Who: YOU, MY FRIEND & The friendly staff of Thistle Do Nicely, a humble flower shop.
When: IC: 29th January to February 14th (OOC: Starts 3rd July, full month log.)
Where: Thistle Do Nicely, Shopping District.
What: It's nearly Valentine's Day, so there's sales and events! Want to learn how to make chocolate? Look here! Cashing in your coupon for the upcoming Blind Date player event? That's here too! This is a mingle log, so everyone come mingle to your hearts content, and come in anytime, there's no such thing as late.
Rating/Warning: Nothing so far. There might be some future nightmares.
NOTE: There are some forward-dated prompts/part of prompts in this log. This is to coincide with the Blind Date Player Plot this month! More links and updates will be posted here once they come up.
Also if you wanna know how this works, it's just a mingle! An example here, our previous open mingle log. Treat it however you like, open and closed options welcome.
--------
Welcome to Thistle Do Nicely! Make yourself comfortable and browse the grand selection. In spirit of upcoming Valentine's Day, the store is decorated in pink and red, hearts scattered here and there. Sweet soft toys are on display, and there are bargains to be found. The tea shop is also decked out, but there seems to be something extra special happening on that side too.
A: ROSES ARE RED, VIOLETS ARE DISCOUNTED
[Are you here for the flowers? Sure you are, it's a grand tradition that all Valentines must share: the giving of flowers to loved ones. Roses are a definite favourite, but maybe you're after something more unique? Then look no further! Ask one of your friendly staff about it. Or maybe they're coming to you! But if they do, some may have the misfortunate of being told by the mysterious NPC boss to repeat the following: "What can Cupid's assistant do for you today?" Yeah, it's pretty embarrassing.
Or maybe you've bumped into a friend! In that case, buying flowers for Valentine's Day? Are you proud of this, or are you so embarrassed you must hide all evidence.
Alternatively, time has passed and you're now here because you have coupons for an additional price cut on your flowers if you are taking part in the Blind Date event. Blind dates can be particularly nerve-wracking, so let this store make things a little easier for you. You'll thank them for it.]
B: ANYONE WHO HATES CHOCOLATE IS A MONSTER (no we're kidding we still love you)
B.1: KITCHEN NIGHTMARES
[In all walks of life, chocolate is a very popular gift for Valentine's Day. And in some places, even more importance is placed on whether it's homemade or not. A section of the tea shop has been cleared just for this: earthy tables now have small stoves on them and ingredients set out. It's time to learn how to make chocolate. These classes are lead by head chef Shokudaikiri Mitsutada and his (reluctant) chef's assistant Ookurikara, but you can be sure that all the other reliable staff of Thistle Do Nicely are getting in on the action to help out (or learn themselves) too! Maybe Mitsutada and a handful of staff will make this great. The other half...
Everyone interested in these classes will gather round each of these tables, and together you will learn how to make chocolate. It's a team effort, so discuss with each other and work together to perfect it! In the end, you will be given cute little boxes or bags to put your chocolate in so you can give it to those intended. Or yourself, you can eat them too. Alternatively, you were forced into this mess, or have no idea why you're here but you're going to roll with it because it's chocolate.
The classes are free, happening a couple hours a day, but the ingredients require a small donation to keep the classes going. These classes are ongoing, so by the time you've gotten your Blind Date, you don't have to donate if you show them your coupon.]
B.2 CHOCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS
[Or maybe you're not here for the classes, you're spending time on the other half of the tea shop where it's still set for customers. The tea shop half of the entire store is not actually that big, so you might be finding it a bit cramped.
That being said, a treats bar has been set out as a complimentary offer. There's a chocolate fountain in the middle of this bar, and you know you wanna dip some heart shaped marshmallows or fruits in that sucker. There's also these flower shaped gummies. No one actually knows how they got there, but maybe for the sake of science, you want to coat it with chocolate and eat it.
Do it.]
C: WILDCARD.
[Because there's so much more to explore! Or maybe you're just here to visit and laugh at them. Or maybe you wanna use the tea space as a PLACE FOR A DATE, AYYYYYY in which the scene from Lady and the Tramp could happen and there will be a cute musical number (look, I'll have it arranged, I'm not even kidding. Too bad I can't get an Okiayu character to do it though, you might have to make do with a loser girl). Or maybe you've MESSED UP THIS ENTIRE PLACE Vietnam will kill you with her bare hands (unless she likes you, then you will live).]

open!
[Ever since she's been around, Kaga's never one to understand about flowers. Well, not much, at least. She only knew a thing or two from Houshou and others who were rather fond of the plants.
Still, she is not that uncultured to understand that having their fragrances in your room is a bad thing, especially when you live by yourself in your apartment. Hence why she's browsing the flowers that would do much justice as her room's decoration.]
Perhaps this one is good...? [Here we go, the usual 'mumbling too loud for their own sakes' accident. Give this poor girl an advice or two?]
B-1;
[Despite how she looks, Kaga's actually amazing at making chocolates! O-okay, not amazing, but at least she's doing her job decently. Or it would seem. Well, the appearance of her chocolate is definitely that of a five-star cafe's, but the taste...?]
Would you mind giving it a try?
[...Only one way to find out, dear cool person. There! She's offering it to you!
On a relatively healthy side note, her chocolate is probably edible, but the sweetness of the chocolate is definitely lacking.]
C
[Throw me anything and I'll roll with you!]
b-1
[Leia is like, the opposite of cool, but nevertheless, she got this coupon thing and she's here to use it. When she's offered the chocolate, she stops what she's doing (that is, looking around), and isn't exactly shy about having a taste.
She takes it in her hand and almost doesn't want to eat it, it looks so good...]
So this is the class the ads were talking about? I hope it's not too late to join.
[Finally, taking the plunge, she tosses it into her mouth...!]
no subject
Yes. [And in that case, have a rather casual nod, Leia.] I don't think it's late. It's on break right now, but supposedly, there should be more of the class later.
[It goes without saying that she's rather ecstatic about Leia's response. I-Is the chocolate good enough??]
no subject
[She came at a good time then, it sounds like! Maybe she can get a rundown on what she's missed so far... but first, she swallows the girl's chocolate, and makes a face as she considers the taste. It's not quite enough to say that she's disappointed, but it's not that bubbly, happy feeling she should get when eating chocolate anyway.
What is it missing...?]
This... isn't bad.
[...]
But it's not sweet enough. Maybe we should look at the recipe together...?
no subject
...So it is bad. [Sigh. Well, everyone's a baby at first so she's taking it well.]
Yes, that would be a good idea. I have very little knowledge about sweets. [Homecooking is a different thing altogether though.]
no subject
[She shakes her head. Didn't she specifically say that it wasn't bad? Her expression actually brightens, and she tries to be super encouraging, because giving up this early in the game just isn't an option! (Game...? What game?)]
We'll get it right. After all, that's why we're here.
no subject
We can only hope so. [Ah, right-] I am Kaga. May I have the chance to know your name?
no subject
I'm Leia. Nice to meet you.

B-1
Hmm. It's bad.
[ She doesn't beat around the bush at times like these. It was important to be firm, or they'd never improve! ]
The presentation is good, but the taste is lacking. It needs to be sweeter, or just have any taste at all, really. Some people prefer their chocolate bitter or spicy, but nobody eats them just for the texture.
no subject
Ah, is that so? [She isn't really capable of showing it on her face, but she's definitely a bit disheartened at the fact.] Then more sugar is required, I'd assume?
no subject
More cocoa too, I think. Just making it sweeter wouldn't be much good if there's no other flavour, then it'll just be candy and not chocolate. [ At least she's a helpful devil. ]
no subject
Also cocking her head a bit to the side curiously.]
Chocolate isn't considered a candy?
no subject
Hmm, chocolate is a type of candy, but not all candy is like chocolate. Does that make sense? There needs to be elements that are uniquely chocolate-like, and to me that's the slight bitterness of the cocoa!
no subject
I'm not sure I follow perfectly, but I get the gist of it. [AND IN THAT CASE-!] Would you mind sparing a time to guide me a bit here?
(no subject)
(no subject)
I don't actually know a damn thing about making chocolate so...
A
Good for what?
no subject
Room decorations.
[Blind date? What blind date? She's totally out of the times.]
no subject
What room? [ Bedroom? Living room? She ought to be a little more descriptive. ]
no subject
no subject
[ How is this guy work in the flower shop again. ]
b1
Either way, he politely and warmly smiles at the girl. ]
If you don't mind my lack of knowledge, I would be glad to.
no subject
Worry not. You and me both.
[And there she is, offering the chocolate at him.]
no subject
But honestly, he really lacks knowledge in this chocolate thing, since he had never even heard of it before coming to this place.
Still, he offered and she accepted, so. He takes some and nibbles on a corner. ]
It's very sweet, isn't it?
[ He likes it, but exactly how sweet was it supposed to be? ]
no subject
Really?
[Not to sound dubious here, buddy, but how can she be optimistic about it when Kaga herself know that she was not doing perfectly there?]
no subject
Yeah.
[ He's not lying. But then how sweet was it supposed to be? ]
no subject
...On the scale of one to ten, how sweet was it?
(no subject)
