[semi-open] did u hear the joke about the dragon
Who:
perfectstrike & anyone who might have cause to try to call Peko to check up on her after the CERESTour!
When: just after the CERESTour into the next day (ic: 1/26-1/27)
Where: CERES Hospital
What: Peko got herself injured during the CERESTour and is patently confused as to why people keep visiting her.
Rating/Warning: Warning for blood and talk about injuries, but nothing gorey or gruesome.
[Immediately following the tour, Mosley had kindly ushered group three to the hospital for their sustained injuries. Peko, having gotten herself hit with the sharp end of a not-so-virtual dragon's claw, had needed to be rushed to get several nasty-looking gashes cleaned and stitched, along with some smaller burns treated. Swords aren't much good against things that can fly and breathe fire, after all.
Some time later, she can be found in the wing tended to by human and humanoid doctors (no androids here, please), seated quietly in one of the beds with her eyes closed as if she's asleep. The heart rate monitor is beeping quietly and steadily, and there's an IV hooked to her right arm to replenish some of the fluid she'd lost from bleeding everywhere earlier. All in all, though, she looks fine! If the ripped and bloody sailor suit in the corner and the fresh white bandages covering her left bicep and peeking out from above the cut of her hospital gown over her chest are any indication. At least the gown is cute, with happy little robots printed in a pattern along the fabric. To promote organic healing, of course!
Before the Cerevice goes down, though, she'll be answering calls with voice and just generally trying to rest and recover in the hospital. She's fine, though, really--!]

[Once upright to her satisfaction, she moves one of her pillows to make it a little easier to rest against it.
Don't... mind the veritable flower garden Rock Lee left in his wake, scattered about the room. It's truly incredible in breadth and variety.
...There's also a lone tulip in a vase by itself that definitely looks like it was stolen from the staff room, too.]
We were led through an intern's "virtual diary" as a kind of history lesson, however, as one might expect, "virtual" dangers were quite real.

He's both concerned for her, and deeply curious to hear about what happened on the other "tours." By the looks of things, they might have gotten off comparatively easy. ]
They had you attacked? [ he says, incredulous. ]
no subject
[She frowns and shakes her head, a little slowly.]
Mosley suffered some kind of ailment that induced vomiting not long after our tour began, leaving us unattended. Perhaps, had we not gone into the "diaries" on our own, there would not have been such a threat. It is impossible to say for certain.
Anyway, we encountered several monsters. One with multiple heads and tentacles that was surprisingly easy to defeat, among the five of us. After that, we also encountered dragons... which, as you might imagine, a sword is little use.
[Her sword is still in its bag, sitting within arm's reach on her bed itself. Even if she'd have quite a bit of difficulty using it right now, she won't ever leave it far from her.]
no subject
This isn't incompetency - it's actual malice. ]
... I'm sorry you were injured. But you should be back on your feet soon, thanks to the medical technology here. [ that said: ] ... What happened to you sounds very similar to what happened to me. We weren't attacked, but Mosley left us suddenly, the same as you, and then things started to fall apart.

[Last time she had wounds like this, there were a lot more of them, and she didn't exactly make it out... before that, her talent in kendo had rendered her all but untouchable from normal attacks. Unfortunately, there's nothing really "normal" about Tellus.]
But yes... the young master did mention that he left your group to search for lightbulbs?
[From the tone of her voice, it's clear she's not even remotely impressed. What the actual heck.]
no subject
Zara shares her lack of amusement on that excuse. Pretty flimsy. ]
Yes... That was what he told us. After hearing your story, though, I strongly doubt that was what really happened. As soon as he left, the floor fell out beneath us and dropped us into an abandoned area. At the time, I wasn't sure, but it seems now that it was most likely intentional.
no subject
I... suppose I am inclined to agree.
[She sounds a little uncertain about that, because she'd already gone and assigned blame for her injuries to herself. Especially in the wake of half her team apologizing to her, she'd really taken it as personal fault than assigning blame to CERES. But if it's both her group, and Zara's group... hm.
Put it that way, and it does seem more suspicious.]
Still, I am glad neither you nor the young master were injured... it sounds like some in your party were not concerned with collateral damage.
[She means Richter, though she only knows him as "Cerberus" and only from Kuzuryuu's none-too-impressed opinion.]
no subject
That's what he thinks, honestly, despite his reaction to her comment, which is a heavy sigh and a wrinkling of his nose in distaste. ]
Yes, we were fine. There's a chance that particular member of our group was planted by CERES - he didn't appear until after Mosley disappeared. He denied it, but it's awfully suspicious.
no subject
[HMM... suspicions intensify, beyond normal dislike to full-blown disgust. Most of that is still thanks to Kuzuryuu, since anyone Kuzuryuu doesn't like, Peko is naturally required to also dislike.]
I'll remember that. Should anything happen again, and I am there to see it...
[She trails off. Hopefully Zara gets the implication that she'll take action if necessary.]
no subject
... That is most appreciated. It's worth nothing he never tried to harm us, but... Well, he wasn't much help, either. He said his name was Cerberus.
[ a pause. ]
-- I suppose Mr. Kuzuryuu probably told you all this already.
no subject
[Hazards of being involved with Kuzuryuu, odds are things get back to Peko from him quicker than they do from anyone else. Her expression softens a little at that admission; it's still taking some getting used to, having him visibly care for her like this.
Ah, but if there's one thing he wouldn't tell her that maybe Zara will:]
Tell me, he wasn't injured, was he?
[So help her, bocchan, if you got hurt and aren't getting treated out of stubbornness she'll find a way to throw you into a hospital bed.]
no subject
Ah, no. There's no need to worry about that. The worst he could have suffered is a bruised bottom when we fell down that shaft. There wasn't anything particularly dangerous down there, which surprised me, quite frankly.
[ in a way, he can't blame Cerberus for attacking that fish-person as soon as it appeared. But it was still a stupid thing to do. ]
no subject
[His poor bottom... She's going to be thinking about that next time she sees him, thanks Zara. At least it's a very nice bottom...]
Anyway, now that I know you work here... the hospital seems like a much less suspicious place. This particular side of it, that is.
[Definitely not into the robots and androids nope.]
no subject
Mm. There are a few of us working here, putting our talents to use. I feel rather outclassed by the men and women with healing magic and the like, but even I find ways to help once in a while. [ a beat. ] I haven't noticed anything particularly suspicious here, but if there was... Well, I'd rather have other refugees in charge of our health, not the robots.
[ clearly, he isn't a fan, either. ]
no subject
Truth be told, I prefer normal medicine to any of the "healing magic" that others might possess.
[Peko actually makes a bit of a face at that. She is so done with combat magic and healing magic and who the heck knows what other kinds of magic are floating around here. It sucks for this basically ordinary swordswoman.]
But in any case... if you do see something suspicious, or something strange starts happening here... please let me know.
no subject
[ even if she wasn't injured, he'd probably warn her, too. Also, he is 100% with her on the magic stuff. It sucks for this ordinary medicine man, too - knowing someone can do better than your years of experience with a wave of their hands.
A small sigh. Then, shaking his head, he tries to put on a little smile. ]
Regardless... Are you feeling all right? If there's something I can do, let me know.
no subject
[She blinks with a bit of surprise at his question... but then again, that's a normal question for a doctor to ask, if she's feeling alright? Still completely thrown whenever anyone shows her concern, it's so sad.]
I'm fine. The young master has made sure that I have everything I might need, [though him being around is more than enough, by itself,] and I have had several other visitors stop by, as well. It's... unexpected.
no subject
Unexpected...? I can't imagine why.
[ well, it's not like Zara thinks she's a social butterfly - she doesn't seem like one, and he knows himself the amount of dedication it requires to be someone's personal aide - but she seems like a perfectly nice girl otherwise. Perhaps she has low self-esteem...? ]
no subject
Where I am from... [Hm, how to put this nicely.] ...I did not have any friends. Most people did not want to associate with the young master and I.
[Yeah, that's about the best way to put it.]
It is very different, here.
no subject
The way she words it makes it seem like it's because of their criminal association. That would be understandable. Still, it's sad to think of the two of them being alone. ]
That's a shame. You're a lovely young woman. [ a pert nod. ] ... Then I'm glad you have the opportunity to be with others more here, even if this place isn't ideal.
