ]
no subject
Pearl tidies up some of the papers and other junk, piling it aside for whoever has to clean up to find. ]
Oh, there's another door over there.
[ She'll just go over and carefully open it farther to get a peek inside. ]
