Welcome to Thistle Do Nicely! Make yourself comfortable and browse the grand selection. In spirit of upcoming Valentine's Day, the store is decorated in pink and red, hearts scattered here and there. Sweet soft toys are on display, and there are bargains to be found. The tea shop is also decked out, but there seems to be something extra special happening on that side too.


A: ROSES ARE RED, VIOLETS ARE DISCOUNTED

[Are you here for the flowers? Sure you are, it's a grand tradition that all Valentines must share: the giving of flowers to loved ones. Roses are a definite favourite, but maybe you're after something more unique? Then look no further! Ask one of your friendly staff about it. Or maybe they're coming to you! But if they do, some may have the misfortunate of being told by the mysterious NPC boss to repeat the following: "What can Cupid's assistant do for you today?" Yeah, it's pretty embarrassing.

Or maybe you've bumped into a friend! In that case, buying flowers for Valentine's Day? Are you proud of this, or are you so embarrassed you must hide all evidence.

Alternatively, time has passed and you're now here because you have coupons for an additional price cut on your flowers if you are taking part in the Blind Date event. Blind dates can be particularly nerve-wracking, so let this store make things a little easier for you. You'll thank them for it.]


B: ANYONE WHO HATES CHOCOLATE IS A MONSTER (no we're kidding we still love you)

B.1: KITCHEN NIGHTMARES

[In all walks of life, chocolate is a very popular gift for Valentine's Day. And in some places, even more importance is placed on whether it's homemade or not. A section of the tea shop has been cleared just for this: earthy tables now have small stoves on them and ingredients set out. It's time to learn how to make chocolate. These classes are lead by head chef Shokudaikiri Mitsutada and his (reluctant) chef's assistant Ookurikara, but you can be sure that all the other reliable staff of Thistle Do Nicely are getting in on the action to help out (or learn themselves) too! Maybe Mitsutada and a handful of staff will make this great. The other half...

Everyone interested in these classes will gather round each of these tables, and together you will learn how to make chocolate. It's a team effort, so discuss with each other and work together to perfect it! In the end, you will be given cute little boxes or bags to put your chocolate in so you can give it to those intended. Or yourself, you can eat them too. Alternatively, you were forced into this mess, or have no idea why you're here but you're going to roll with it because it's chocolate.

The classes are free, happening a couple hours a day, but the ingredients require a small donation to keep the classes going. These classes are ongoing, so by the time you've gotten your Blind Date, you don't have to donate if you show them your coupon.]


B.2 CHOCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS

[Or maybe you're not here for the classes, you're spending time on the other half of the tea shop where it's still set for customers. The tea shop half of the entire store is not actually that big, so you might be finding it a bit cramped.

That being said, a treats bar has been set out as a complimentary offer. There's a chocolate fountain in the middle of this bar, and you know you wanna dip some heart shaped marshmallows or fruits in that sucker. There's also these flower shaped gummies. No one actually knows how they got there, but maybe for the sake of science, you want to coat it with chocolate and eat it.

C: WILDCARD.

[Because there's so much more to explore! Or maybe you're just here to visit and laugh at them. Or maybe you wanna use the tea space as a PLACE FOR A DATE, AYYYYYY in which the scene from Lady and the Tramp could happen and there will be a cute musical number (look, I'll have it arranged, I'm not even kidding. Too bad I can't get an Okiayu character to do it though, you might have to make do with a loser girl). Or maybe you've MESSED UP THIS ENTIRE PLACE Vietnam will kill you with her bare hands (unless she likes you, then you will live).]

[ Well there sure is one sword standing amidst the flowers today. He...is just debating on which ones to get. Blind dates aside Kousetsu just likes flowers?! He is really staring very seriously at them though. What is his deal?! He doesn't know what to get and this is clearly a very important holiday so...help him. In the middle of his rather deep thoughts and inner debates he might accidentally hit into your character's arm. He'll just bow in apology then. ]

...I apologize. I was not watching where I was going. [ He was too focused...on the flowers. ]

[ Kousetsu is not here for the classes today at least. Today he's here for the free chocolate and is seen readily enjoying it, though not really because what is emotion?, as he stands by chocolate fountain tasting and trying an assortment of things. It's pretty tasty and he's certain he never thought to dip fruits in chocolate before maybe because it defeated the purpose of fruits being healthy. Either way he will be sitting in the corner with a plate of chocolate covered goodies, munching happily away on them as he people watches. Don't mind the priest sitting and eating chocolate, totally a normal occurrence in Cerealia to be sure. ]

[ He looks up from his plate at the greeting. Bowing his head in respect and greeting he meets Vietnam's eye. ]

Good afternoon, Vietnam-san. [ He thinks for a moment as he looks around the flower shop. ]

The flower shop is...quite busy today. [ Has been for several days. Not that it's anything Kousetsu would know about. Valentine's Day isn't something he's readily accustomed to. ]

...your hard work is appreciated.

[And she bows a greeting back in return! He looks comfortable actually. Not even bothered by Valentine's Day.]

It is, it's for Valentine's Day. Thank you, though! I hope you are enjoying yourself?

[ He totally isn't. Valentine's Day is not something he's used to though, so maybe that's it?! Who even knows. ]

...yes. I was tasting various chocolate covered items to see what my...valentine may like.

[ There is a pause there because it's awkward saying it a little. He's so dutiful, even if he's not sure about this holiday at all. ]

I have heard that giving chocolates is...one of the best gift ideas. But I am unfamiliar with the practices surrounding this holiday. I am...not sure if flowers would be better.

[SO ZEN, IT'S AMAZING. Everyone needs to learn from Kousetsu's handling of valentine's day.]

O-oh, you have a Valentine? [Her cheeks colour only because thinking of Kousetsu with one! He'll be a great date, she thinks. Good luck, Kousetsu's date!]

Both chocolates and flowers are very popular. It depends on preference, that is all! What do you like so far?

[ He doesn't see what the problem is in getting chocolates and nice things for people you love! He will do it to the best of his abilities and that's all he can hope for. In any case he nods looking back at Vietnam with a curious head tilt. Why are you blushing? ]

...yes. My name was put into the blind date event. [ So it wasn't of his own accord, sorry Vietnam. ] I will...do my best to provide them a good experience on that day.

[ He says it almost like it's his duty or something. Kousetsu no. But really making people happy seems to make him happy as well so he is really going to try and do that. Hence his taste testing and thoughtful deliberation on many things within the store thus far. ]

...I did like the chocolate covered strawberries and pineapple. They were rather good.

[ While Kagemitsu is distracted by the tall person, Poko, who was just in his arms where he could keep track of the tanuki, jumps to the floor and starts to nibble on a leaf. ]

No, Poko, don't.

[ Picking him up again because don't eat people's merchandise. And then turning back to tall person. ]

Are you here to buy flowers too, nii-san?

[ Ah. Cute. Kousetsu will watch Poko for a few moments before turning his gaze back onto the person addressing him. He'll nod silently in response. ]

...yes. It is for...Valentine's Day. Are you looking for flowers as well?

[ Poko is very cute. And also friendly. Poko's attention turns to the sword as well. ]

It's a very interesting celebration, isn't it? But yes, I am. For my family.

[ Kousetsu for the most part will bend down to go and pet Poko and he might even pick him up if he's allowed. ]

...it is apparently something that is a custom throughout much of the world in modern times. [ He's never really known that before. Still it's a nice holiday to celebrate and he can't find much fault in it. ]

[ Of course. Poko is friendly and Kagemitsu likes when people likes Poko. ]

From how a lot of people here are looking at it, it must be pretty important, too.

...yes it is similar to that holiday, Christmas. However this does not seem to be as dangerous as that.

[ Because having your house broken into by a fat man weilding guns and knives wasn't exactly a great experience. Kousetsu will continue to hold the tiny racoon, petting him every once in awhile as he speaks. He'll finally remember that Poko isn't actually his, ah. He's sorry he kinda absently took him from you. ]

[While Botan actually wants to learn how to make chocolates, for her own reasons, she is also wanting to taste them as well. So next to the fountain she grabs her own assortment of fruits to dip before a familiar face catches her eye.

Perking up a little she walks over to the man.]

It's nice to see you in person.

[ He'll look up from his pondering and people watching when greeted by a familiar voice. He'll bow his head in greeting. ]

Botan-san it is a pleasure to meet you as well. [ He'll take note of the fruit assortment on her plate. ]

...you are trying the fountain as well?

[fallingsakura]

[Bowing in reply, she offers a smile to him.]

It is a pleasure.

[Nodding she looks to the seat next to him.]

May I?

[ Ah, right, yes she needs to sit. He'll scoot over to give her some room to sit next to him before he nods. ]

...yes please, sit. [ And once she has the silence will linger for a moment before he speaks again. ]

It is...a very popular human holiday it seems.

[She gladly takes the offer, it was nice to sit near someone she knows at least.]

Thank you. [Looking at him she is a little surprised but ends up chuckling.]

Yes, it seems to be. I don't remember a lot of things like this back home but I think it's kind of sweet. What do you feel about it?

...it is an interesting way of celebrating. I would not have thought to...buy chocolates and flowers for loved ones. [ He wasn't really sure about chocolate or things until coming here. Chocolate was a foreign item and entirely unknown to some of the swords, Kousetsu included. But he did rather enjoy it a good deal. ]

Humans are very diverse in their ways of celebrating simple concepts. It is...refreshing to see and participate in.

[While waiting for his chocolates to chill, Sayo's checking out the chocolate fountain and dipping various fruits into it. After he made enough chocolate covered goodies, Sayo walks away to find a place to sit and happens to spot his brother.

He walks over towards him while carrying a plate of chocolate covered treats in his hands.]

Hello, Niisan.

[heiwana]

[ Kousetsu will look up immediately upon hearing his brother's voice. But the expression to follow is a warm smile though it comes and goes quickly. He bows his head a little in response. ]

...have you found persimmons to dip into the fountain? [ He knows out of all the things Sayo would probably like those the most. ]

[reprizesal]

[Sayo nods in response.]

Yes... Someone found them for me.

[He looks down at his plate for a moment, before picking up a chocolate coated persimmon slice and offers it to Kousetsu. He have plenty of pieces and he likes to give one to his brother.]

[heiwana]

[ Ah that's good. He's happy knowing Sayo is getting along with people here without him and Souza around. Not that he or Souza would be leaving anytime soon. But the entire ordeal with Tenka still being gone puts a heavy weight on his thoughts. He nods, smiling gently as he takes the offered sweet.

It's...very unique tasting and very sweet. Though he eats it without making any sort of expression to indicate his thoughts. ]

...it is good.

[Sayo's trying to get along with people, but it's not easy for him. Listening and talking to people isn't the same as trusting them.

Although he only dipped it into the chocolate fountain, Sayo looked up at Kousetsu and anxiously waits for his opinion on it. He nods, smiling a little.]

...Yes. If it isn't, they wouldn't put out persimmons.

[heiwana]

[ He nods in agreement with Sayo's words. ]

...they sometimes have strange foods here. But this is rather good. We should...make some when we return home.

[ Kousetsu no. Don't feed the addiction. ]
